The hype is real. Biohacking is the next big thing and has the potential to become a mass phenomenon and health revolution. It covers a current human need that is basically unmet today – the need to know what goes on inside our bodies when we’re eating, drinking, working, and moving.

So do you have a desire to not only rule yourself, but become the perfect version of yourself, gain an unfair advantage in life, maximize results, and supercharge your performance? If the answer is YES then I invite you to attend, participate, and grow with us in building a community around finding out what’s possible with our biology in the 21st century.

So, are you “Bio curious”? .

Valley Indie Game Dev Collaborative

Abbotsford, BC

Valley Indie Game Dev Collaborative
Building a game on your own is a big challenge, requiring a wide range of skills beyond just coding: UX, art, sound design, story and dialogue writing, music composition, project management, marketing, etc. To add in some wrinkles to all that, there are multiple tools for each discipline and few of them are quick and easy to learn. Valley Indie Game Dev Collaborative is a space to meet for focused work sessions, network with people outside your core discipline, and expand your skill set. We welcome coders, CG artists, CG modelers, sound designers, regardless of how much experience you have or which tools you use. All you need to know is that you want to participate in creating a game! We host a variety of events including weekly in-person sprint sessions, monthly workshops, occasional social / networking events, and semi-annual online game demo events. In between events, you can hang out in our Discord server: https://discord.gg/S8r9aVut9U In order to grow a group local to the Fraser Valley, we require members to attend at least one event within the first six months of joining, and at least one event a year after that. There's no commitment to attend the sprint session every week (you're welcome to, though!), but the more frequently you attend, the more you'll find your motivation recharged, enough to keep you going on your project through the rest of the week. **Code of Conduct:** 1. Respect and encourage others in their own unique pursuits and directions. Constructive and collaborative feedback is encouraged, but must be kept positive and courteous. 2. Discrimination and bigotry are not welcome, so come with an open mind and supportive attitude. To keep things safe and productive, those in violation of this policy may be removed and banned from the group, at the discretion of the event organizers. 3. Signing up for an event and leaving the RSVP as 'Going' after two hours before an event is committing to showing up for it. If there's a schedule change, it's expected that the RSVP will be updated. No showing with less than two hours or less notice (or none at all) is discourteous, and if a pattern of it develops the individual will be removed from the group. 4. We are not here to challenge one another, game development is where we want to put that energy. Let's all get across our respective finish lines together. Happy coding!

Creating Connection Chilliwack

Chilliwack, BC

Creating Connection Chilliwack
Are you craving deeper connections in life? Not only with other people, but within yourself, the environment around you, the physical world you live in, the infinite universe, or The Divine itself? Our hope is to create opportunities for you to experience the connections that will allow you to find more satisfaction and wholeness in your life. Whether you feel it through your mind, your body, or inner being, deep connection eludes many of us, in part due to the noise of the distractions around us every day, like technology, social media, cultural expectations, schedules too busy to manage, and more, that can all dampen our ability to make the very connections we're craving for in our everyday lives. Through mindful, meaningful, and spiritual conversations, we hope to create a better world for all of us, one small step at a time, and our Nurturing Spirit Retreats provide an opportunity for meditation, gentle yoga, deep relaxation, spiritual conversations, and learning. We are inclusive and value each person and living being on the planet. Blue Heron Toastmasters Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge Speaking

Pitt Meadows, BC

Blue Heron Toastmasters Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge Speaking
Blue Heron Toastmasters is the leading public speaking club in Ridge Meadows. Started in 2010, we help individuals develop their communication and leadership skills in a fun and supportive environment. **Guests are welcome to join us. No appointments are needed** **Every Thursday, 7.30 pm - 9.30 pm** **Blue Heron Toastmasters, Club 1503295, Area 94, Division M, District 96** **MEETING LOCATION:** **South Bonson Community Centre, Pitt Meadows, BC** **Address:**  10932 Barnston View Rd, Pitt Meadows, BC V3Y 0B9 **Doors open at 7:00pm and the meeting starts at 7:30pm sharp.** A typical meeting consists of 2-3 prepared speeches by members. These speeches are based on projects in the Toastmasters Pathways Education system. They are typically 5-7 minutes each and are of a topic of the speaker's choosing. After speeches there will be a short networking break and then each speech is evaluated by a different evaluator to give people tips on what they did well and what they can do to improve and become even better. After the evaluations there is the "Table Topics" portion of the meeting which is impromptu speaking practice. A Table Topics Master will create questions which members take on and answer in a 1–2-minute speech without preparation. This is great practice for speaking off-the-cuff. Often guests are asked to participate in Table Topics but they don’t have to participate if they don’t want to. After Table Topics, people performing roles during the meeting like timekeeper and grammarian give their reports and because everything in Toastmasters is evaluated to help members improve their communication skills. The general evaluator evaluates how the meeting was run and any roles that had yet to be evaluated. **9:30pm Meeting Closes on-time.** **9:31-??? Second meeting starts at the Jolly Coachman Pub!**  **Come and join us for some food and beverage!**
