Cardiff IVC - friends and social
**LIVEN UP YOUR SOCIAL LIFE AND MEET NEW FRIENDS** Cardiff IVC Friends and Social is a multi-activities group for people in their 40s/50s/60s (though most of us think we’re a bit younger...). We are about meeting people, making new friends, sharing our interests and trying out new things. We have a varied programme with activities such as theatre, cinema, live music, walks, badminton, pub nights and weekends away. We arrange trips abroad: recent ones have included Lisbon, Porto and Vienna. We are a not-for-profit group run by our members. The club is also part of a nationwide organisation of about 40 similar groups, and we join in with them at their events. You are welcome to join us! Eric, Suzanne, Sian and Pete (Organisers) **How do I join?** We have a two-stage process. Firstly you join as a trial member, for no charge. To do this, click ‘request to join’ on our Meetup page. We ask you to put a recognisable photo of yourself on your profile, and submit your email so we can send you our code of conduct for you to read/accept. You will then be accepted onto our Meetup so you can see details of all our events. As a trial member, you will be able to attend most events. Please click ‘attend’ on the event in question, and also contact the host directly. If you have not attended any event within three months, your trial membership and access to our Meetup will be terminated. The second stage is full membership, which costs £15. After you have attended a couple of events as a trial member and decided you like our club, we invite you to join fully. You will be given a membership form and asked to submit your payment. **Cardiff IVC Friends and Social Code of Conduct (extract from 2015)** 1. All Members are entitled to be treated with courtesy and respect and shall treat all other Members with courtesy and respect. 2. Members are responsible for taking reasonable care over their health and safety and for considering and determining any risks of participation arising in connection with any relevant personal circumstances of the Member or the nature of the event or activity organized by the Club. Members shall observe any applicable rules and reasonable directions provided by the Club or by any relevant responsible third party relating to the health and safety of Members and of other Members. 3. Subject to any proper provision in the Rules relating to the conduct or business of the Club, all Members are to be treated equally without discrimination. New Members shall have the same rights as established Members of the Club. 4. Members shall maintain good and proper standards of behaviour and act and conduct themselves sensibly, responsibly, appropriately and with proper consideration to any other Members and to any third parties likely to be affected by their conduct. 5. Where Members bring any non-member guest to a Club event or premises, the Members must take responsibility for ensuring that the guest complies with this Code of Conduct and the Rules. 6. Members should be aware of any potential adverse effect upon the enjoyment of the rights of other Members which the Member’s behaviour has or may have and should be prepared to moderate their behaviour accordingly in consideration of the rights of other Members. The Club aims to create a happy, sociable and pleasant environment for all Members and expects Members to contribute positively towards meeting this aspiration. 7. Members should not act in a negative or destructive manner towards the Club, its events or fellow Members. This does not preclude fair and reasonable comment or opinion appropriately and fairly expressed. 8. Members are entitled to be free of harassment, bullying or abusive behaviour.
