Most of the questions will not seem like they are science related but they will lead to a health/nutrition theme. I've used this format for an older Veteran's group and they have no science background and it went very well. **If you have a science background=great!! This is a group for people who want to get together to have a great time...singles male and female or couples.....we are geared to a variety of interest and activities.... We just want to have fun.....

We are looking for like minded Baby Boomers+ and Baby Bloomers (50 +) who want to be socially active, but being alone don't have a buddy to engage in a variety of activities. Some of the activities we have had range from attending Patriots Football games at a local venue to monthly oldies dances, theater, community activities, day trips, apple picking, music, mini-golf, dancing, fairs, dining out, and house party. This is a group for people of all ages, anywhere in MA/CT/RI (although most, but not all of our events take place in Worcester County MA) to come together and make friends, meet people and participate in a variety of activities. My hope is for everyone to actively participate and to be able to host a wide range of activities. For men traveling through middle and late life, our tendency to be lone wolves has its costs. Loneliness, sadness, and even depression invade our lives. What we need our like-minded men to talk to, to laugh with, to share ideas with, and even to lien on. A safe-zone without judgement where we can navigate life’s challenges and establish our rightful place as leaders in our families and society. This is a new effort to create a group of diverse men with a shared desire for conversation and friendship. Calling wine lovers who want to know more about wine, drinking it, of course, but also how to experience wine, tasting, pairing with food, etc. We want to have fun exploring together what works and what doesn't for each of us as we experience wines. We will meet once a month at a wine store or a home, restaurant, winery where we will select different wines to experience and then share our thoughts about it. We will invite wine experts, vintners, distributors, etc. who will share their expertise and develop ours. Best of all, we will meet new people who can share their experiences and knowledge.

The idea is to rent out screens at local theaters every month to show the most powerful movies available, free of charge, drawing from donations much like churches, synagogues, mosques or temples raise capital to cover expenses. Like the machine learning A.I. super intelligence in my story arrives at Godlike wisdom and benevolence by using the history of film as a wellspring of data to study and better understand the human condition, we too will watch the films of today with the viewing device of our own understanding to expand our consciousness and build beautiful dreams to defeat nightmares. This large gathering will help facilitate the connections to break up into smaller Earthpledge circles, where we can make deeper connections with each other on a more intimate level while also branching out on creative projects & potential filmmaking collaboration. Because I haven’t yet heard of any billionaires putting billions into the effort to make this happen.  I haven’t read about the most powerful filmmakers getting together and assembling the support for this plan of action to work. I haven’t seen any politician coordinating a mass mobilization to make this real. I’m definitely not like a Greta Thunberg, Martin Luther King Jr., or Gandhi of social mobilization, capable of moving masses of humans with just a single speech. So this may look a little crude to those always waiting for the refined eye and unparalleled genius of various movers and shakers of human history. Even though I feel inadequate to accomplish all this, I also feel convinced that it should exist! Do you love to travel but are limited by a need to travel solo (spouse won't travel, single, divorced, widowed)? We're experienced travel planners and this is the biggest complaint we hear. Simple **MUSTS** to participate in our paddles: 1. **A US Coast Guard approved PFD (Life Jacket) on and fully fastened** in accord with manufacture’s specifications. This is required for participation.  Inflatable PFD’s are NOT allowed.  Bring a whistle and 10 feet of rope. 2. **Be prepared to give your emergency contact number** to the host if he or she asks for it. 3. **Event start time is in your boat, in the water, and ready to paddle!**  Don’t count on the group to wait for you. 4. **Any paddle sport is an assumed risk sport.** The risk includes serious injury or death. Paddle Killingly, although safety conscious, cannot guarantee your personal safety. Your safety and comfort is YOUR job.  Having proper equipment and experience is YOUR job. Contact the Event Host if you have any questions. Paddle Killingly does NOT rent watercraft. 5. **Our Event Hosts may set rules specific to their events.**  Read the event descriptions.  Follow instructions given at the launch. Check your email and the Meetup site in the days prior to an event for weather or other updates.  In you change your mind about going, cancel in advance to avoid being marked a NO SHOW. If you have ANY questions, contact the host.  6. **Practice Clean, Drain, Dry** to help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. **Clean**: Inspect and remove all plants, fish, animals, mud, and debris from boat and anything else that touched the water previously. Rinse everything.  **Drain**: Eliminate all water from boat and all equipment.  Remove drain plug, tip and drain. **Dry**: Let your boat and equipment dry completely before launching in another body of water. 7. **Paddlers using Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUP)** must be experienced and must demonstrate that they are able to keep up with the group. **This group is governed by a core group of active and diverse members who plan and host events and guide the policies of the group.**  The energy and ideas of ALL our members are vital to the health of this group.  To host an event, volunteer for the committee or to offer your suggestions, click on the word 'Organizers' at the top of the home page and send us a message. **Member dues are $10 per year and are voluntary.**  They are used to pay the fee charged by Meetup.com to maintain the group and for our popular end-of-season pizza party.  Payment will be accepted at any of our events.  To pay by mail click on 'Organizers' and let us know.  We will send you the mailing address. **OTHER PADDLING OPPORTUNITIES:**  You may wish to join the Meetup group Southern New England Paddlers/SNEP which offers many more kayaking opportunities. Join us to meet people with common interests and practice your Italian language skills.   **What we're about** This group is for anyone learning or wanting the chance to speak Italian with others in person in the Worcester area. All levels are welcome with the idea that those more advanced will have patience with those less experienced. We would welcome native Italian speakers who are interested in practicing their English, helping others learn to speak Italian, or who just want to be with others who are interested in Italy and la lingua italiana! **What we do** Most of our meetings will be unstructured. The idea is to give participants an opportunity to practice speaking, but feel free to speak in English if that is what makes you comfortable. Also feel free to switch between Italian and English. The idea is to learn and to become comfortable with speaking, the hardest part of speaking a new language.
