Greater Social Life Union of Sheffield

The Thumoslang Network is an association of groups whose members use Thumoslang, the nomenclature for social clarity, as their basic strategy for greater social life. Part of the network is the Greater Social Life Union (GSLU). Its mission is long-lasting joy for its members through faster actualization of their personal ideals.

There are many steps on your journey to greater social life. Here are the first steps for members of GSLU. After reading the rest of this introduction, you should read the 2021 book The Guide to Thumoslang. Many of our members put this new knowledge into practice as suggested by The GSLU Handbook.

When you spend more time in damage control mode and less time benefiting from your various relations, you waste a great deal of effort in your social life. Such a cost of opportunity keeps you from going at high speed towards your ideals, in creating your ideal self, and in actualizing what you truly want to become. This is likely due to a lack of social clarity, which is essential for internal conversations and vital for meaningful relationships.

Unintentionally created in 2017, accidentally discovered in 2018, and first taught in 2019, Thumoslang is the nomenclature for social clarity. It is used as a language for faster communication, be it in complex collaboration or difficult conversation. The first widespread use of social clarity has been predicted by Thumoslang pioneers to be just as important as the first widespread control of fire. All is explained by The Guide to Thumoslang, which is backed by The Dictionary of Thumoslang.

Again, the Thumoslang Network is an association of groups whose members use Thumoslang, the nomenclature for social clarity, as their basic strategy for greater social life. Part of the network is the Greater Social Life Union (GSLU). Its mission is long-lasting joy for its members through faster actualization of their personal ideals.

Your ideals are the same as your ideal self, which means what you truly want to become. "Everything else is secondary," said Steve Jobs. Our group activities involve you with the first practical steps in the further development of your ideals, in keeping others from interfering with your life, and in building a group of in-person friends who keep on encouraging you and nurturing your ideals. To be sure, if you lack social clarity in your internal conversations, face unwanted drama too often, are not sure of your social life or your path into the future, or have no friends and no groups available on a regular basis to help create your ideal self, this group is for you.

The Wiccan Federation and its associated covens also hold a number of events not on meetup which are for the members associated with the covens. Although the covens are spiritual groups they are also groups of friends and hold their own gatherings.

We try to avoid bringing members to events in private houses who are unknown to our network unless they are with a friend we know. Additionally we are a group for Wiccans. Our focus is on those seeking to join the Wiccan path.

The group is also limited to the over 21s. We have special arrangements for those who are 20.

Socialise Sheffield

Sheffield, 37

Socialise Sheffield
**Meet, Connect, Chat, Laugh.** Socialise Sheffield is based on a simple premise: meeting up with like-minded people who want to try new things and expand their social circle. We host events as diverse as pub quizzes, meals out and countryside walks, to greyhound racing cinema and theatre trips. So whether you are new to the area, or born and bred here and want a change from the normal status quo of going to the pub with a handful of mates,  join us and let's build up a network of amazing people where we socialise, laugh and above all enjoy life. Socialise Sheffield thrives on its mix of members and our events are friendly and welcoming. Remember every one of us has had a first event at some point, so please do come along - you will be made very welcome. If you would like to keep up to date with all events and announcements, please ensure your notifications are set appropriately. Instructions on how to do it are here [https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/3...](https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002879591-Editing-my-email-settings) , unfortunately this is something I cannot alter for you due to data protection and GDPR. Hope to see you soon **Some basics we ask of you -**  \* **Have a clear photo** -this means your host can recognise you when you come to an event - we don't get many cartoon characters or rivers popping along. \* **Change your RSVP** **as soon as you know you can't attend** – the most frustrating thing for organisers is people no showing, we don’t know if you are ill or had an accident or just chosen not to attend, it only takes two seconds to change to not going, hosts can no show you at their discretion according to what notice you give \* **If you're running late -** let your host know again this just a common courtesy. \* **3 'no-shows' and we will remove you from the group**  - sorry about this, but as above its something which frustrates both the hosts and the other people coming out to enjoy themselves. (the first time this happens you will have chance to rejoin, but if it's persistent we may permanently remove you) \* **Gatecrashing -** Do not "gatecrash" an event which is full  and/or has a waiting list. This will be treated in a similar way to no-showing. Both are disrespectful to hosts and other members. \* **Be respectful** \- remember as a member you will naturally form friendships with some more than others\. The group is about getting out\, meeting new people\, being  sociable but maintaining respect\. In the rare instance you do feel  pestered or harassed \(in person or online\) please let me know either on email or direct message\. \* **Donations -**  If you love the group and want to help keep it free for everyone then you can make a voluntary donation towards the fees If you need to get in touch, we have a gmail email address socialisesheffield@gmail.com ***TERMS AND DISCLAIMER***  **This is a free group to enable people to get together - you should read the info below and understand that we aren't a formally run group, you don't pay a membership, we don't have insurance or training or a formal organisation structure - the group and events are run on goodwill by people who donate their time and energy to create socials for you to attend if you wish to join us.** The purpose of this group is to arrange meetups and social connections to members of Socialise Sheffield, any member participating in any such events does so entirely at their own risk.  It is not the responsibility of this group's organisers or the event hosts of any event arranged via this Meetup group to check and ensure the suitability of individuals to complete any particular event.  It is the responsibility of the individual participating in any event arranged via this group's web pages to ensure that they are in a fit medical state to do so.  **By signing up to and attending an event you confirm the following points:-** 1.      You acknowledge that the organisers including hosts of this group do not necessarily hold any formal qualifications in relation to any of the events or any formal training. 2.      You agree and acknowledge that this group has no legal duty of care to its members and guests and that its organisers including hosts accept no liability for any accident occurring from, or for any injuries arising out of, participation in this group's activities, including travel to and from an event. 3.      Event organisers must ensure their planned event does not contravene the laws of the land, failure to do so will result in the event being deleted and them being prevented from hosting future events (this is a site rule from Meet-Up themselves)
