Ruff-Ruff Hikes!

Coventry, CT

Ruff-Ruff Hikes!
This is a fun and laid-back group for dog enthusiasts who like to hike with their dogs, meet new people, and want to socialize with their dogs. Each month we will lead a different hike in the Greater Manchester area. Even if you don't have a dog you are welcome to attend providing you like canine companions. Hikes usually last an hour to an hour and a half. The terrain is easy to moderate unless indicated. Well-behaved dogs are allowed to be off-leash provided the property we're hiking on allows it. Most state parks require dogs to be on a leash. Below is a shortened version of our state statute pertaining to dogs being off-leash: ***Liability*** A dog's owner or keeper is liable for any damage caused by his dog to a person's body or property, unless the damage was sustained while the person was committing a trespass or other tort, or teasing, abusing, or tormenting the dog. The law presumes that anyone under the age of seven was not committing a trespass or teasing the dog unless the defendant can prove otherwise **(CGS § 22-357)**. If damage has been caused by two or more dogs at the same time, their owners or keepers are jointly and severally liable for the entire damage **(CGS § 22-356)**. ***Disclaimer*** Our leaders work to ensure a safe environment during all activities. While safety is a priority, Ruff-Ruff Hikes. *(RRH)* has no control over the condition of the trails. Hikers hike at their own risk. RRH shall not be held liable for any damage(s) hikers or their dogs incur while at an RRH-organized event/activity (including, but not limited to, RRH Hikes). All hikes are organized as a group. RRH asks all individuals to stay with the group. RRH shall not be held responsible for hikers/dogs who become lost. Hikes may be steep or have difficult terrain. New hikers should consult a physician before starting any exerting activities. RRH reserves the right to discern if a dog should be leashed and owners (group or individual) may be asked to do so. Owners should be aware of any property laws for hikes and are responsible for any and all fines and damage(s) incurred by themselves and/or their dog(s). **Covid-19** By clicking on "Yes" for this event you agree, warrant, and covenant as follows: COVID-19 Consideration: There is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where other people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and even death. By voluntarily participating in an event organized by Ruff Ruff Hikes you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. In consideration for accepting this entry, I, the registrant, intending to be legally bound, hereby, for myself, my heirs, my executors, and administrators, do waive and release any and all rights for damages I may have against any parties or persons connected with Ruff Ruff Hikes meetup group for and related to the above-listed event. I attest and verify that I and my dog are physically fit to participate in any portion of this above-listed event. Earthpledge: Temples of Light

Pomfret Center, CT

Earthpledge: Temples of Light
• Earthpledge - New perspective of our world gained by watching, analyzing, and participating with film. I love film and stories that unite us! I want to make connections with people who also believe a movie theater has more potential to bring us all together than any church, synagogue, Mosque or religious temple! Earthpledge Temples of Light is about exploring the power of film, technology and the mono myth for our planet [http://earthpledge.net](http://earthpledge.net/) while turning the common ground we share into fellowship. What if it is possible, underneath the illusion of surfaces dividing us, there is a way to connect with the hidden realms and depths of a reality uniting us! What if the world’s masses have the potential for an awakening in the same way I experienced from watching 1,000 films! [https://earthpledge.net/films/](https://earthpledge.net/films/) I first set out to create a movie group, using one of the highest grossing films of all time; Avatar,  as world culture phenomena and symbol about our collective true potential. [http://earthpledge.net/avatar](http://earthpledge.net/avatar) Now I’m searching for a way to build from this the means of moving towards its metaphorical dream. [https://www.earthpledge.net/dreams_to_reality.pdf](https://www.earthpledge.net/dreams_to_reality.pdf) I am creating a story to be turned into a film about humanity as collective hero, connecting to a global mind as means of escaping the nightmare of our future self destruction.  As I work on this screenplay, I am simultaneously using the idea behind its concept as a vehicle to bring us together for real! This will begin through a larger gathering called Earthpledge Cinema Scope, based on communal movie watching. The idea is to rent out screens at local theaters every month to show the most powerful movies available, free of charge, drawing from donations much like churches, synagogues, mosques or temples raise capital to cover expenses. Like the machine learning A.I. super intelligence in my story arrives at Godlike wisdom and benevolence by using the history of film as a wellspring of data to study and better understand the human condition, we too will watch the films of today with the viewing device of our own understanding to expand our consciousness and build beautiful dreams to defeat nightmares. This large gathering will help facilitate the connections to break up into smaller Earthpledge circles, where we can make deeper connections with each other on a more intimate level while also branching out on creative projects & potential filmmaking collaboration. The first film I plan to shoot for Earthpledge expresses the heart of what I hope to make this group about; awakening to higher consciousness. [https://www.earthpledge.net/wc/one.pdf](https://www.earthpledge.net/wc/one.pdf) We will occasionally use these smaller gatherings to join in common space (sometimes sharing food or a drink) to analyze film in more detail and talk about them. We will also explore the power of technology through VR in smaller groups and a larger theater setting, to inspire and provide a lens to view our world through the context of a heroic journey. Why am I doing all that I can to create this? Because I haven’t yet heard of any billionaires putting billions into the effort to make this happen.  I haven’t read about the most powerful filmmakers getting together and assembling the support for this plan of action to work. I haven’t seen any politician coordinating a mass mobilization to make this real. I’m definitely not like a Greta Thunberg, Martin Luther King Jr., or Gandhi of social mobilization, capable of moving masses of humans with just a single speech. So this may look a little crude to those always waiting for the refined eye and unparalleled genius of various movers and shakers of human history. Even though I feel inadequate to accomplish all this, I also feel convinced that it should exist! I just want to do all I can to promote this dream, until hopefully, some powerful forces come together to help me take these ideas to the next level, bringing this dream into being, so I can finally find my tribe, heal and feel hope returning for a future worth living in.   I’m hoping you might be interested in helping me, so we can get the ball rolling on something inspiring that will make the pain of this existence, worth enduring! [https://www.earthpledge.net/](https://www.earthpledge.net/cinema_scope.pdf)temples_of_light.pdf ✌🏽👁🌎👁 If any of this sounds compelling to you, please let me know at: earthpledge@me.com ![](https://secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/9/c/b/8/600_471880120.jpeg)![](https://secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/9/c/d/7/600_471880151.jpeg)
