We are a fun group. You can find us dancing away after a meal of Chinese at Chopsticks. We do some hiking, karaoke, live music, local community gatherings, line dancing lessons and more. We are open to trying new things. We have a book club, a trivia night, and various other events to keep up young! This goal of this group is to meet new friends and have fun. If you are interested in someone romantically, send them a DM and date them outside of the group. Nobody should feel uncomfortable at an event. Don't let the word "racing" scare you away. Looking for a group of people interested mostly in the journey of adventure racing. Adventure races include hiking, biking, paddling, and sometimes orienting through a series of checkpoints within a certain amount of time. For weekend warrior adventure racers there are 4, 8, 24, and 30 hour races available within various driving distances within and beyond New England. Ideally, there will be enough people in the group that there are many opportunities to participate as everyone will have different availability on any given race weekend.

Surround Sound encourages all women to find their voices as choral/quartet performers and as individuals through the development of their vocal abilities in a friendly group setting. As the Surround Sound chorus, we are a performing and competing chorus.  We meet once a week on a Monday night at 6:30 pm in the Community Room at the Wakefield apartment building on the corner of Cross and Pine Streets. Come and make new friends, have fun, revel in the sound of four-part harmony and let your voice soar!  There is some cost to being a part of our group, just as there is a cost to going out to dinner and a movie in some other groups.  We strive to make it affordable to everyone who wants to participate. *Please note: We are asked to perform at local events quite often. It is always best to check here for location of meetings/events. You can also contact the group coordinator to confirm where we will be on any given Monday night.*

Rail Trail Cycling Adventures
This group is for like-minded people who are active and are 40-50 years old or older. We are enjoying the journey of our adventures and taking our time. We are a group who wants to meet new friends and participate in groups activities. We keep our event attendance at no more than 8-12 cyclists allowing all attendees to have interaction with each other. You will not find a large cycling event in this group.  We also ride at a slower pace of 6-10 mph and take multiple breaks to rest or for scenic vistas. We primarily have events on the the weekends or Thursdays (spring and fall). Let's explore the wonderful rail trails of New England by bicycle (primarily Southern NH, and rail trails 90 minutes from Jaffrey, NH that will include trails in Massachusetts). Learning the history of the rail trails along the way. Explore nature walks, beautiful gardens and scenic areas of New England. Perhaps some easy hikes or yoga. The focal events will primarily be biking on rail trails. The secondary events will be nature walks. Winter activities will be offered - snowshoeing, skiing or snowboarding, and easy winter hikes. **Donations welcome to offset cost of the organizer dues. Current dues for the organizer is $199 year. No obligation but if you feel obliged you can give a donation to the organizer of this meetup group. At the current time we do not plan to charge dues for membership.** **GUESTS:** Please contact the event organizer if you would like to bring a guest. All guests must abide by this meetup groups policies. We are Women Over 50 Outdoors! We welcome new ladies to join us on our local hikes and bike rides. We are a year round outdoor group which will include winter hiking in easy terrain on snowshoes. Our spring/summer/fall hikes are planned for easy nature walks at a easy/casual pace and summit hikes that are classified as easy to easy-moderate at a pace of 1 to 1.5 mph. We also plan to offer cycling on rail trails. All abilities welcome. If you love being outdoors and like the company of other women, we urge you to check us out! We invite you to join us for our several social events throughout the year as well. If you have suggestions for a future event that you would like to see offered reach out to the organizer or leadership team. We're located in North Central Mass and Southern New Hampshire. Our events will primarily be in North Central Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire (mostly Monadnock region). **Event/membership rules** * Clear Photo of you that shows your face. If you change your profile photo during your membership that is not of you such as scenery or no photo at all you will not be able to attend an event. People interested in learning or who are active wood carvers should stop by. We meet in the area three times a week. If you are new to carving or wish to learn, we will help you get started. You do not need to bring anything to the first meetings, we will lend you tools and some wood. After that, you can be well set in this hobby for just over $100. Current members (about 25) range in skills from brand new to some of the best carvers in the world. We meet at the Westminster Senior Center, 69 West Main Street (just off route 2) Tuesday evenings from 5 pm to 8 pm and from 9 am until noon on Thursdays. I would like to think of this new group as a "flash mob" for volunteering:) By further definition, a large group of people that commit to volunteering for one day - at a pre-determined time - at a deserving non-profit. Each month we would choose a different entity to "angel". It is my hope that we can offer a day to go out and complete a wish list - making a big impact in one swoop. The wish list can be anything from painting a room, cleaning, landscaping, moving, setting up cages, helping with a fundraiser etc. No experience necessary - just a desire to make a difference in the world. As a former volunteer director at a non-profit, I know that EVERYONE has a skill to offer that can make a difference. Come flaunt your skills for a good cause and meet some nice, like-minded people in the process:)!! My personal obsession is with animal rescue and shelters but I also feel that cancer relays, battered woman's clinics, veterans programs, food pantry's, senior citizens (to name a few) are all worthy groups/causes for us to consider too. It is my goal for every member to have a say and to know that their opinion is valued. While this group is for adult volunteers 18+, I would also like to have family volunteering days on occasion, when appropriate. I think it is important to teach children empathy and personal responsibility - volunteering is a great way to do that. A final note: If you have been thinking about volunteering but do no know where to start, this may be your perfect opportunity to "try out" numerous organizations to find your perfect match. On the flip side, some of you may actually prefer helping out all kinds of causes rather than just a single non-profit. You may have a crazy schedule that only allows you to volunteer a couple of days per year - that is OK too. Sign up for whatever catches your interest on a date that works for you. Your effort and enthusiasm will always be welcome and appreciated:)!!

Central Mass Art Club is a relaxed meetup group that allows people to come together once a month and draw. If the weather is nice we'll meet outside. If not, we will at a public place. You may use whether medium you prefer. This is completely relaxed so come for an hour or stay for the whole time. You can draw the scene around us, work on your own art work or simply meditate. All levels are welcomes. Some meetings will be outside, so please dress appropriate for the weather, if you have a chair please bring one. Welcome to The Fitchburg Pilots Association, EAA Chapter 1454 located at Fitchburg MA Municipal Airport (KFIT).

PLEASE NOTE: This Meetup site is available for viewing by anyone interested in our activities. We encourage you to visit here anytime, see what we do and attend our chapter meetings. We use this site to schedule chapter activities and membership is limited to current members of Fitchburg Pilots Association/EAA Chapter 1454 (FPA) and their guests. This meetup will function as a philosophy based book club in which we would read entire books or segments of books and then meet in Peterborough to talk about what read about. If people are interested, then I think we could start with something like Plato's Republic and then move forward. However, we could also come up with new books to read at the end of meetings too. My experience is primarily working with western philosophy, but eastern thought is more than welcome too. Really, any area of philosophy is welcome!  Again, I would like to meet in Peterborough.
