This meetup is basically for friendly people to get together and hang out.

I was asked to point out that it is NOT singles only. Couples whether married or not can join and partake in all activities.

I will try to keep it to locations near the NY/NJ border, locations that conversations can actually take place (NOT loud places with dim lighting).

Mostly, it will be game nights, and walks in parks. Since there are many hiking groups out there, I will say that we will NOT hike, we will walk or stroll through a park, enjoying the surroundings, nature, and by talking while walking, enjoy each others company.

I will also try to set up "group conversation" nights where we can talk about subject but not limit ourselves to that subject alone. I found that hot topics were....internet dating....and male/female interactions ("why do they do this..." kind of questions ).

I intend on having most meetups on Friday nights and during the day of a Saturday. Since most likely I will be available those times. Other members are more then welcomed to host other meetups at other times, but I can not guarantee that I could attend.

This meetup is "going to the dogs"...Pugs to be precise!!!

Okay, so you're owned by a Pug; that goes without saying! I am too, as are many others. Why do we love these big-eyed, wrinkle-faced Pugsters so much? There are so many reasons, & that's reason enough to join the NNJPE!

Our steadily-growing group of friendly Pugaholics & their Pugs meet for outings once a month (with "special events" tossed in for good measure), in order to provide our furbabies (& ourselves) some time for socialization & out-in-out fun!

Playtime's great, but giving back to the community is also important, & we make a conscious effort to host & participate in charitable events; all net proceeds go to the featured organization. We are also active with Pug Rescue & in helping to find needy Pugs their "forever homes".

I encourage members to get involved; suggestions for outings are always welcome. Additionally, our message board is always available for any questions, comments, or concerns you might have in regard to the care & maintenence of your beloved four-legged family member!

Dedicated to the exploration of Science, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Gaming, Movies (discussions & viewing), Comic Books, Anime, Manga, Suspense/Mystery/Thrillers, Creative Writing, guest speakers, special activity outings and all things genre. The Science Fiction Society of Northern NJ (SFSNNJ) sponsors discussion groups, book groups, a movie viewing group & movie discussion group, a comic book/anime/manga group, hosts guest speakers & special activity events (i.e. Meet & Greet Dinners) and gaming events.  Join our online forum on Yahoo or join us at one of the many local area bookstores, libraries, museums/historical sites, and other private locations for many great events.

Each month we explore a different theme, and each of our moderators work hard to select the best works that will entertain and challenge attendees.  The different meetings offered are:

* That's Science Fiction! presents movie classics, new releases, animated films, B&W films and some surprises.
* Face the Fiction spotlights various guests from Charlaine Harris to local authors, as well as special events/outings (Meet & Greet at restaurants, Gaming Day)
* Suspense Central discusses mysteries, suspense, thrillers from classic to current.
* Drawing A Crowd explores the comic book universe Golden Age to today.
* Modern Masters discusses the works of today's literary masters, as well as some classics authors.
* Films to Come tackles the world of cinema and all things entertainment - movies, TV and media tie-ins.
* Heroes and Rogues is our monthly gaming event.

I will be hosting dinner parties to meet others people in our area that enjoy good food, drink, and company. Some will be BYOB events others will be at restaurants that serve alcohol... but in all cases you will earn somewhere between a 30%-110% credit in free food to return to the restaurant in the next month...

I look forward to making new friends in the area over great food and wine (if you don't drink its totally fine, wine is optional).
