The Seattle Thaw - Making New Friends Despite The Freeze
This group is for any Seattlelite who could use more friends and wants to meet new people in a relaxed, social environment. This group was born out of the frustration that can come with trying to break into new friend groups in Seattle. A new comer to Seattle opened this group and after meeting a few Seattle natives and lovers of all things planning a beautiful friendship was born. Thus, **The Seattle Thaw** was born! This group is for anyone who wants to meet other people from all walks of life while doing fun things around Seattle. Whether it's hitting a bar, a park, a restaurant, or other fun venue, this group is designed to do one thing only: Help everyone make more friends! The plan is to fill this group with people from all walks of life, so it can be as rich as possible. With that said, I plan on hosting fun events & if you're willing to help me bring the thaw, we can tackle this together! So if you've been looking for a place to meet new people, in a welcoming group that's run by someone who is hell-bent on growing it, look no further! **\*\*\*OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW\*\*\*** **1\. I'm not 100% sure why as of yet. If this happens to you, please note it wasn't us. Our group is open to join, so if you happen to get removed, simply rejoin and we'll welcome you back with open arms.

Support for the New Epoch

Support for the New Epoch

As a resident of Seattle and a licensed mental health counselor I have been living the new normal of the Coronavirus epidemic and it's direct effect on our city and county.

I have lead healing and support groups in the community for decades and wanted to offer a safe space for individuals to come and share their thoughts, feelings and ways of coping as we go through this experience in the weeks to come as more in-person social and supportive events are curtailed.

For more information about my work, visit www.eileendeywurst.com and/or email me through this meetup.

Thank you for joining.

Book 'Em, Danno : A Social Book Club

Seattle, WA

WHAT WE'RE ABOUT

This Book Club is for those who want to read, discuss books, hang out and make new friends in the Seattle area.

My intention for this book club is to be a group of casual book readers that want to get together to discuss books and have fun. We will read a variety of books and meet at a variety of places. If you enjoy books but also want to socialize, then this is the group for you!

BOOK CLUB RULES

The first rule about book club is you TALK about book club.

The second rule about book club is you TALK TO EVERYONE about book club.

WHAT TYPES OF BOOKS DO WE READ?

We read engaging books and read all types of genres.

Some of our past book picks included non-fiction (memoirs, true crime) and various types of fiction such as (but certainly not limited to) general fiction, historical fiction, comedy, psychological thrillers, mysteries, uplit fiction, domestic fiction, romance, social justice, and the occasional fantasy fiction work.

WHERE (HOW) DO WE MEET?

Seattle. We strive to visit cozy bars, casual restaurants, check out new happy hours, and accommodate members who live in different Seattle neighborhoods.

During Pandemic, we also meet on ZOOM.

WHY JOIN US?

If you are fun, engaging, like to socialize and make new friends! If this sounds like you, then join us to meet some new book lovers and have fun!

WHEN DO WE MEET?

At least 2-3 times per month, usually a weekday after 6 pm and occasionally on weekends.

NO SHOW POLICY

It takes a lot of work and planning to set up our events, and many times the places are holding spaces for us. For this reason, we really need people to be serious about their RSVPs.

Members that RSVP "yes", then have 2 unexcused no-shows, will be banned from the group.

If you need to cancel your RSVP after the RSVP has closed, please contact the event organizer for that specific event, and let them know. If you do not, it will count as a no-show.

If you back out 4 times, after the RSVP period has closed, you will also be removed from the group.

PHOTO POLICY

In order to be facilitate being social while being safe and to find each other at large events, you must post your picture. It must be a clear photo of your face (a headshot is best), not a picture of your pet, the back of your head, your foot, a flower, your kids, or you on a mountain 10 miles from the camera, etc.

The general rule of thumb is, if we cannot clearly see your face when viewed on a smartphone, your RSVP request will be declined. Please also let us know at least your first name.
