Nebraska Adventure Group

Elkhorn, NE

Nebraska Adventure Group
Based in the Omaha Metro tri-city area, Nebraska Adventure Group (NAG) is a social group of outdoor enthusiasts who live and breathe outdoor adventure! With the right knowledge and resources, there are plenty of fun and exciting escapes to be found right here in the Midwest. Our goal is to provide fun and safe opportunities for friends of all abilities, experience, and fitness levels to engage with nature and explore the outdoors. **ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS** Adventure day hiking, camping, multi-day backpacking, cycling and mountain biking, canoeing and kayaking, rock climbing, snow sports, water sports, guest speakers and educational workshops ... our group members are interested in every activity imaginable related to fitness, nature, and outdoor adventure! Not only do we organize our own outings, but we also partner with other Meetup groups and participate in public events hosted by community organizations and outside sponsors. **EXPENSES AND FEES** Event Hosts are volunteer group members and do not charge income-generating fees as reimbursement for their time. Most of our outings are held at local parks, trails, or other public venues. While most venues are free to the public, NAG members are responsible for purchasing their own facility passes and park permits as needed. As a group activity, NAG members may attend public events organized by outside third-parties. On occasion, the third-party host may charge an activity fee. In addition, members who choose to participate in big-ticket outings such as long-distance backpacking trips and rock climbing may incur significant personal expenses for equipment, travel, and the hiring of a professional guide or outfitter. If an expense or fee is required to participate in an outing, it will be clearly itemized in the meetup description. Expenses are to be paid upfront when a member RSVPs to attend the outing. **LEAVE NO TRACE PRINCIPLES** All outings will be organized in accordance with the seven [Leave No Trace Principles](https://lnt.org/learn/seven-principles-overview). It is ***our*** responsibility to leave an area in better shape than when we arrived to present those who follow the opportunity to experience nature at its most pristine. Event Hosts and participants are expected to familiarize themselves with and adhere to the Leave No Trace Principles. **PLAN AHEAD AND PREPARE** We encourage members of all fitness and skill levels to join our group. We all appreciate the core motivation to challenge ourselves, learn new skills, and expand our horizons. However, when RSVPing to an outing, please make a reasonable assessment of your abilities and equipment to ensure you can safely participate in the activity. Allow plenty of time before the outing to double-check your equipment and ensure it is in safe working order. Feel free to post in the comments section on the Meetup page if you have any questions or concerns about the outing. There are plenty of gear checklists and resources available online. Ideally, each participant will be appropriately equipped and self-sufficient; however, if you're just getting started, equipment may be rented from the [UNO Outdoor Venture Center](https://www.unomaha.edu/student-life/wellness/campus-recreation/ovc/rentals.php) or another group member may have some extra gear to loan out. **MINOR CHILDREN** NAG is an adult-oriented group. While most of our outings are targeted toward adults, we also organize special outings, picnics, and social gatherings which friends and family members of all ages may attend. Prior to bringing minor children, please be considerate of your fellow adventurers and contact the Event Host for participation guidelines which may be imposed by the NAG group, guide, outfitter, or venue. **PETS** Please ensure due diligence if bringing pets. Some locations require pets to be on a leash; some require pets to be within voice control; others do not allow pets at all. Regardless of any specific allowances or restrictions, please be considerate of your fellow adventurers and contact the Event Host for permission prior to bringing your pet. Event Hosts should be aware of possible health and safety issues which may be aggravated by the presence of pets. Service animals are always welcome. **HOW TO JOIN NEBRASKA ADVENTURE GROUP!** Joining our group is very simple! Previous outdoor experience is not required. Anyone with an adventurous spirit, a desire to meet new people, and a willingness to explore new challenges are invited to become a member. You will be presented with a few questions when joining the group. These questions provide an opportunity for new friends to learn more about you and help Event Hosts to organize fun outings which match your personal goals, interests, and skill level. We do require members of our group to use their true identity and display a clear, close-up headshot as the primary photo on the Nebraska Adventure Group website. The intent behind this requirement is for convenience and safety to allow members and Event Hosts to know who they will be meeting and to easily recognize each other at outings; some of which may be held in crowded venues. Please read the help page for more information about [How to Change and Display Your Profile Photo](https://www.meetup.com/NE-Adventurers/pages/23951824/How_to_Change_and_Display_Your_Profile_Photo/). **ABOUT THE LEADERSHIP TEAM** Nebraska Adventure Group may occasionally contract with outside instructors, guides, or outfitters; however, NAG Organizers and Event Hosts are not industry professionals. We are simply volunteer members with varying degrees of experience who enjoy investing our time helping others to appreciate and experience the outdoors. **DISCLAIMER** *By choosing to join Nebraska Adventure Group (NAG), I understand and agree to abide by the Membership Guidelines and to display a clear, close-up headshot as the primary profile photo on Nebraska Adventure Group pages.* *I understand and agree that Nebraska Adventure Group Organizers and Event Hosts are not industry professionals, that participation in NAG activities and events is at my own risk, and that NAG is not liable for property damage, injury, or loss.* *I understand and agree that Nebraska Adventure Group members may attend public events organized by outside third-parties and that NAG is not liable for my safety while attending those events.*

Oneness Omaha

Omaha, NE

Oneness Omaha

We are a diverse group of people from many different walks of lives and belief systems but we share the common desire to live a Beautiful life and to help raise the consciousness of humanity.

The raising of consciousness is a world-wide movement and is intended to shift mankind into a state of Oneness, that is, a connectedness to all of mankind and all living things.

The Oneness Meditations and Blessings connect you with the Divine Energy of the Universe thus beginning the healing of the body and the discharge of repetitive emotional patterns which have held you in suffering.  In relationships it enables a greater sensitivity and connectedness with the other, freeing you from the limitations of your judgments and conditioning.

The Oneness Meditation and Blessing, over time, has the capacity to expand your horizon of thinking and helps you understand the universe around you and the principles governing you.

When you Awaken into Oneness, there is an end to the sense of separation that is the root cause of all suffering. You realize there is only one Body, one Mind, one Consciousness. This new experience of reality allows us to discover a new way of living, loving and creating a better planet for the present and the future. This is our shared destiny.

We are affiliated with O & O Academy, a philosophy and meditation center for learning, growth and transformation in Southern India.

This group is still brand new, so where meetups will be held and what form they will take is still TBD. However, I will try to reserve a room at Dospace. They moved to a new location recently, but should still have similar facilities, like conference rooms with computers and projectors. As well as access to 3D printers and cool software for people to try out. From there, we can decide as a group where and how to hold meetups. And of course, please share any ideas and suggestions in the comments! I created a very basic website for the group. There isn't much there yet, but you can find directions and information about upcoming meetings. I'll update the site with pictures and files of anything we make that you can download any time. Omaha Hackers

Omaha, NE

Omaha Hackers

DC402 Tends to meet at DJ's Dugout in Miracle Hills monthly (typically the 2nd Tuesday). Check the www.dc402.org or follow us at @defcon402 for the latest information.

Our meetings often have a meeting-specific broad topic, where somebody organizes discussion or presents. Often this topic is security-related, but also may drift into other interesting areas of tech. Our meetings are informal, social and often tend to gravitate toward the technical side of things. That said, we are not afraid of topics like tech policy and we strive to be inclusive rather than exclusive. Many of our members have interesting histories in U.S. government, capture the flag competitions, digital forensics, law enforcement, and various involvement with a small gathering of people in Las Vegas every year known as DEF CON.

For people interested in computer/hardware hacking, security, & electronics/IoT development. We practice the art of hacking to mod, improve, and make new better things!

Relatively unordered enumeration of relevant keywords: topics in computer security, reverse engineering, embedded linux & electronics, Raspberry Pi's, Arduinos, RTL-SDR, sensors, wireless, IoT tech, Network Security, SNORT, Wifi, TCP/IP & Firewall basics, Kali Linux, Exploit basics, Cryptography, Physical security (Alarm systems & Lock mechanisms), Embedded Linux, OpenWrt, Busybox, Firmware Analysis, Binwalk, Bus Pirate, Flashing ROMs, EEPROMS, Arduinos, Microcontroller programming, Raspberry Pi's, Beaglebone, UART & Serial communication, JTAG programming, RTL-SDR, ESP8266 wifi, CC1101 wireless, RFID, Sensors, Soldering techniques, 3D printing, etc.

As the group continues to grow, more topics and speakers will become available. Let's make Nebraska cybersecure and technologically innovative!
