Network After Work is a professional community consisting of Entrepreneurs, Professionals, Executives and thought leaders who understand the importance of building meaningful connections. Built on the idea that professionals in every industry across the world all share a common goal, to develop strong relationships that help grow their businesses and careers. Through meeting in-person and virtually, Network After Work provides a platform that makes connecting easy. Hosting live events in 87 US locations with plans to add additional US cities and international locations, growing your business and relationships has never been easier.

For 10 years, we have been at the forefront of face-to-face business connections. As social media and virtual relationships have been all the rage over the past decade, we have found that live interactions are still the best way to build solid connections. Shaking hands and looking someone in the eye is an invaluable skill and builds the strongest foundation for long lasting connection.

Though meeting in-person is our foundation, meeting virtually is a great accompaniment to our signature live events. With our goal to make your business connections long lasting and sustainable, our mission is to do everything for you, all you need is the desire to seize new opportunities and the willingness to help others.

AWBL

Madison, CT

AWBL

The Association of Women Business Leaders (AWBL) is a community of Connecticut women professionals who network, brainstorm and empower each other in their business pursuits. More than a networking group, AWBL has a strong educational aspect to assist members in growing their businesses while maintaining balance. Come and experience our inspiring speakers.

WE ARE STILL MEETING - READ OUR CHANGES IN 2019

In July of 2017 we moved from Comfort Keepers, 722 Village Walk, Guilford due to the sale of the business.

Thank you Patti Urban for your  commitment to AWBL and giving us a home for so many years. We created a wonderful community and we still will keep it going.

Finding a venue on the shoreline that can serve us mornings has been a challenge to say the least. We tried  various venues and locations in 2018 and they were not the right fit.

WE DID  NOT WANT TO ABANDON OUR AWBL COMMUNITY THAT HAD COME TO RELY ON THE CONNECTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN CREATED. WHEN THE LEADERSHIP MET THE FEELINGS WERE MUTUAL AND WHILE WE ARE ALL BUSY WE LOVE THIS GROUP AND ITS MISSION.

WE ARE SHIFTING TO A NEW FORMAT FOR NOW. WE HOPE YOU WILL CONTINUE JOIN US.

We are currently meeting quarterly (4 Meetings) from September to June only. We are moving to a lunch meeting and it will be the 2nd Thursday and 2 hours to accommodate lunch and speaker. See Dates below.

You will still be required to pay $5 at the door and be responsible for the cost of your lunch and beverage.  Check our meeting listings for details. For now mark your calendars for dates and times established.

Northeast Emergency Survival and Preparedness Network

Meriden, CT

Northeast Emergency Survival and Preparedness Network

The purpose of this group is to bring together like-minded individuals that have an interest in gaining knowledge, acquiring new skills and networking with other like-minded individuals that are survivalists and preppers.

Our goal is to prepare for most disaster scenarios whether they are natural or man-made. We will be using a combination of presentation groups and hands-on training. Attendees will need to bring at least a multi-tool or Swiss army knife to all meetings. Other types of necessary equipment will be specified in the event announcements. I will not be able to accommodate people that don't have the required gear. If an all day wilderness training is scheduled and you don't bring your own food and water, you may be asked not to participate.

We will be covering a wide range of topics including everything from basic survival skills to long term survival. Along with the skills you will also need the tools to survive. Although I'm not an advocate of 'Naked and afraid' type survival, I can demonstrate the skills that would be needed in a similar situation. I just ask that nobody goes to the meetings naked.

As the group progresses I plan on scheduling several overnight trips and camp and training weekends. Most of the meetings will be held at various locations that relate to the training topic. I would also like to form groups of people who live in a specific area that would want to work together and help each other in a SHTF situation. Ultimately I would like to see a network of these small groups stretched across the region.

This is not a doom and gloom type group. By gaining the knowledge, skills and tools for survival, you should not have to be afraid for your life in a disaster situation. Rather, this is a confidence building group. Sometimes even a little bit of fun can reinforce skills memorization.

We do not discriminate against age, sex, race, religion, or political affiliation. Members are expected to show courtesy and respect to other members regardless of any individual differences.

I plan on holding meetings every other Sunday even if it's just a discussion group. Fortunately we live in an area with an abundance of places to pick up new skills so we should be out and about quite often. I will try to keep events scheduled for at least three months at a time but they may be subject to change so check back often.

Cultural Autism Studies at Yale (CASY Sparks)

New Haven, CT

Cultural Autism Studies at Yale (CASY Sparks)
[4/1/2024] We are now "Cultural Autism Studies at Yale" (a.k.a. CASY Sparks), formally known as Community Autism Socials at Yale or Project CASY. CASY Sparks is the next major evolution of Project CASY!  This reflects so many changes and improvements in our current and future programing. According to Merriam-Webster, spark means to "set off in a burst of activity," "respond with enthusiasm," or "stir to activity."  It’s no wonder why the word is commonly used in modern industries, organizations, and other action-oriented entities.  Whether you’re a Connecticut native who has been with us since 2014 or just joined our borderless community from across the country, you will find that this simple word eloquently describes how we innovate and discover for the benefit of the autism communities with whom we partner. CASY Sparks describes the unique and energetic way we carry out the mission of CASY which is to improve lives of people with autism across the lifespan, regardless of their physical location, through social innovation and impactful research.  While the overall goal has always been to maximize quality of life across the autism spectrum, how we learned to do this most effectively has evolved as we learned through an iterative process of constant community engagement.  Our solid foundation in academia and collaborations with myriad organizations and industries creates fertile ground for new ideas and ways to know better and do better.  As a borderless community connected online through multiple social media platforms, developments can happen quickly and shared broadly. This also means that CASY Sparks meetings are open to all: those with autistic identity, autism diagnoses, those who are otherwise neurodivergent, and those who are simply allies in the community! The program was originally founded as Project CASY back in April 2014 with the goal to improve the lives of people with autism diagnoses starting out with more traditional approaches to education and social recreation.  Years of experience holding groups and events for our communities led to gradual changes and development of different ways to increase impact on those we serve.  We noticed greater traction to achieving our goals with strategic deviations from the status quo – different ways of doing for different ways of thinking and being. Over the past several years, there has been a greater focus on leveraging available technology, particularly how we use social media and other online resources to connect individuals and communities.  While most of our programing has benefited adults, this will evolve as we expand our program to include youth and families.  When they become adults, they will never be alone in CASY Sparks! With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Project CASY quickly pivoted to robust 100% online programming through Zoom video conferencing and other user-friendly technologies.  As much as we encouraged physical distancing, we also encouraged "distance socializing" and created appropriate opportunities.  Using our years of community connection and in-person experiences, we quickly began offering many more virtual events during the early pandemic than we have ever held in person in the prior years.  I’m pleased to share that our community has more than doubled in those short years and continues to grow at an unprecedented rate. But don’t take our word for it - check it out for yourself!  All our groups, events and research studies are documented meticulously across multiple social media platforms @DrRogerJou, mainly Facebook, Instagram, Meetup, and YouTube.  This list will continue to grow along with the endless spark for new ideas.  While already diverse, this only narrowly reflects what we have planned for immediate and distant future.  Yes, we are in it for the long haul and just getting started on a new and improved "normal" for autism – come join us wherever you live! We'd love to hear your suggestions and comments. Tell us what worked well, what could improve, what we should create and what we should get rid of. The sky's the limit! If you are not yet a member and would like to view present, past and (near) future offerings, please consider visiting our Facebook page [https://www.facebook.com/DrRogerJou](https://www.facebook.com/DrRogerJou). For those unfamiliar with the Meetup platform, please consider joining our private Facebook groups: SOCIAL CONNECTIVITY FOR AUTISM (https://lnkd.in/e7egzA34) or CASY Cultural Autism Studies (https://lnkd.in/eTEeQDWS). CREDITS: CASY Sparks membership, hosted events and meetings are free.  CASY Sparks is sponsored in part by The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation Adult Autism Research Fund, a generous gift from the Rosen family, and the research of Dr. Roger Jou, including Simons Foundation Powering Autism Research for Knowledge (SPARK) Clinical Site Network - Yale University ([https://www.SPARKforAutism.org/Yale](https://www.SPARKforAutism.org/Yale)). As always, please consider sharing with your community / network.  Thank you. **INSTRUCTIONS FOR SIGNING UP:** There's more to this website, but in order to view it, you must be a member of CASY Sparks.
