Desi Friends in Georgia: millenials and genz edition
I want to bring young Desi crowd together and host cultural events, go on trips, go Hiking, experience seasonal activities, watch movies, explore more restaurants, and much more. If you recently moved here and willing to make new friends this group is the one!!! I am planning on hosting couple of events weekly so that people get to go out more often. If you actively participate in our meetup events, you will be added to our WhatsApp group which is specially for impromptu plans and hangouts. Group rules: 1. You need to attend atleast 1 event in the first 2 months after joining the group. 2. Be respectful to all the members of the group. Indecency or inappropriate behavior of any kind will not be tolerated 3. Please answer all the questions presented to you while joining the group seriously. If you fail to do this you will not be allowed in the group. 4. A profile picture is mandatory to join the group 5. Please do not use this group as a way to slide into girls' dm. If i recieve any such complain, i will have to remove this person from the group 6. Rsvp and no show for consecutive 2 times will result in removal from the group permanently. 7. For every event, if you RSVP and cannot join due to any reason, updating RSVPs accordingly is crucial. Failing to do so will result in removal. Repeating this will result in permanent removal. 8. Non active members ( 1 yr and up) will be removed permanently. 9. The organizers/ hosts are not liable for any injuries or accidents that happen during any of the events scheduled in the meetup.

The Georgia Companion Bird Society Parrot Meet Up

THIS IS A MEETUP GROUP FOR THOSE THAT LOVE THEIR BIRDS!

PLEASE NOTE -  DUE TO COVID-19, ALL MEETUPS FOR OUR GROUP HAVE BEEN CANCELLED THROUGH 2020. PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR PATIO DINING EVENTS COMING UP!

The Georgia Companion Bird Society (formerly known as The Georgia Cage Bird Society) was formed in 1955, and is a club for devoted parrot & bird owners/lovers. Our meetings are held monthly at the Smyrna Community Center in Smyrna, GA. Our purpose is to bring parrot people together for education, fun, networking and friendship, & as an "ADOPT DON'T SHOP" organization, our focus goal is to support and collaborate with Georgia and other state 501(c)(3) parrot/bird rescues and sanctuaries, and help the hundreds of surrendered or unwanted rescue/sanctuary birds find safe and loving homes.

Our monthly meetings include educational presentations by local Avian Veterinarians as well as various individuals with expertise in specific parrot/bird species. Many of our meetings are social events, but ALL of our meetings are solely for the birds, meaning that your healthy, clipped or harnessed well-mannered feathered kids are welcome to accompany you to the meetings!

Our "birdie" attendees ranges from the tiniest of Finches to the largest of Macaws & every kind of bird in between. In addition to the meetings, we have Spring and Fall bird picnics at Red Top Mountain, field trips, & separately from the club, many of us enjoy "Birds' Brunches or Dinners Out" at various patio restaurants in the Atlanta area.

If you want to have fun & make friends with others that are bird-crazy, this is the club for you! Please support the Georgia Companion Bird Society with an annual renewable membership:

Individual Membership: $25.00 - Family Membership: $30.00 - Monthly Membership: $5.00

Whether you're a seasoned marathoner or someone who only runs when being chased, you're welcome here. We embrace all paces, from the gazelles to the "I'll get there when I get there" crowd. Our Schedule? Wednesday evenings we now alternate between Skint Chestnut Brewery and Downtown Douglasville. Saturdays we alternate between Sweetwater Creek State Park and Silver Comet Trail at Linear Park Wednesdays @ Skint Chestnut Brewery in Powder Springs: Meet at 6:30pm for a 1 hr run along the Silver Comet Trail. Social hour afterwards at the brewery. Bring your own food or grab a snack at the adjacent restaurant, SGC Chicken and Seafood. Wednesdays @ Downtown Douglasville: Two start times for twice the fun! For those who want a little extra mileage, we kick things off at 6:00 PM from the fountain in downtown Douglasville (free parking in the parking deck). Then, we circle back to the fountain at 6:30 PM for a solid 3.5 mile run around downtown. All skill levels are welcome at either start time, and the real reward comes afterward—pizza at Fabiano's! Because we believe the best way to refuel is with carbs and laughter. Saturdays at 8:00 AM: Mornings are for adventure! We'll alternate between the scenic Silver Comet Trail in Powder Springs and the natural beauty of Sweetwater Creek State Park in Lithia Springs. So, whether you like your trails paved or rugged, we’ve got you covered. Silver Comet Linear Park location has free parking and Sweetwater State park has a $5 entrance fee. Why Join Us?
Because running is more fun with friends, and we promise our group is more fun than most! Here, you’ll find laughs, encouragement, and maybe even some questionable advice on whether that new energy gel is actually edible. So, lace up those shoes, bring your best bad jokes, and join us for some miles, smiles, and of course—pizza! See you on the trail or road!
