This is a drinking club with a running problem with the emphasis on running! Each week promised a different location with a brand new adventure! One trail, 6 to 9 miles. 0 to 1 beverage stop during trail. 1.69 checks per mile average to keep it moving. Lower, runnable shiggy ratings 0-6.9 on a 10 scale. Meets \~9:33am, chalk talk, a toast, Live Hares Away and On-Out @9:69am. Short circle afterwards typically with mimosas and maybe a healthy snack. On-After brunch often. Old Town ABA offer paid meet ups for adults 18+ older (accompanied by caretaker/guardian) to engage in community based activities that promote interacting with each other, and the caregiver fading off assistance to promote higher levels of independence in social skills. All meetups are run by Rachel Evans BCBA, LBA, owner of Old Town ABA, a Winchester VA based behavioral health consulting company. Rachel has an adult brother with Autism, and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with years of experience in direct therapy, teaching, and working with individuals with disabilities age 2 up to age 65. Come join Adventure Recreation Group! Get outside, have some fun and adventure - meet new friends. Adventure Recreation Group (ARG) is all about having fun and getting some exercise in the process. We will be hiking, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, mountain biking, camping and cooking outside - riding motorcycles. Other activities can be added of course. It’s all about fun and friendship NOT competition, all are welcome.- In addition to our main group we are also hosting an **ARG Auxiliary** \- which is basically another group within ARG for spouses and others who want to have fun in less physical ways\, such as beading\, rock painting\, card making\, and board games\, and maybe an occasional glass of wine while the rest of us are out on our adventures\. We will be doing something most weekends - weather and situations permitting. This group is still new and I am looking for both members and people who want to help lead and coordinate our outings as Event Leaders and Coordinators. There is also a Facebook group and I am working on a YouTube channel, because it's great to document the "adventure" and gives those interested a glimpse into what they can expect from joining ARG. This group is for anyone interested in hiking longer distances (7+ miles), trips to cool pubs, and hanging out with like-minded individuals! We hike for several hours and then head over to a local brew pub. If you consider yourself an intermediate-skilled hiker, you are welcome to join us! Hike for Beer Next Step is a great combination of fantastic outdoor exercise and fun social interactions. You will be asked to sign a liability waiver on your first hike with the group.

If you feel that you are not quite ready to join us here (beginner-easy/medium skill-level hikers who want hikes under 7 miles in length), but you want to meet us and get to know our members, join our original Meetup group (Hike For Beer) where we seriously know how to have a good time! Most of not all of our leaders and members are involved in both groups! The people in both of our groups include different generations, genders, backgrounds, and cultures and we all bond over hiking and beer, food, wine, chocolate etc... this is a great group of hikers to be part of!

Spiritually Speaking is a group sharing the investigation of spirituality through the examination of all modes of understanding. We investigate topics through ancient beliefs, religious beliefs of all faiths, modern science, and New Thought, in an attempt to expand belief into understanding. We study topics from quantum to universal physics; from indigenous to modern religions; from astrology to zen. We learn from clairvoyants, channelers, NDEs and OBEs. We follow authors including but not limited to Neale Donald Walsch, Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Abraham Hicks, and many others. We encourage members to suggest or request topics for the meetings, to volunteer to lead discussions or meditations, or to explain, demonstrate, and share their related skills and knowledge such as reiki, energy healing, mediumship, acupuncture, massage, aroma therapy, etc.

We meet every second Friday at 7 PM, and fourth Sunday of the month at 2 PM for an hour of meditation, topic presentation, and topic conversation, followed by an hour of fellowship and further conversation, held at our farm in Lovettsville where we are building a spiritual retreat facility.

We're a monthly hiking group for families. We are completely family friendly and focus on getting kids out to enjoy nature and have fun. We meet at 10 am Sunday each month. The Sunday is chosen by the person in charge of that months trail. A fun snack or beverage may be provided at the discretion of the planner that month, but otherwise it is BYO snacks/drinks for kids/adult beverages. It is encouraged to plan something fun for the kids like a stop at a playground, maybe an ice cream place, or wading in a river, for example. Trails can be laid in flour or chalk and should generally not exceed 2 miles. Having a stroller option or stroller work around is preferred, although not required. A group for moms to get out running together! Stroller friendly :) All levels welcome. Shepherdstown Mother Runners is a group created for moms who want to get out running and meet other moms. It is suitable for beginners, pregnant moms & postpartum moms. I run all of my runs pushing a stroller, and I have spare jogging strollers available (single and double) for anyone who would like to borrow one. \*Strollers can only be borrowed if you are attending a Shepherdstown Mother Runners group run. Our runs vary from 2 miles to 6 miles.. We are not training for any competition or race. We are simply getting out for a run with some company. And sometimes going for a coffee afterward :) I'm usually running a 12 min mile pace. The group will run at the speed of the slower runner. There will be stops if needed, to feed, change diaper etc.. There is no pressure to keep up or run fast ! This group really is about getting out and enjoying a run with our kids and other moms. It's important for me to have company when I go running with my kids, I feel safer and I enjoy it more. Our runs usually take place along the C&O canal. I'm going to set aside a time for one weekday MORNING group run, and one weekday EVENING group run. I usually run on the weekend, too. that can be organized in person, if anyone would like to join me. I hope to see some new faces soon :) Sarah
