Meet new friends groups near Kent, CT

This is a group for women in the Torrington area to get together and develop platonic friendships. We will participate in local community events, dine in local restaurants, meetup for morning coffee or evening drinks, go for walks on local trails. The group is suited for married or single women.

The newest fitness craze with the oldest roots - dancing in lines, but not in boots and hats...Learn how to dance to all genres of music: pop, country, jazz, Irish, alternative, blues, while burning off calories and building muscle tone. Yes, we dance in lines, but we DANCE! Awesome exercise for both mind and body - great friends, great fun!!

Our meetup group schedules hikes regularly for both the advanced hiker looking for long and strenuous workouts as well as the less serious hiker looking for shorter and more moderate walks. We hike all the trails and preserves in the Litchfield County area and often venture into New York and Massachusetts. Our focus is on exercise, making friends, and appreciating nature. We usually follow each hike with a social gathering at a local eatery.

This group is unique in that there is strong emphasis on learning about the diverse flora and fauna of Connecticut's wooded habitats and its ecology. I recently completed the DEEP/Goodwin Forest Master Naturalist program and love sharing the things I find exciting about the areas we explore. I am also really interested in CT history. When I'm not leading hikes for Litchfield County Explorers, I guide hikes professionally for the Mayflower Inn in Washington, CT and internationally for Connecticut Audubon Society EcoTravel. I am certified as an AMC hike leader and in wilderness first aid from the National Outdoor Leadership School.

Anyone diagnosed with bipolar (type 1 and 2) or unipolar depression should join. we'll meet in my barn, tallk about mental health-related issues and try to help each other out, without attempting to take control of another person's personal treatment.

Whether you are an active trader, or curious about the opportunities to be found in the market and looking for ways to participate our group can get you started and is the right place for you! 

Our meetings are online enabling us to reach a larger geographical area and the convenience of attending from the comfort of our homes, trusty computers in front of us, trading program running. 

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month in an online venue easily accessible from your computer or smart device.

If you can walk, you can line dance! Lessons for all levels, both line and partner dancing. Learn how to line dance at our Sunday workshop and Monday and Tuesday lessons. We also hold open, all request line and partner dances - come practice what you have learned, and pick up a few more dances on the dance floor! We dance to country, as well as mainstream music, including pop, jazz, hip hop, rock, and even a few soul dances. Line dancing is a great way to meet awesome people of all ages, listen to fun, upbeat music, and even get in a good workout! Grab your boots (or ballroom shoes) and get your shine on...!!

You should join:
1. If you are female, into drones, and feel intimated by the overwhelmingly male to female ratio in our interest.
2. would like to meet other women who are also into DIY, drone tech, and whatever drone field you are into.
3. want to sit around with other women and talk drones. :)

Prospective members should a) reside somewhere in the Hudson Valley, b) spend an inordinate amount of time devoted to building, buying, modifying, crashing, and flying Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and c) are running out of buddies to spot your flights.(You live nearby and are devoted to household flying mowers).
It doesn't matter which aspect of drone fun floats your boat: FPV, DIY building, racing, freestyle, photography (and/or videography) or just casual cruising around. Everyone interested is welcome. Same goes for experience level(s); everyone - total beginner to aspiring pro - is, once again, completely welcome.
Though in the beginning (while the group is still in its infancy), meetings will consist of getting together on my reasonably large property and a mix of casual flying and casual social interaction. Once we have more than 4 or 5 members, we'll start planning activities, Q and As, "field trips", etc. Fun stuff based around drones. To kick things off, we'll meet on the first and third Saturday of every month, noonish to three PM. Please RSVP.

If you live in or near the Hudson Valley (NY), are passionate about any and/or all aspects of drone-related endeavors, this group is for you. While the majority of our members are mostly into FPV/racing and/or freestyle, anybody into drones is welcome.  This is a casual group, with the only hard and fast rules being 1) no children under 12 at any of our meetups, 2) no flying under the influence, and 3) kids under 16 have to be accompanied by an adult guardian. Our members range from rank beginners to expert pilots; experience level really doesn't matter. So far, we've had several meetups - - all of which consisted of social interaction combined with taking turns flying around my property [edit: we have added a near-regulation size gate course for our FPV members and will be employing that, or a very similar, course at future meetups. In addition, we are in the process of securing a larger, more interesting location for our next meet.]
