Making New Friends in Raleigh

Making New Friends in Raleigh
This meetup is for anyone who is new to the area or just looking to expand that circle of friends. We are working to become a group that you can rely on to meet new people, try new things and experience Raleigh all while laughing and connecting with like-minded people. I’m also looking for people who’s really into fitness. Our intent is to make this a fun place with diverse meetups so everyone can find something that interests them. Feel free to message one of your organizers if there's a particular event or adventure you'd like to see or if you'd like to become an event host! Always be mindful of the commitments you make with your RSVPs so that we are able to accommodate accordingly, but most of, let's have FUN!
Feel free to get connected with my running groups and Raleigh Self Defense Dojo to stay fit

MEETUP IS FAMILY This group is judgement and cliquey free and for members that are serious about attending events to meet the members of the group. We must have complete trust in one another and be willing to accept everyone. The goal is to be able to be friends outside of meetup as well. MEETUP IS NOT FACEBOOK Let's remember to be respectful to one another especially when we RSVP for a event. I doubt that anyone likes to wait for members who are not going to show up so please be mindful and change your RSVP or contact the host if there's a number you can reach them. I'm allowing everyone to host events based on their interest so everyone will get to be a organizer. Three no shows will get a member removed unless the host finds the excuse acceptable. Stuff like car breaking down emergencies where you can't contact the host etc will be acceptable. Please make sure let the host know early in advance if you change your RSVP. Trying to wait 30 minutes or less before the event starts or after the event starts will be considered a no show unless an emergency comes up. The host events would more likely be at the destination waiting for you by then. If you can't find the group contact the host regardless on how big or small the event is. Sometimes the host just wants you to stop by to say hi. We wouldn't stand up a real life friend date boss or doctor so let's treat the meetup host the same way. And make sure to pay attention to the details of the event so you can know what's going on and how to find everyone. After 6 months of not attending any events since you signed up you will be removed and be allowed to return when you can commit to attending the events. There's no point of being part of a Meetup group if you're not going to attend any events. The idea is to meet people that's why it's called Meetup and I'm allowing everyone to host events based on their interest. Whether or not you’re actually interested in the upcoming event or not it’s a good idea to try to attend anyways if possible just so you can get to meet the hosts and the other members attending the events. That also includes merging with another Meetup event. Any report of members being mean or not being accepting will lead to a permanent dismissal of the group. Feel free to report to me immediately if a host or a member been disrespectful or don't make you feel accepted and I will see to it that something gets done about it. Make sure to save my number. People are welcome to contact me anytime to say hello or to ask me questions about events or concerns and can find me on facebook under Anthony Earl Williams

Everyone must have a real photo for their profile. That's your identification to make sure that you are really you.

Triangle LGBTQ Friends

Knightdale, NC

Triangle LGBTQ Friends
We are a community of LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) singles and couples (and other relationship types) who live primarily in the Triangle area of North Carolina and who come together to socialize, participate in activities, and form friendships. Please join our other Meetup [page](https://www.meetup.com/triangle-lgbtq-active-adventures/). **Group rules:** 1. **Respect**: All members are expected to act appropriately with other members. Any harassment, privacy violation, public humiliation, or any unwanted sexual innuendo towards other members will not be tolerated. Members will address other members by their self-identified name and pronouns to the best of their ability. Do not inappropriately touch other members. Seek consent preferably whenever possible before making physical contact. I do not condone any activity that makes members of this group feel in any way uncomfortable, violated, harassed, shame, or in any other way unsafe at our meetups. Please help foster respect by avoiding malicious gossip or bad-talking of other members. I prefer to keep meetups a friendly, safe, diverse, drama-free environment. Violations will result in expulsion. Also, this is not a dating service. Do not join this group for the sake of finding the new love of your life or a new addition to your bedroom, etc. Any unwelcomed solicitations are a violation of this policy. 2. **Discrimination**: We are a diverse, inclusive group, and we do not discriminate on: Race, Ethnicity, National Origin, Sex, Gender Identity, Religion, Sexual Orientatio, Relationship orientation, Age, Disability, Family Status, Economic Class, Relationship status, Sexual History, etc. 3. **Privacy**: Respect everyone's privacy! Our site settings are such that our events & membership lists cannot be seen by anyone who is not a member. Occasionally, some events may become cross-posted with other Meetup groups like us. We do ask however that members do not put our events on a public forum to ensure privacy. Do Not post a copy and/or publish our meetup event details to non-members with exception to inviting your own personal friends that will attend as your personal guest. **Note:** Everyone should update their meetup.com site privacy settings to a level they are comfortable. 4. **Age**: Meetup.com requires an age of 18 or more to create an account. I agree with this policy. (Some meetups at bars may require 21 and up.) However, we do have meetup events that are "family-friendly" and open to kids accompanying their parents who are members. Otherwise, I will implicitly post what events are “family events”. That goes for pets as well. (For these all events, please contact the designated Event Host directly for more information before making assumptions.) 5. **Attendance**: We require all members to use Meetup.com's RSVP system. This allows organizers to plan their events, which often involve managing space and providing refreshments. In the event that you have RSVPed to an event, but can no longer attend, we ask that you update your RSVP status as soon as possible (even last minute if necessary) AND post a comment on the event to alert the host. "No-Shows" are discouraging for organizers. "No- shows" may cause organizers to waste time and money. Those on the “wait list” will also be affected by non-attendance. We require that you keep your RSVP status up to date. **Failure to do so may lead to:** **First time: Warning.** **Second time: temporary suspension.** **Third time: Removal from the group for no less than 12 months. However, that will be at my discretion. Habitual offenders will not be tolerated and notice may not be given.** **Note: In order to ensure that this policy is enforced fairly, organizers are asked to mark no-shows for their events. If you are uncertain how to mark no-shows, please contact me.** 6. **RSVP**: Read each event description fully before RSVP. Contact the designated "Event Host" if you have questions about that event. If it's your first time, you may need to inquire on how to find everyone. If you are on the waiting list or not able to RSVP, do not “crash” the event anyway. Hosts will aim to honor the RSVP process. Headcounts are part of the planning process. 7. **Quiescence**: All members are anticipated to stay active and to attend events. The point of Meetup is to get out there and meet people. At the very least, I request a "Goal" for all members to attend a meetup event a minimum of twice a year, but it's not required. **What is required is that you check to see what events are active within a year**. Anything less exhibits dormancy (I can see if you checked our group page). There are a great variety of events between both our Meetup groups, so please check every so often so you aren’t marked as inactive. "Idle" memberships may be removed automatically on a regular basis, however, those removed may rejoin if they truly want to. 8. **Spam**: Spam is never tolerated and we immediately ban any member violating this rule.

Friends of the Mountains - to - Sea Trail

Raleigh, NC

Friends of the Mountains - to - Sea Trail
The primary purpose of this group is to support a community of volunteers focused on building, enhancing and maintaining North Carolina's premier hiking trail, the Mountains-to-Sea Trail! The Mountains-to-Sea Trail, stretches 1,175 miles from Clingmans Dome State Park in the Great Smoky Mountains to Jockey's Ridge State Park on the Outer Banks.  The trail showcases our state's diverse landscape and culture:  mountain vistas, rolling Piedmont farms, picture-postcard colonial towns, weathered tobacco barns, old textile villages, country churches, rushing mountain streams, coastal swamps, hardwood and pine forests, lighthouses, sand dunes and miles of seashore. In addition to joining us on Meetup, where we post numerous MST workdays, we also hope you'll visit the FMST website ([ https://www.mountainstoseatrail.org](http://www.ncmst.org)) to learn more about this wonderful backyard resource and ask that you consider becoming a Friend of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail at: https://mountainstoseatrail.org//get-involved/become-a-member/ If you'd like to help build and maintain the trail and don't see a workday in your area posted on this Meetup group site, FMST has a workday going on somewhere in the state almost every weekend of the year and on some weekdays too.  For more information contact the trail crew leader in your vicinity. You can find a list of crew leaders at:   [https://mountainstoseatrail.org/get-involved/trail-workdays/](https://mountainstoseatrail.org/get-involved/trail-workdays/) Come help enhance and give back to hiking in North Carolina by helping build, enhance and maintain the Mountains-to-Sea Trail!
