Let's Make New Friends ~ Waltham Social 20's to 40's

Waltham, MA

Let's Make New Friends ~ Waltham Social 20's to 40's
I've been organizing this first general social Waltham Meetup group for 7 years now. It's grown through FB now also. Can't wait to meet you all 💕 A group for people in their 20's-30's-mid 40s within Waltham/Newton and surrounding areas to connect and get to know each other when we don't want to head into downtown Boston. Make new friends, explore the different restaurants/pubs in the area, join our book club events, our walking/hiking events in the summer and explore similar interests. The goal of the group is to hopefully make meaningful connections along the way and build some friendships. Or have a fun time out socializing in a world these days where we get less of that each time. So let's get to it and let's meet some new people today! Some FAQ’s about the group and details in general: A. A picture may be taken of our event by attending our Meetup event you consent to it being taken and posted only to our Meetup and private FB group. B. Member Photos: We require profile photos of yourself in order to be accepted into the group. This helps event organizers identify you and find you during events and be able to help you out should you need help finding the group. C. Fees from paid events: Keeping in mind that organizers have to pay for the organizer membership in order to keep the group running and make events these fees go to offset the current $380 membership. If at any moment, there's any extra we'll be putting it back into the events for the members. Fundraising for the group is always appreciated. It only goes to offsetting costs of paying for the organizer membership. I'm trying to also include events free of cost to provide affordable options for people. Help me keep it this way if you found value in any of the events you participated in 🩷 D. Refund Policy: 1\. Events with a fee of less than $5: Please note that the fee for this event is non-refundable, even if someone else takes your spot. This small fee helps the Meetup organizer cover the $380 membership cost and serves as a thank-you for their time and effort in organizing these events. It also helps ensure that those who RSVP are genuinely interested and committed to attending, reducing "no shows" and last-minute cancellations after reservations have been made. Thank you for understanding and supporting the group! 2\. Events with a fee greater than $5: These would usually involve ticketed events\. The general policy is if the Organizer/Host can get their money back\, you’ll get your money back \- if you timely canceled\. Once an event location has been paid\, however\, many times they won’t issue a refund\. If they don’t refund us\, we can’t refund you regardless of how far in advance you canceled\. That said\, sometimes a refund can be issued IF you cancel at least a week in advance AND someone takes your spot\. If you want to request a refund\, message the event host via Meetup to discuss\. Please note\, if you cancel the day before or the day of an event\, there are no refunds \- regardless of the reason and regardless if someone takes your spot\. E. No show policy: we understand things unexpected things happen, and plans can change. Organizers take time and effort out of their free time to plan these activities for everyone and plan around a certain number of people and it's disrespectful to them to be left waiting for people who aren't coming. They can also run into reservation issues with restaurants that have been kind enough to accommodate for us. That's why we politely ask everyone to change their RSVP to “no” if they can't make it or message the organizer ahead of time. We'll implement a 3-strike no-show rule before removing a member from the group. F. Event Organizers/Suggestions: This group is looking for event organizers and assistants, as well as suggestions or ideas for upcoming events. If you're interested in a position, even if temporary to try it out, or have ideas for upcoming events please feel free to reach out to the main organizer. E. Join us on FB: https://www.facebook.com/groups/walthamsocialya/ \~More events offered on our FB group please join us above if you're interested.\~

New England Dog Friendly Day Trips, Getaways, Gatherings

Hudson, MA

New England Dog Friendly Day Trips, Getaways, Gatherings

Please read this entire page prior to joining New England Dog Friendly Day Trips, Getaways, Gatherings.

This group is for dog lovers who would like:

- Weekend getaways with your dog

-Attending day trips that are dog friendly

- Exploring New England with your furry friend

-Socializing with others that love their dog

-Participating in fun dog friendly events

-Or just spend an afternoon together

If you are like me, your dog is a very important part of your life.

I love to be outdoors and exploring new places, but most meetups that I belong to don't offer a lot of dog friendly excursions. Through my research I have found many great places to go, events to attend, and overnight getaways to participate in with my faithful companion. Join us on some of these adventures!

Only well behaved, socialized dogs and their humans are welcome to join. If you like the company of dogs ( and their humans) and don't have a dog in your life at the moment, you are welcome to join us as well.

Please post a current photo of you, or you and your dog, so that we can recognize you at an event!

If you are a no-show on 2 or more events, you will be removed from the group. Simply update your RSVP if you cannot attend, so that someone else can attend. A no-show is when you do not attend an event that you RSVP'd yes for, and do not change your RSVP to indicate that you will not attend.

Rules:

1)If you choose to let your dog(s) off-leash, you are responsible for the dog's actions according to the terms of the Liability Waiver. You also agree to be responsible for any fines that may be incurred due to a breach of rules of the organization owning or responsible for the meetup location.

2) Dogs are expected to be well behaved and under owner control at all times. This group is for well socialized dogs only! We are not the venue for dogs that are learning how to socialize! The Meetup organizer reserves the right to remove or limit participation of members in any event due to a members inability to control their dogs behavior, including excessive barking, making others in the group feel uncomfortable in any way, aggressive behavior, or any behavior that exhibits lack of control of the dog, or causes another dog to feel unsafe.

If your dog barks excessively, any restaurant  event may not be appropriate for your dog. Let's face it! All dogs will bark! Barking within reason is expected!  Excessive barking is when your dog continues to bark and will not stop even when you use a voice command to attempt to stop his/her barking. Please be prepared to remove your dog from the event, if you cannot control his/her barking. It is not fair to other patrons of the establishment who are trying to enjoy the venue as well. We want to be invited back to a chosen venue, and do not want to jeopardize that in any way!

If your dog has an incident of aggressive behavior, causes other dogs or people in the group to feel uncomfortable in an way, you will be removed from the group.

3) You agree to take personal and financial responsibility for any damages to property, people or other dog(s) caused by your dog(s) or any dog(s) you have brought to the meetup.

4) By becoming a member of this group, you are confirming that your dog does not have any history of behavioral issues or aggressiveness.

5) Dogs must be leashed at all times. Retractable leashes, shock collars, choke collars are not allowed. Any type of restraining collar is not permitted. If your dog needs a shock collar or choke collar, this group is not for you and your dog. Off leash walks are not encouraged.

6) This meetup is about having fun and meeting new friends. Please be kind and respectful of others at all times. I am not responsible for the actions of others, and cannot be held responsible for members actions. Any complaint about an individual will result in removal from the group.

7) Please understand that this is a public meetup group. We take lots of photos and add them to the Meetup site. Please let us know in advance if you do not want to be photographed.
