Cheltenham Salsa Dance Meetup
This is a group for anyone interested in meeting new people, having fun and getting fit whilst learning the exhilarating art of Salsa dancing. Book your place at www.salsasquad.com It's for people who have never danced before, have 2 left feet, but want to learn how to dance in a safe and friendly environment. Cheltenham has one of the most vibrant Salsa scenes in the South West. SALSA SQUAD hold Salsa lesson/dance nights on Mondays at Bishops Cleeve Tithe Barn. If it's your first time we will ease you in with a really fun and simple Absolute Beginners Salsa Class where you will learn the basic Salsa steps. We also hold classes at level 2 and level 3 for those who already know the basics. The classes are followed by Salsa dancing where you can practice your newfound skill to all the latest Latin beats. FAQ’s: Do I need a partner? No, you are welcome to come alone, with a partner or with friends. During the class you will rotate partners frequently, a great way of meeting new people. Is it Covid Safe? We respectfully ask that guests 'Test or Rest'. This means, if you: \* Are showing any symptoms of Covid \* Have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive \* Have tested positive in the last 10 days Please either take a lateral flow test before attending or rest up at home so you don't risk spreading the virus amongst fellow dancers. Yes, life has to go on, but we still need to put the health and welfare of others above our own entertainment. What should I wear, do I need special shoes? Salsa dancing is a Latin street dance so wear whatever you are comfortable in. Wear your normal going out shoes, but ones that won’t grip the floor (no rubber soles). Will other members of the public be watching? No, both venues are for people wanting to dance Salsa only, no general public. Full details at www.salsasquad.com

Evesham Over 45's Meetup

Evesham, Q4

Evesham Over 45's Meetup
Thank you for taking a look at our Group. We have been going since 2014 and we differ from a lot of other Meetup groups in that our ethos is all about making friends and enjoying activities together. For that reason, we ask members to attend an event at least once every 6 to 8 weeks, so that everybody in the group is an 'active' member. We normally meet for coffee/drink and a chat twice month to discuss what we would like to do at future events, and we now have a really varied selection of things to choose from. Nobody is expected to come to everything - that's not realistic - but the more events you can come to, the better. As our members come from Pershore, Redditch, Tewkesbury and Evesham we put events on in these areas so there is always somewhere new to go, and we try to encourage members to 'host' events, although this isn't as daunting as you might think - (not much more than a head-count really) and we are always happy to do that for you if you don't want to! Anybody who is 45 or over is very welcome. If you feel this group is for you, please join us, and start visiting places that just aren't any fun on your own, with your new friends. We look forward to meeting you soon. At our first AGM in 2015 it was decided that all members must put a photo of themselves on the site, together with your first and surnames on your profile - this is a closed group, so non-members will not be able to see names or photos. If you have a strong objection to putting your full surname on, an initial may be acceptable under certain circumstances. Without both of these, you will be asked to add them before joining. You may also like to know that we all pay a £12.00 subs fee annually – payable after your second event/meeting where you can decide if the group is for you or not. Members that don't attend meetings for a period of 2 months or more will be taken off the active list but can re-join (space permitting) at a later date if they find they have more time to devote to the group. And finally... All activities are undertaken at the member's risk. No responsibility will be accepted by the group or its members for mishaps of any kind!

Vale of Evesham Coworking Group

Evesham, Q4

Vale of Evesham Coworking Group
A small number of us in the local area have been meeting up to work remotely together and finding it helpful for productivity and use it as an opportunity to change things up from always working at the same few locations. This Meetup group is being set up to help test the water on bringing together other like minded individuals in the Vale of Evesham and surrounding areas who might like to get involved in something similar to the above. We imagine this group will be suited to anyone who would like to work alongside others that is not currently getting to as much as they might like. It could also be suited to individuals who are open minded enough to try something new that might be an improvement to their working day or working environment in some way. We are intending to arrange meet up events of usually around a couple of hours or so in locations where people will be able to meet, catch up and have a focused effort on something work related that they need to get done. The types of location you can expect events to be held at are coffee shops, coworking spaces, community centres or other business premises. There may also be some events that are run remotely and depending on the group that forms there could also be social activities that fit in to a lunch time or after work slot. All events could be an opportunity for anyone to network and find others they might be able to collaborate with if they are interested in that. The group is free to join but it's worth being aware that there is a monthly cost to setting up and running a Meetup group. Depending on how things go we might invite donations, look for sponsorship or see what members think to contributing in some way. The areas we've mainly worked in so far have been Evesham, Pershore and Droitwich but some of us have also met up with others in areas such as Cheltenham and Worcester. Other locations further afield may be of interest and we'll always be open to suggestions.
