West Sussex Social Events
I Hello Thanks for showing your interest in this group. This meetup group is ideal for single people and couples who would like to socialise and build up friendships. This group would suit anybody over 35 as long as your heart is young and your mind is open for adventure. We are planning to arrange events like beach and barbeque parties, dinners, picnics, walking, ten pin bowling, weekend trips, National Trust visits, boat trip and visit other places of interest. We would like to meet new people around West Sussex and the surrounding area like Horsham and Petworth and explore the nearby countryside. If you would like to make new friends in these areas, please join our group. \-\-\-\-\-Fees\-\-\-\- To cover any costs from e.g. obtaining documents for event planning, paying meetup fee, etc.,most of the events will have a fee of £2 Note: There will be a promotion time when no initial joining fee will be asked. If you would like to host any event then you are welcome to discuss this with me. \-\-\-\-General Rules\-\-\-\- To join us, your meetup profile should have a clear photo showing your face and should be current and not be older than 5 years. Your profile also needs to show your real name. Without those two criterion, your request of membership will not be accepted or even deleted, even you have paid the initial joining fee of £2. We reserve the right to delete your membership if your behaviour is inappropriate like rude, aggressive, confrontational and so on. At our age, we should already know how to treat people appropriately. Furthermore, we also reserve the right to remove a member who does not fit in the group whatever the reason is. In the case you register for an event and later realise that you cannot join the event, then please change your attending status as there is usually a wait list and it is only fair to others. Failure to do this resulting in two 'no shows' will mean that you will be removed from the group.   \-\-\-\-Legal Disclaimer\-\-\-\- By signing up for this group or any of the events, you agree that you have read and understand the below. Reigate, Redhill & Caterham Language Café
Do you enjoy speaking different languages and making new friends? Why not join our group and come and practise your French, Spanish, German and, very occasionally, other language conversation skills in a friendly, relaxed and supportive atmosphere at various venues in Reigate, Redhill and surrounding areas!  N.B. some of our events are online (on Zoom). Please join our group using your first name. It’s free to become a member of our group. There's a small charge for each of our events (this will be shown within the event details and when you book a place the organiser of the event will contact you with details of how to pay). As well as providing opportunities to practise your foreign language conversation skills these Meetup® events are also very enjoyable social events. If you join our group but would like to opt out of receiving emails about our events (or to reduce emails to a minimum) just click on the three dots at the top right of the screen, then click on "Email settings" or “Change email updates” and then you can tick (or untick) the box "New event announcements" and any other boxes you like, to indicate when (if at all) you want to receive emails from our group.  Even if you opt to receive no emails from our group you can always look here on our page now and then and check our "See all events” or “See all” section to see new events, to click to indicate that you are coming to an event, to check for any potential changes to existing events or to cancel your booking if you need to.  To see the full list of events, please click on "See all events". If you book to go to an event and then find that you can't go, that's not a problem but please do remember to click to change your RSVP from yes to no, so that the organiser of that event will know who's coming. "No shows" (i.e. booking to go to an event but not turning up and not changing the RSVP) can be very inconvenient for organisers and persistent 'no shows' may result in being removed from membership of our group.  If you'd like to explore some interesting posts and links to websites in Spanish, French or German, including links to news and cultural sites, a free online language learning app with free online courses in many different languages www.duolingo.com a huge range of online German resources www.learngermanonline.org a free online multilingual dictionary www.linguee.com European radio stations www.listenlive.eu town twinning www.reigatebansteadtwinning.co.uk or free online German courses with Deutsche Welle https://learngerman.dw.com/en/learn-german/s-9528 why not visit us on Facebook at “Reigate, Redhill & Caterham Language Café”.
