We are not just for people new to Franklin!  The Franklin Newcomers & Friends Club is a social and charitable organization for residents of Franklin, MA and the surrounding towns.  We like to have fun, learn new things, spend time together, and give back to the community through volunteer activities and fundraisers.  We offer a variety of activities for our members organized by our members.  Past events have included:  movie nights, dinners out, hiking/walking, trips to the theater, and many more!! Our major fundraiser of the year is our annual Craft Fair which has been held for over 40 years. Members are asked to volunteer for shifts at the Craft Fair- many hands make light work! The majority of the proceeds from the Craft Fair are donated to local charities as voted on by Club members. Membership in this Club is limited to members who have paid the annual dues to the Franklin Newcomers & Friends Club via Meetup. To join simply submit a request to join for a 2 week for trial. We are a fun group. You can find us dancing away after a meal of Chinese at Chopsticks. We do some hiking, karaoke, live music, local community gatherings, line dancing lessons and more. We are open to trying new things. We have a book club, a trivia night, and various other events to keep up young! This goal of this group is to meet new friends and have fun. If you are interested in someone romantically, send them a DM and date them outside of the group. Nobody should feel uncomfortable at an event. To be in this group, you must be able to commit to respecting all people in the group, and be open and welcoming to our members. In our group, we do not discuss politics or other contentious topics as we are among mixed company. You should ONLY sign up for events you plan to attend and if you have a pattern of signing up and cancelling at the last minute, the leadership team will bring that to your attention. You are allowed one "freebee" no-show. You will receive a warning. If you are a no-show again, you will be removed from the group without a refund on dues. The New England School of Fine Art (NESFA) is a newly formed organization located on the ground floor in the 51 Union Street Building in Worcester Massachusetts. NESFA offers year-round studio art classes and workshops taught by experienced professional artists. Studio art classes and workshops include day, evening, and weekend classes and workshops for all ages.
