We hope to foster more land-based relationships with visual artists through the exploration of local materials for art making. This group is for everyone interested in foraging, processing, and using pigments from earth, minerals, and native plants. We welcome folks working with natural dyes and clays in ceramics, although this group will mainly focus on Pigments used in drawing materials, inks, and paint. Whether you're a seasoned artist, craftsperson, historian or just curious about natural pigments, come learn and create with us.

The Franklin Newcomers & Friends Club is a social and charitable organization for residents of Franklin, MA and the surrounding towns. The majority of the proceeds from the Craft Fair are donated to local charities as voted on by Club members. New England Mixed-Media Meetup Group

Join other local artists in working on all kinds of art.

We began as a group focused on Artist Trading Cards (ATCs), which are small (3.5- x 2.5-inch) works of original art. We've expanded into all kinds of other mixed-media genres, such as altered books, art journals, painting, stamping, collage, and more. (See "About Us" for much more detail.)

Our group is open to adult artists and craftspeople (you must be 18+ to join) at all experience levels. Our current members range from professional artists to near-newbies. We offer a variety of demos at our monthly Meetups in Natick, and we're looking to meet more frequently and in other locations. Everyone is welcome at our events—we just ask that you RSVP to let us know you're attending.

This group, which began in mid-2007, has quickly evolved into a lively, highly creative community. As one member puts it: "You feel like you're 'in the flow' from the moment you walk in the door." And yet it's not all about self-expression: Without exception, members have been extraordinarily generous about sharing ideas, techniques and tools.

New England Light Painters & Creative Photographers

New England Light Painters (NELP) was formed by a group of art-focused photographers in January 2006. If you'd like to improve as an artist, and would like to be involved in the artist photographer community, this is a great group to join. Recent meetings have been virtual, and future meetings will be hybrid once we can safely meet in person. NELP's goal is to support the photographic artist community. We have a monthly Image Review, where we review each others' images and offer each other support, ideas and encouragement. We draw on many of the principles in The Artists' Way (recommended reading) by Julia Cameron. We schedule Education Nights and Special Events as topics are identified and organizers volunteer to help out. Membership is free, and there is no cost for most meetings. There may be a small fee for some special events, to cover the cost of a guest speaker or venue (e.g. Museum of Fine Art).
