Hi! My name is Christie, and I am new-ish to North Georgia. After living in Southern California for 28 years, we moved to our forever home in Gainesville in early 2022. Starting over has been interesting...and a bit fun. **I would love to make more friends in the area.** **A little bit about me...** I'm in my late 40s, married, no kids, but 2 cute poodle mixes. My husband, Chris, and I moved to Gainesville so we could buy a larger house that both of our moms could move into with us. So it's four of us here starting our new adventure. Chris and I run our own business out of our home, and we've not had a traditional "job" with a boss since 2004! I like to say, we were the "gig economy" before that term even existed! LOL. **How I am picturing this group...** Currently, we play games once a month at least. Once we get enough critical mass, I'd love to get together for outings...dining out, seeing a movie together, a paint-and-sip party together, etc. We travel several times per year and would also love to make friends with others who want to join us sometimes! I don't care if you are single or coupled. I'm only picking an age range to hopefully pull together people with more in common, rather than to simply exclude people. The activities and outings will mostly be for adults, but if there is something we plan to do that will include the entire family, I'll be super clear about it. The name of this Meetup is simply Meetings at Goran - since most of the gatherings will happen at my place, and there will be a wide variety of topics and activities that would be hard to describe with a single title.

Some meetings will be focused on fun and social connections, and some on learning, in both experiential and presentation and discussion format. I intend to keep them fresh and new, and have something different every time. Most meetings will be facilitated by me, and I will also have guest presenters from time to time.

We will explore genuine human connecting and communication, ways to be more authentic, knowledge and wisdom, mindfulness, meditation, Tantra, science, spirituality, psychology, spiritual methods and traditions, etc. Similar gatherings in the past were known as Adventure of Personal Growth, Philosophy Group, and Urban Tribe Gatherings.
