Bel Air South MD 1st Edition AD&D
Bel Air South MD 1st Edition AD&D Campaign is a long running campaign (13 years now) focused on gameplay and good times. We want you to play! Bring your own miniature for your character - you'll need it! We play in Greyhawk and focus on Gygax's works and home-made dungeons virtually exclusively. Long term character growth is emphasized, with roleplay welcomed but not mandatory. Characters do die, but it's a rather unusual event. The DM has been playing since 1979 (I am 54…) and running campaigns since the early 1980s. If you prefer another edition, we understand that. However, we don't really want to be pressured into playing a game we don't prefer, so if you feel strongly about things like hit location, attacks of opportunity or spell points, you might find another group more amenable. The strengths of 1E are that it is very freeform and allows any situation to be covered using your brain rather than some obscure rule, which the DM and players mostly find much more entertaining than complex rules. You might too. In 2017, we switched to the Adventures Dark and Deep rules.  These rules are more or less compatible with 1e AD&D, so if you have the original books, you can still play.  The main changes are in additional class options and a few odds and ends we can familiarize you with when you come to play.  Or, you can get the rules from BRW Games itself on drivethrurpg.com. The group has been composed of adult professionals.  Some are married couples. We have had a hardcore group in the past that attend normally, but there are always people moving in and out of the area or job/personal requirements to get in the way, meaning we have room for more players, usually. Follow the link to register for the game…and remember that spots are on a first come, first served basis. If you are very young, meaning perhaps younger than 30, you'd probably not prefer this venue. We won’t be much fun by your standards. My daughters used to play when they were teenagers and found it um, less appealing than hanging out with their friends. I do feed the players, and we’ll let you know what I am making before the event. It's a full tummy and gaming experience. Bring along your favorite foodstuffs if you wish. We generally do not drink while we play, except at specifically announced holidays. Usually, we'd play Cards Against Humanity on those holidays anyway... The DM is not a fan of Virtual Tabletops (VTT) so I have just left the Discord for chatting. The not-in-person gaming leaves something to be desired. Our mascot is Toivo the cat.
