What are common mistakes? If you're learning to code, you likely have these and other questions. In this group, we tackle such questions by using research and sharing experiences. We may also learn more general computer science concepts in the future if people need help on them. But this is NOT a coding bootcamp or tutorial series about any specific language. There are plenty of amazing and free online resources for you to use! This group is more to give you study methods and an opportunity to connect with people who can help you on your journey to learn to code.

If you’re a woman in your 20’s to 40’s, looking for friendship or just wanting to meet other women in Houston, this is the group for you. We will meet at restaurants, bars, museums, and events on Saturdays, usual 2 - 4 PM. The meetings will typically be a social where you just show up to get to know others. Sometimes we may do fun activities together. This group is to give you an opportunity to do something during the weekend, and meet other people. For every meetup that you are interested in attending, you will be required to pay $5 non-refundable fee. This will be as compensation for the organizers effort in making reservations and time spent arranging everything. 2. Payment needs to be submitted via CASH APP ONLY, no Zelle! NO IN PERSON cash option. Cash App is easy to setup and secure. Cash App name will be provided to those who RSVP. 3. If you cancel after paying your $5, it will NOT be refunded!! 4. You must cancel with 1 week lead time to avoid being penalized for last minute cancellation. 5. If you cancel last minute, you have up to 5 times you are allowed to do this. If you cancelled last minute in the PAST, you are already in the grace period. Once you cancel last minute for a 6th time, you will receive a warning. If you cancel last minute a 7th time, you will be removed from the group. 6. Please call or text organizer on day of meetup as organizer is often interacting live with people who are already in person at the meetup and does not have time to check app. Your phone number will never be sold or misused for any other purpose other than communicating about the meetup. 7. All future restaurant meetups will be limited to 6 people; restaurants usually require one check for more than 6. I don’t want to have to chase people to contribute. 8. You are welcome to join the waitlist in case someone cancels. YOU MUST text organizer so you will be notified that you are admitted to the meetup from waitlist. You will not be penalized if you are admitted last minute and already made other plans. 9. No fee is required to be on waitlist. However, once you are off waitlist, you are required to pay $5 non-refundable fee. 10. Finally, please be advised that anyone you meet at the group meetup are strangers to you and me. Be aware that traffickers often use women to recruit other women. Word of advice, please keep your conversations on the surface level. Introduce yourself on first name basis only, do not share where you work, you can describe the job you do, but don’t tell your company name. Let’s be smart, safe, and have fun. By joining this group, you hereby agree that you have read and understood the group rules and agree to adhere to it. You also agree that your safety is your personal responsibility. When does meet up take place?

3rd Sunday of each month from 11 AM – 12 PM

What do I need to bring?

Your Frenchie, up to date vaccine records, a few dollars and poop baggies.

What should I not bring?

Please do not bring any tennis balls or toys to meet up. This prevents fights over balls and toys.

What happens if my dog has an accident?

You are responsible for cleaning up after your Frenchie. Please watch your dogs and clean up their poop, pee or vomit promptly. There is a mop with water provided to be used for clean up of excrement.

How much does Frenchie meet up cost?

To reserve the play area at Urban Tails costs the group $50/mo and the MeetUp.com organizer subscription is $15/mo. Because of these costs, we ask that you please donate a few dollars at each meet up that you attend.

Do I need to RSVP?

An event will be created on the Meet Up app; however, an RSVP is NOT required. We are not taking attendance at meet up. If you can make it – Great! We are happy to have you. If you cannot make it, no big deal, we’ll hopefully see you next month!

Who is in charge?

No one. Caroline, Kelly and Nina take turns coordinating our meet ups. Coordinating includes keeping up with donations, booking the room at Urban Tails and creating an event on the Meet Up app.

There is a pool next to our play area; however, reserving the pool is a separate fee so we do NOT book swimming for Frenchie Meet Up. 

Last and most importantly, please only attend if your Frenchie plays well with others. Any aggressive Frenchies will be asked to leave.
