This is a group for anyone who'd like to socialise more and make new friends in Abergavenny. It is NOT a dating platform (but if you happen to meet the love of your life, I'd like a wedding invitation, thanks!) We are a diverse bunch aged from 18 to 85 and we welcome all kinds of people from this lovely town and surrounding areas.

We are all social beings, and in need of social contact, company and support from time to time. However, many people experience social isolation and/or anxiety. I hope you will feel comfortable attending any of our events. If you experience any form of social anxiety and you think it would be helpful for me (Jo) to be aware, please drop me a note (in confidence). We can even agree some strategies to help things along, if you like. These might include a Skype introduction first, adding in some structure to the meetup, keeping the group small for that event etc.

PLEASE NOTE: If you attend events your photograph will probably appear on social media. Please let me know in writing (so I can remember!) if you do not want photos of you published!

Started in 2013 and mainly based around Cwmbran and Newport, events have included pub quizzes, ten pin bowling, escape rooms, games nights, meals out, theatre, walks, dance and cookery classes, crazy golf, Segway, zip wire, day trips (car sharing / mini bus), weekends away and holidays. This group is about goal setting, mind set, motivation and building the life you truly want to live!

As we look forward to 2021, many of us are reflecting on the fact that we feel a bit lost and at sea after this really strange year of 2020. Some may be reflecting on what our purpose in life is, what our roles and responsibilities in life should be or could be and how that might impact us in 2021. Thinking of 2021 from the perspective of the roles that we play in life can give us very interesting pointers as to where we could place our focus in the coming year. We can also look back and consider whether there are any areas in the past that may have some regret attached to them, or possibly even some guilt, and how we can deal with those issues in a way that will enable us to move forward. I'll help you consider your various roles and also to decide which of these roles could be your major priority for next year. We will define the goals separately for each significant role you play in your life and create a plan to start the next year with clarity and purpose! We want to make 2021 our best year yet. So let's work together and I look forward to meeting you at the online events and workshops which are held on a Zoom call.

We are a friendly bunch of people, and organise a variety of social events such as:

And once you get to know people there is the opportunity for more adventurous trips such as: escape rooms, paint balling, go ape... anything really!

In order to keep the group running on this site we do need to cover a subscription fee. We ask that you give £3 at your first event to the event organiser to pass on to me (Jen). Hopefully after this we should not need to ask for any more subscription fee, and you can carry on attending as many events as you like, and continue the friendships you have made.
