The vision of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, founder of Sahaja Yoga, was that a global transformation can take place because with the rising of the Kundalini along the spine a person becomes extremely dynamic and at the same time extremely compassionate, kind and mild.

"When the Kundalini rises then you become thoughtlessly aware. That is meditative state. You do not do meditation. You get into meditation. We cannot do meditation. You have to be in that state. "
Shri Mataji, 1991-0416

"So when you stand in the present, you become thoughtlessly aware. And this state is the first state you achieve, and this is the state where you become absolutely peaceful within yourself. The peace is so great that you enjoy your peaceful existence. Not only that, but you become the source of peace. Wherever you go, you emit peace. We talk of peace. It is not possible without self knowledge to establish peace."
Shri Mataji, 1994-0712

"And the second state is when you become doubtlessly aware, where you are collectively conscious, absolutely conscious. You know what’s wrong with another person, and then you become a Sahaja Yogi where you know how to correct these centers within you and without."
Shri Mataji, 1991-0416

Doubt your beliefs? Have questions about changing or leaving your faith? You are not alone, and we are here to help. Learning how to live after questions, doubts, and changing beliefs is a journey. We at Recovering from Religion are intimately familiar with this path and are here to help you to cross that bridge. Our passion is connecting others with support, resources, community, and most of all, hope. The primary focus of a Recovering From Religion support group is to provide ongoing and personal support to individuals as they let go of their religious beliefs. This transitional period is an ongoing process that can result in a range of emotions, as well as a ripple effect of consequences throughout an individual’s life. As such the support meetings are safe and anonymous places to express these doubts, fears, and experiences without biased feedback or proselytizing. We are here to help each other through this journey. If you find you need to talk with someone before the meeting date, RfR has a hotline and online chat for that express purpose. Call (844) 368-2848 to speak with someone or go to [www.recoveringfromreligion.org](http://www.recoveringfromreligion.org) to chat online. If you’re seeking professional help, we can offer the Secular Therapy Project to provide options to connect with a professional therapist. All therapists have been thoroughly vetted by our organization and offer only evidence-based and non-religious treatment. Connect with them at [www.seculartherapy.org](https://www.seculartherapy.org).
