Work From Home Wellness Group (Portland, Maine Region)
Are you working from home and missing in-person connections? This group is for you if you’re seeking new ways to connect and build community while you are working from home. We will meet monthly and the group will serve to support your mind, body, and spirit wellness. This is all about connection with yourself and with others in your community. Public health officials have declared that we are in a loneliness epidemic. While so many are loving increased flexibility related to working from home, there is a cost: less in person social interaction. This can lead to loneliness for many. Maybe the chats around the water cooler are a thing of the past but what if we come together and create new ways to connect?! These monthly gatherings are for all you remote workers in the Portland area! It’s a great opportunity for: * Anyone working from home seeking to build community and expand their local network * Solopreneurs who are feeling isolated * Those in between jobs looking to build community and network My name is Julia Maslen and I will facilitate these monthly virtual gatherings. I am a community builder, therapist, and intuitive healer who is passionate about people and committed to creating purposeful community gatherings. My mission is to create infrastructure in our community to support connection and create spaces and gatherings to bring us back together. Revive Gatherings, LLC, is all about community.

Active/Athletic Singles 40s/50s/60s - Portland-Brunswick
Active/Athletic Singles 40s/50s/60s I am organizing a new group for ATHLETIC, SINGLE, FUN, OUTDOORSY, individuals that like to enjoy the outdoors in what some people say is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Let’s be thankful and explore together! The goal is to provide adventures that allow people to get to know each other and help people discover new places and ideas. Individuals will connect through fun, shared experiences either in person or on-line (depending on COVID restrictions). Activities can include (but aren't limited to): hiking, camping, skiing, snowshoeing, travel, happy hours, dinner parties, BBQ's, breweries, comedy clubs, etc. Online activities may include slide shows of personal adventures to inspire people to get out and enjoy. Our hikes and adventures can fit within a variety of distances, skill levels, elevation gains etc. I am recovering from an injured hip so outings that I lead will be limited in intensity for now. However, other members will be encouraged to become trip leaders to organize trips and activities that they think will be fun for you and others. Crossroads Anime Club

Gray, ME

Despite Maine being an anagram of anime, it can be hard to find people in such a rural state who share an interest in anime, manga, and other Japanese media and culture.

Crossroads Anime Club is a weekly club where members can discuss --but more importantly watch and enjoy, anime with other enthusiasts. All levels of knowledge and fandom are more than welcome; we all start somewhere!

This club will watch either a feature-length movie, or several episodes per meetup, with choices nominated and decided on by members. For series, we'll keep you posted on what we're in the middle of, so you can catch up on your own if you miss a week or are joining late!

There will also be time before, after, and in-between watching, for discussion of anything and everything anime-related, or whatever topic happens to come up. Video games, manga, and light novels are all things that many of us enjoy, as well as similar western media.

Many members also attend conventions for anime, video games, etc. Cons are always better with friends, so don't hesitate to mention any you'll be attending --you may find out you're not the only one! PortCon, Anime Boston, NYCC, and many other conventions are right here in the northeast! Cosplay discussion, brainstorming, and showing is also more than welcome.

We meet Wednesdays, at 6:30 PM, with the first episode or movie starting at 7.
We are located at Fiddlehead Art and Science Center, 25 Shaker Rd. Gray, ME.

UNFORTUNATELY, WE DO HAVE TO ASK THAT ALL MEMBERS BE 18 OR OLDER, due to the potential for mature themes in some selections.

Note: If members have not attended at least one after one year from September 1, 2020, they will be removed due to lack of activity. We encourage members to get out ,meet people and try something new . We all meet new friends at each event, so don't stay home because you are shy . We also reserve the right to remove members for NO SHOWS, or ANY unstable behavior . \ PLEASE HELP!! We need your suggestions for events, and volunteers to be there. We coordinate the WEBSITE and as many events as we can, but need people to be there to welcome other women. If you have a great idea, please give us a date, time, location and place to meet. For example, if you want to go hiking, tell us where (including a place to meet), pick a time, and give us a date, and we post it. People sign up on the Home page, so you will know who is coming. Trust us, it isn't hard to pick out those who are looking for you! If you want company for that concert, show, movie, hike, or kayak trip, try PLCH! NOTE: We have a message board for member-to-member communication. Thank you for your help and cooperation. \ \ We thank you for being members of this group, and hope to meet you all at an event!
