New England Over 50 Hiking Group

This group was founded for those of us aged 50-70+ who want easier hikes at a slower pace. We will try to hike at the fastest safe speed of the slowest hiker. Most hikes are in the White Mountain National Forest, and neighboring mountain ranges within 45 minutes of Interstate 93.

In addition to hiking, we have occasional events that are not strictly hiking. But they are consistent with getting together, usually outdoors for something fun that may involve varying amounts of physical effort. These have included biking, touring nature reserves or parks (no or minor hills), boat trips, and even seasonal parties.

We are not a "dating" site. Please do not contact other members who you have not met asking for personal information. Unwelcome advances will not be tolerated, NO means NO.

Our goal is to hike (etc.) all 4 seasons of the year, weather permitting, in the safety and camaraderie of the group. Hiking is a way to enjoy the process of staying fit, while enjoying the beauty of nature. This is a dog free hiking group.

Grant's Genealogy: LGBT Genealogists & Hobbyists New England

My Name is Grant, and I have been an Active Genealogy Researcher & Part-time Genealogist since 2010. And I am also GAY. I was recently removed from a New New England Genealogy Group because they said my Bio wasn't a "good fit" for them. I suspect that they didn't like it that I Own, or am a Member of, a number of LGBT+ Groups. Also, some of my LGBT friends think I talk about Genealogy "too much"! Has that happened to you? Therefore, I have decided to create my own Genealogy Interests Group for the LGBT+ Community in New England. Here we can "Talk Genealogy" in a Positive & Safe Atmosphere. New England is Rich in History, and that includes Genealogy, i.e. Family History. Therefore, New England has a number of Genealogy Organizations, and almost every town has a "Historical Society". Despite all that, **I am aware of only ONE New England MEETUP Group dedicated to Genealogy, *and it is for Women Only!*** I do not know how it feels about Lesbians, "Trans" women, or Queer Women, nor Born-female Non-Binary. Therefore, ***this MEETUP Group is UNIQUE in New England! This an All-Genders (including Non-Binary) LGBTQ+ Genealogy Group!*** As for myself, I am Gay, a father & grandfather, have have been a heavy Genealogy Researcher since March 2010. Initially, I knew I was descended from 2 families who were in Massachusetts before 1700. Today it is over 100 families in New England, NY and NJ before 1700. I have a personal database of over 62K. Member of FindAGrave since 2010. Worked for awhile as a Professional Genealogist. I have found over 80 LIVING LGBT Cousins, and somewhere near 40 LGBT Deceased. Descended from 3 Bi Distant Great-grandfathers. They were part of a Love Quadrangle! My own Style I call "Naked Genealogy". If you hire me to do research for you, I will tell you "The Naked Truth". If your Ancestor or Relative was Infamous in some way, such as being a Murderer, Serial Killer, Criminal, Insane, Slave Owner, ... - I would Tell You. Why, I have all of those in My Own Family Tree!! I am, as you can see from my Groups, a Nudist. I generally am Nude at my computer at home, when doing my Research. That's part of the "Naked Truth" about Me! **WHAT IS THIS GROUP ABOUT?** 1.
