Friends Outdoors is just that, friends who get together on a regular basis to have a great time together outdoors. Friends Outdoors are people who know each other or are connected with someone in the group who like to do outdoor activities, such as hiking, kayaking, Standup Paddleboarding, bonfires, and possibly camping and other adventures, group choice. Group members know each other, or are referred by someone already a member, which is a safer way to participate in a hiking group, rather than hiking with strangers. Members should be physically fit enough to hike 3-6 miles at about 3.3-3.6 mph. We will start out slow and work up to longer faster hikes based on the member's ability and wants. SPIRITUALITY - Our "Second Sundays" meetings involve deep topics, meditation, support, and absolutely NO judgment. You are encouraged to come in with an open mind and learn from each other, but we all respect one another's individual beliefs and do not attempt to convert each other. GAMES - Believe it or not, fun is therapeutic, and so is getting to know the individuals who are supporting you through life and helping you to grow as a person. I won't lie: we get a little crazy on game nights sometimes with games like "Cards Against Humanity," but even on the craziest nights you'll always hear people checking up on each other and seeing how life is going...because that's what it means to be a part of a genuine community.

All skill levels and ages are welcome. We hold a variety of classes for our members. The topics of these classes are chosen based on member interest and range from edible and medicinal plant walks to mushroom growing to cooking classes to tanning and primitive tool making. Fees for these classes will vary.

Due to the nature of our activities, some of our events are held in areas that are not accessible to those with limited mobility. This will be noted in the event description. We never want to exclude anyone from classes due to cost, so if you cannot afford the fee please contact the instructor to discuss barter or work study.

Every Fifth Sunday is a "Family Sunday" in which the whole family can worship together and children participate in special ways to learn about worship.

During the Summer, several worship services are held outside in our pavilion, with special outdoor and/or fun activities to follow.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE:

You can expect to be greeted with a warm smile, open heart, and the buzz of friendly chatter. You are welcome to grab a cup of coffee and a treat as you enter worship. After service, please join us for an extended time of hospitality with coffee, pastries, and other goodies. We would love to get to know you. Also, we invite you to turn in a Connection Card and pick up a free gift on your way out.

Children are invited to begin worship with their families. After the Gloria Patri, they are welcomed up for "A Time for Young Followers of Jesus" after which they will be dismissed to Sunday School. After the Hymn/Song after the Sermon, the children will be brought back into worship service. As a first-time guest, you are asked to come with them to fill out all the appropriate forms and meet the teachers.

The children will begin together with singing, then break up into two groups. Pre-K and Kindergarten kids meet in the Nursery, and Grade 1-5 meet their Kids Club Room.

Middle School and High School youth remain in worship service with the exception of "youth volunteer assistants".

Our nursery is staffed by volunteers or you may watch your own children if you choose. There is also a cry room at the rear of the sanctuary, where you can still participate and hear the worship service.
