Greetings! My name is Khalid Abdullah and I'm a 37 year old fast-pitch wood-bat baseball player for an NYMBL baseball team called "The Hurricanes", who I've played for since 2020. With the new spring season around the corner, spring training is under way, and I would love to meet people for batting/fielding drills and anything/everything baseball related. This group would be perfect for anyone committed to growing as a baseball player or even if you're just curious to see what baseball is all about. All are welcome! Practices will include: 1. Batting Practice 1. Soft toss 2. Side toss 3. Tee Work 4. Mechanics 5. Drop drills 6. Single hand batting drills 7. and any assortment of batting drills to help with your technique, bat speed and barrel accuracy 2. Fielding 1. Grounders 2. Fly Balls 3. Double Play training 4. Rundown training I will supply the following. 1. Balls (Used Minor League baseballs, good condition and I buy more regularly) 2. Tee 3. Hitting/Pitching screen I do have 3 Wood Composite bats (Baum), but if you use metal feel free to bring that with you, since the drop weight differential may be significant enough to throw off your timing (should you choose to switch to wood). Please note, I am constantly trying to improve my game and get better at baseball. That will not change for the rest of my life.

It started with a move from nyc to Rowayton, a coastal community in Fairfield County (just 55 minutes from nyc, and steps from the Rowayton train platform). So fortunate for the hands-on opportunity to restore a former livery stable (built sometime between 1820 and 1850) situated on 11.5 acres land/pond. This is an ongoing collaboration with talented architects, designers, concept creatives/tech enthusiasts, tradespeople, engineers, arborists, gardeners, neighbors… We intend to keep this momentum going - helping to keep connecting the likeminded via this forum.

We invite all in and around the community to bring your ideas and talents to the table. We’ll coordinate group discussion, hands on DIY, networking and the like. Please suggest topics and we’ll do our best to facilitate.

Intended outcomes will be around inspiration and the relationships that allow for the followthrough desired. Or simply some time well spent with dynamic people from the neighborhood.
