Meet new friends groups near Port Townsend, WA

Calling all coders, web developers, and aspiring geeks! Let's get together and discuss the latest coding trends and share ideas! We'll meet once a month at The CoLab to meetup and geek out.

Meet other local writers for casual creativity and encouragement! Let's gather together and practice the ancient art of story telling. We will work from prompts, exercises, or whatever else inspires the muse in us. For those that wish, we will share what we have created for comments and advice.

If you love the snow your athletic dog and to cross country ski then skijoring is for you.  I am a laid back recreational skijorer and just moved to the Pacific Northwest from Alaska.  Hope to see you and your dog sometime out on the trail.  My goal is to figure out where one can skijor in the North Cascades this winter and then plan meet ups.  If you have any ideas on where to go let me know.  I also will plan some trips to go watch some mushing/skijor/cross country ski races this winter because they are loads of fun.  I am also a huge fan of the USA women's cross country ski team who just had a very inspirational 2014/2015 season.

Wine has played an integral role throughout human history, bringing individuals and cultures closer together through social interactions. More than just a pleasant beverage, wine compels us to quietly reflect on the events of a long day, just as easily as it revels in our celebrations with family and friends. Perhaps wine’s greatest attribute is its ability to act as a social lubricant, to help people feel more comfortable and less awkward in new social settings.

With this goal in mind, we invite you to join in an exploration of the wonderful world of wine. Each month we will explore the history of wine, the science and art of winemaking, and the diversity of flavors and aromas to be found in over 1,200 varieties of wine grapes! And because wine has historically been regarded as an accompaniment to good food, we will frequently pair the wines being tasted with a selection of artisanal cheeses and fruit.

Regardless of whether you are a wine “newbie” or a master sommelier, there’s always something new to be shared and experienced when tasting wine with friends, or better yet, friends-to-be! We look forward to greeting some of our new neighbors at the kick-off meeting in June, and each month thereafter. Check the Wine Explorers calendar for additional dates and details.

This group is for all the women on Whidbey Island to connect over things that make them geek out! There are no age, hobby or interest requirements...I just wanted a place for cool chicks to meet and hang out, play board games, discuss things like Star Wars, video games, upcoming concerts, or even just go get coffee and a pedicure.

Skwim Toastmasters offers an affordable public speaking and leadership program.  It is fun, self-directed and self-paced.   In a short time, you'll feel more confident speaking and leading in our community and your workplace. 

Chartered in 2006, Skwim Toastmasters members are unified by a common mission: to enrich our lives and the lives of others through our three values: communication, leadership and community. Skill levels within our club vary from practiced and confident speakers to those of a novice level, ready to conquer their fear of public speaking.  We thrive in a mutually supportive (and fun!) environment. 

Our Mission:  We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. 

How Do We Do It?  We practice prepared and impromptu speaking in pursuit of Competent Communication. We regularly take on meeting roles and serve as club officers as we strive for Competent Leadership within our club, as well as in our workplaces and communities. We appreciate and serve the Community we have built, with good times, laughter and lasting, supportive relationships. 

Who Are We?  Our Members come from many walks of life.  Among them, you'll find beginner and experienced speakers, as well as beginner and experienced leaders.  You’ll find mothers, fathers, grandmothers, accountants, lawyers, salespeople, entrepreneurs, engineers, teachers, retirees and others fill our ranks. 

What one thing do we all have in common?  We have a strong commitment to becoming better...especially at public speaking and leadership.

Then you are in the right place! I am starting this group in the hopes that it will bring like minded Adventurers together, to share stories, inspire, foster new friendships and discover new travel opportunities.

Participation in group organized events is not required, and you do not need to be well traveled to join.

 This group: 

~Will meet in various locations. 

~ Will host guest speakers on travel related topics (Travel Photography, Packing Tips, Specific Destinations, ect) ~ Will organize local trips to cultural events (Food & Travel Related) 

~ Will provide additional opportunities to Travel as a group throughout the year both Domestically & Abroad to member voted destinations. Participation is always optional.
