Wilmslow Meets Manchester Socials

Wilmslow, C5

Wilmslow Meets Manchester Socials

It's said that a stranger is a friend that you haven't met yet  However, breaking the ice with strangers can be hard when your in a room full of them. What are you supposed to say, how will you remember all of their names & how will you know who the meeting organiser is?

The chances are that you've looked at and maybe joined a number of Meetup groups in your local area. Why join this one? Well, without getting all salesy about things, the success of this group over the last four years has been down to two things. Firstly, the open hearted nature of the members means that anyone who joins is immediately made to feel welcomed and appreciated.  We all know how hard it can be to step out of your comfort zone and show up at an event where you no absolutely no one in the room.   Secondly, the group has grown to the size it now is because we endeavour to keep things fresh by adding new types of events and locations so that it appeals to members with different tastes.

At this point you may well be wondering what type of people join this group and attend the events on offer?  The answer is people of all ages and from all backgrounds and cultures.  While the group started out as a singles group, the reality is that over the years it has attracted couples who are looking to expand their friendship network.  No restrictions are placed on age either.  However, members typically tend to be in their late thirties upwards.

So where do our Meetups take place?  The group was founded in Wilmslow with most events taking place within a 10 mile radius of the town.  However, members live across a much wider geography from the North of Manchester to the south of Cheshire.  Therefore, the intention is to offer Meetups in a wide range of locations. The primary locations will be Wilmslow, Cheadle Hulme and Didsbury.  However, look out out for events talking place in other locations in Greater Manchester and East Cheshire

In terms of the type of events that are organised. they range from larger "no attendee limits" evening Meetups at pubs with live music through to smaller weekend evening dinners and Sunday lunches.  For the more actively minded, country walks and ten pin bowling are also offered.

It's free to join this group.  However, depending on the venue, there may be a charge for attending.

If your new to the area or maybe just at a loose end & want to get out of the house & make some new friends this winter then why not join our group? Go on!

Manchester Neuro-Diversity Meet Up Group

Manchester Neuro-Diversity Meet Up Group
Hi there, The purpose of this group is to create a welcoming, non- judgemental environment, in which people can meet others and enjoy themselves. Everybody is welcome; regardless of age, gender and whether or not they have a disability. The only requirement is that they have a respectful attitude towards other members of the group. I’ve been quite busy as of late, and I intend to add another event at some point. It is just a meetup group, so I’m aware it might not solve everyone’s problems in life. However, if anyone is nervous and wants introducing to any regular attendees, I’m happy to do it should they send me a private message. I’d also accept requests from people who may want to put up their own event or have a particular idea in mind. As long as the group encourages others to make connections, I feel that the group is giving something to society. I’m going to find drinking venues that are entirely disabled friendly next year as I have a disabled brother and feel it unfair that someone may wish to attend but cannot through no fault of their own. I’d appreciate any suggestions from people as well as I’m not the most clued up person on the issue admittedly. Just feel it necessary to add on here that my name was changed to lol recently and not by me. My password was weak however I didn’t expect someone to do that. There’s some proper weirdos about clearly and it’s a cowardly thing to do!!! Anyway, I’m 99.9 % certain they’ve just had a few guesses and got in, so I’ve informed people who sent me there number about it already. However to be on the safe side I’ve changed all my passwords so that it doesn’t happen again. Below is a link about cyber crime that may come in handy as the world is a more dangerous place than it was 25 years ago. https://www.cps.gov.uk/crime-info/cyber-online-crime. (Unfortunately I’ve had to add this to the group description)

Showing up is a commitment we want everyone to make, as this helps the organisers maximise the spaces booked, helps the attendees meet more new people, and most importantly it help you fulfil the commitment you made to yourself to meet nice new friends. WE STRICTLY DO NOT DO ANY NETWORING OR ANY BUSINESS-RELATED EVENTS OF ANY KIND, NO EXCEPTIONS. This group is for meaningful friendships and quality time amongst women in Manchester. NO-SHOW POLICY – We would like to maximise every event for your full enjoyment, therefore we encourage you to turn up to the events you RSVP to. All attendance is monitored. TWO missed events will be marked as 'no-shows', and a polite reminder will be sent to you. If you do not show up THREE times when you have RSVP'd as "Yes" without sending a message and changing your RSVP, you will be automatically removed from the group. Its important you RSVP to things you can attend to, and change you RSVP in good time if other plans come up. Please do this so we can offer your spot to someone else if you decide not to attend. This rule applies to last minute drop outs (UNDER 48hrs) without a message too. This is to make sure that we maximise all the space we book for events and include more people who want to participate and enjoy meeting each other. PAYMENT - Please note, running this group is not free and lead organisers pay Meet-up a monthly fee to keep the group running. Therefore RSVPs will be charged a non-refundable £3 for all events. Some events might also require an additional fee if the restaurant or event venue requires a prepayment. This £3 is non-refundable under all circumstances unless only if the organisers cancel the event. If you cancel your RSVP the non-refund still applies. If you would like to support the continued running of this group you can also donate any amount to our PayPal pool which I can send to you if you request the link :) WAITLIST - Please be aware that we currently don't have waitlist and all events are first come first serve. Updates will be sent out once we can have a functioning waitlist. SAFETY AND COURTESY: We want everyone to have a fun and safe time when attending our events, and we want our organisers to communicate with attendees about event updates with confidence that they will be treated with respect - therefore we follow Meet-up's policy on safety strictly. We do not tolerate any abusive language towards anyone in this group. Please DM people with respect. Any members found to be harassing/insulting/threatening/bullying any member of this group will be removed immediately and the ban will be permanent. We take pictures at events. If you do not want your picture uploaded please let the organiser know and they will delete all pictures featuring you.

Muslim Females Meet N Greet

Manchester, 18

Muslim Females Meet N Greet
Hi/Asalaamu Alaykum lovelies 👸, I hope this you are well. My name is Alisha and this is a safe and welcoming place for Muslim girls of all ethnicities and backgrounds to could come together and share experiences, build healthy friendships and feel like they belong. I made a few changes to the group, namely changing the name to Muslim Females meet N Greet 🤗🥳! I officially gone all social media-fide and opened up a Muslim Females Meet N Greet account where you can get up-to-date on upcoming events, get notified, recommend ideas and see what we got up to in past events. As the new year approaches I'm hoping to build this platform with beautiful memories and be able to connect with you all in one place. Below is the link, go check it out and give it a follow ❤️ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/muslimfemalemeetngreet?igshid=NGVhN2U2NjQ0Yg== If the link doesn't work, search for Muslim Females Meet N Greet and you should be able to see it 😄 Rules for this community It is important that you confirm that you are attending these events by RVSPing on the meetup app. I also require a message via meetup app or Instagram ahead of the arranged meetup to ensure that you will be attending. If in the event you are not able to come please notify me 24 hours before and update your RVSP. If no update has been given then I will be expecting you at the event. If you don't turn up and RVSP shows you are attending and no update has been given from you via messaging (I will also be messaging individually to check your whereabouts) and this happens over 3 separate occasions I will have to remove you from the group. Please ensure you are kind, considerate and polite when you are meeting with us and communicating with others. I'm building a safe environment for Muslim girls to meet and have a wonderful time. If kindness is not shown warnings will be given privately and subsequently if the behaviour continues it will lead to being removed from the group. If an event is requires payment please ensure you make a payment the same time you RSVP. This is also the same for booking onto a planned event, for example, booking tickets to a theatre. Please do this as soon as you decide to attend as bookings are taken up quickly and you are not guaranteed a place if you haven't booked. A message from me It’s difficult to find a group of people with similar values and mindsets especially as a Muslim woman today. It can be a real struggle if you are new to a place or feel out of place in the communities you are already a part of, so it is a great opportunity to build wholesome relationships or just to belong in a supportive social circle. Also, be organising trips abroad across Europe 🇪🇺 for short weekend breaks and short stays around UK 🇬🇧. Alongside, spa trips, restaurants meals, theartes, cinemas and brunches etc. Even if you are not a Muslim but feel that this would be a great community to be a part of then please do not hesitate to join! I am happy to take any feedback and suggestion on events and work we can do e.g. charity work, reading club, sports etc. Looking forward to having you join and seeing you at our next meetup event!
