Meet Friends for 20s - 30s

Chicago, IL

Meet Friends for 20s - 30s

Meet Friends is part of MPCEvents, Chicago's largest social group. All our events have 60 - 120 people in attendance, most who are new to the city and many come solo. Find out why we have connected thousands. Be a member for as low as $9.99 a month and go to most of our events for free!

"Peter - I want to say thank you. All my good friends and the love of my life, I have met through your events. Now I have a beautiful baby and it's all because of you!" - Jill

"Before I found out about your events, I stayed home and was a loner. Now I find myself being a social butterfly. My confidence level has never been higher. I've met so many friends and wonderful people. Thank you for what you have done!" - Sarah

"Peter, you probably don't remember me but I went to last year's Division Street Bar Crawl. I met this girl from Dubai and I had the week of my life. I just want to say thank you." - Tall young guy

The three above comments were made by our members. These are just three out of hundreds I have gotten over the last several years. It's hard to explain to people over a web page on why we're different and why I started this group in the first place. And to be honest, it's almost impossible to explain. I see so many comments on Meetup about how to meet people, on doing a "pre-meetup" before a meetup, on how to even show up at an event. It's because these people have never been to my events. And they think, accurately for the most part, that it's not just hard to meet people, but scary too. Who wouldn't be? But our meetups are not like any others. We're genuine, authentic and real. All our members are no different than other meetups that are disappointing but what makes us different is in our culture. We are an inclusive, friendly and social group. Why and how? Because we created this culture since our first meetup 4 years ago. And since then thousands have been to our events, thousands more have connected, hundreds have met their best friends and even over a dozen have gotten married. Yup, all this because of a passion to connect others. Read my two blogs and you will understand why I did all this: How It All Started and Creating a Phenomenon.

Now, creating all these events hundreds of them a year so we can connect thousands of Chicagoans take much effort and time. That's why for the most part we charge a small fee, usually $10 for our events for our hosting and organizing services as well as event expenses. Or if you want to save money, subscribe for just $9.99 a month and go to our events at no extra charge. We hope you understand for a small amount we are able to change lives for the better.

So, don't worry about meeting people here. I guarantee you that you will have a good time and that you will meet interesting people. If you are still nervous (and it's okay) just direct message me and I will try my best to answer your questions.

-Peter Shen, Founder of MPCEvents

Welcome to New Bar Meet Friends Every Two Weeks for 20's and 30's!  We are one of the fastest growing meetup groups.  Why?  Simple.  Unlike other social meetup groups, where they recycle 2-3 places, we will actually do what we promise to do in our name; new bar, meet friends, every two weeks.  Awesome and Brilliant!

We are an adventurous group.  Besides meeting new people and making new friends, we actually explore Chicago by going to new neighborhoods, trying out new bars, new beers, and new drinks.  If you are a fun, outgoing, and friendly person, this meetup is for you.  Or if you like to be more fun and adventurous, join us too!  You will be among friends.

Every two weeks, young professionals come together to drink, socialize and to explore Chicago.  For example, have you always wanted to visit a Chicago neighborhood but never gotten the chance?  Always wanted to do a pub crawl with an awesome group of people?  Check out rooftop bars, riverfront bars, beer gardens?  How about something different like Jazzin' at the Shedd?  Hanging out with friends at a street festival?  Heck, how about going to the most fun block party in Chicago?  Yes! Yes! Yes!

In short, New Bar outings are the best social events to meet people and make new friends.

Join us and RSVP to our events to see how much fun you'll be having.  Our unique events are always packed and our members always have a great time.  We're all cool and friendly.  In fact, many of our members are already friends.  At the minimum you'll be having a great time exploring Chicago (for real!) and meeting new people.  C'mon and hop in the fun train!

New Bar events are hosted by MPCEvents.com.  Welcome to the Phenomenon.

Chicago Social Events: Get Out, Meet People & Make Friends

Chicago, IL

Chicago Social Events: Get Out, Meet People & Make Friends

Chicago Social Events will be putting together tons of events for 20-30 somethings that focus on one thing: Meeting people and having fun. Well, that's kind of two things...Our group will live by the motto "A good time is all about who you share it with". I've been putting up our events in other Meetup groups for the past several months and have seen amazing turnouts with such great people, so now it just makes sense to create my own!

We'll be organizing groups to do things like happy hours, trivia nights, visit museums, go to comedy shows, plan trolley crawls, wine tastings, tournaments, play in rec sports leagues and more! Does this sound like every other group on Meetup? Well it's definitely similar, but I'm really good at getting good deals for everyone and coming up with unique events that have recently been bringing out large groups of people that simply want to get out more and meet others. So if you're fresh in town (welcome!), are looking to make some new friends, and/or simply just want to spice things up and do something other than sitting in a bar with the same ol' folks, we're gonna be that spice.

I also run S3 Simply Social Sports Leagues (s3leagues.com), which offers THE BEST coed rec sports leagues in the city. Sure I'm biased, but the sweet thing is they really are amazing. These leagues allow you to join by yourself or with friends and we create teams by age group for anyone aged 21-42, with post-game festivities at a near-by bar. These leagues welcome all skill levels. Rather than a one time event, these leagues last 5-8 weeks and allow you to foster stronger relationships as you come together every week during the season. Being new to town myself years ago, I made all my best friends by joining a coed softball team. I knew I could make it better, and now many years later with tens of thousands of past alum, tons of new friends made, couples formed, and several marriages! Sometimes the best connections come from simply expanding your social circle and getting out more. This is our goal, and we're excited to see you at an event or league!

Cheers, Ben

Exploring Chicago with Friends!

Chicago, IL

Exploring Chicago with Friends!
Welcome to our fun & active group! Whether you are new to Chicago or have been around awhile, by becoming a member of this group you will get a chance to explore the Chicago area beyond what the typical Chicago area resident normally does. It is like being a tourist in your city, as we discover a lot of hidden gems and unique experiences . This is a sister group to the original, 1001 Things to See in Chicago Before You Die so we will be doing a lot of joint events together. We want to have a club where we can have many enjoyable events; giving you the opportunity to meet new people while partaking in unique & diverse outings all over Chicagoland. This will also be a year round group as winter does not slow us down! Annual dues are $12 per member. You get a 90 day free trial to see if you like the group! If you decide to become an event host, then your annual dues are waived. We are an extremely active and social group with a wide range of activities all over Chicago. Most of our events take place in Chicago or nearby suburbs like Evanston, Oak Park and Park Ridge. ALL events are accessible by public transportation, which is why we mainly focus on Chicago. Please note that we also have a firm 3 strikes, no show policy. If you do not show up for an event without updating your RSVP, you earn a strike. After 3 strikes, you are put on 3 months suspension. We do not want to be disciplinarians but are trying to keep things fair and fun for all our members. If you have any questions about the group, suggestions on events or, would like to lead an outing, please let me know. Those who host an event, get their annual dues waived. Chicago New in Town (or not so new)

Chicago, IL

Chicago New in Town (or not so new)

This is a group for folks who have just moved to Chicago, or who aren't originally from here. If you've chosen to make Chicago your home, it's a great place to be- there's lots of friendly faces, tons of culture, and so much to do. Join us for chances to meet new people and get to know this new city.

We have a discussion group on facebook, if you would like to join and discuss upcoming event ideas and things like that: https://www.facebook.com/groups/889303217815912/
Anyone can join, so please come on by!

If you've been here a while, or even if you're a native Chicagoan, you are certainly welcome. After all, it's nice to have a bit of a guide in checking out this wonderful, cosmopolitan city.

For those of you who want to know:
Is this a singles group? No, not exclusively. People might meet others to date, certainly, but that's not the point of this group.
Is this a networking group? Again, not exclusively, but if you make some good business connecting or find a job through this group, that's great!
Is this a Chicago-centric group? Yes. It's just easier to focus the group on the city area. Events outside the city are welcome, but be aware that the majority of folks on this group are likely to live within the city itself. Thanks.

Chicago Asperger Adults & Friends

Skokie, IL

Chicago Asperger Adults & Friends
This group is built around peer-run support groups for adults who are on the autism spectrum or have neurodiverse conditions or learning disabilities with similar social effects (e.g. nonverbal LD, social-emotional LD or social communication disorder.) \- No formal diagnosis necessary to join\. \- Groups are lead by an adult on autism spectrum or with other neurodiverse conditions\. \- No therapist or other professional support is present at meetings\. The site currently features the GRASP Chicago Support Group, Autism and Neurodiversity in the Workplace Group, and other social gatherings in Chicago and its suburbs. Given that restrictions and health risks related to COVID-19 made in-person indoor support groups impractical for the near future, the group has transitioned to online support group meeting and in-person gatherings at local parks/forest preserves. Basic policies for meetings are posted in the group discussion section of this site. Once you have joined, please read the "Basic Online Policies: GRASP Chicago-Evanston Support Group" post on the Chicago Asperger Adults & Friends Discussion Forum or you can access it here: [https://www.meetup.com/aspergerchi/messages/boards/thread/52791986](https://www.meetup.com/aspergerchi/messages/boards/thread/52791986) Chicago Asperger Adults & Friends welcomes relatives, professionals, and other friends of adults on the autism spectrum to join this site in hopes that we forge new connections between autism spectrum adults and other parts of the autism community. Members are welcome to use this site’s message boards and other messaging services to connect with each other. **Additional note on privacy:** Although members can join the Meetup site under an alias, members are required to share their full name and a piece of contact info (either email or cell #) with the Meetup organizer in order to receive Zoom links or exact locations to in-person events. This information is not shared with other group members, but the organizer needs it for accountability purposes.
