New Paltz Permaculture Meetup
with Andrew Faust
https://www.permaculturenewyork.com/
This is a meetup that we created to inspire and inform anyone interested in Permaculture in the region and for furthering your education in the field.
Permaculture is a whole systems design science that is positively changing the way people think and interact with Earth. Turn problems into solutions by joining us in the discussion, design and implementation of projects in and around Brooklyn and the surrounding region. We are looking to create an active group of motivated beings that want to contribute to all the positive change that is happening in our region and the world.
This Meetup will be lead by Andrew Faust and occasional visiting friends.
Andrew is director at Center for Bioregional Living which since 2007 has been training permaculture designers in NYC and starting June 1st 2012 at their rural campus in Ellenville, NY. A certificate in Permaculture Design is very helpful but not necessary...https://www.permaculturenewyork.com/ellenville-permaculture-campus
We will explore a wide range of topics, renewable energy systems for the northeast, environmental racism, ecological farm design, natural building, green infrastructure, social justice issues, sustainable economies and more!...all connected through the lens of permaculture design. Excited to draw together a community in this area around these social values, ideas and perspectives.

Event Description:
A Gong Bath is a meditative and transformational experience, where the participant allows the sound and vibration of the gongs to wash over them, creating deep feelings of peace, relaxation and timelessness. The energy of the gong takes hold of the listener and moves them in wonderfully unexpected ways. Some participants have described it as an emotional cleansing, a spiritual alignment, or an energetic journey.
Multiple tuned gongs create complex harmonics, deep pulsing tones and beautifully rhythmic waves of sound. These tones remind the listener of deep space, distant voices, a caring heartbeat, or the songs of nature. Many listeners are surprised and moved by the types of sounds that are created.
In addition to the gongs, listeners may hear flute, didgeridoo, crystal bowls, chimes or harp. These will be used to relax the energy in-between gong sessions, and to ground the listener after the last gong has sounded. These interludes give the listener a chance to integrate the changes that have occurred.
Before the gong bath, the listeners will be guided through breathing exercises, physical movement and chanting. These prepare the listener for the experience by relaxing their body and stilling their mind, refining their ability to listen.
