Christian Small Business Owners — Education & Networking

Hartford, CT

Christian Small Business Owners — Education & Networking
Our events are now completely online. We are a group of Christian small business owners looking to have breakthroughs in the following: 1 Continuing education: Actionable insights for running a profitable small business in accordance with the will of God 2 Contacts: You will meet other Christian Small Business Owners, so that you can establish collaborations and friendships 3 The joy of being on a faith-based business journey together with other Christian Small Business Owners Are you a follower of Jesus Christ and a solopreneur or small business owner? Then please join our group ASAP! See you soon, and be blessed! Norbert Bollow, Organizer P. S. for the benefit of those who like to have things spelled out in detail, here are some more specifics: Goals of the group: Learning from each other in informal discussion and from prepared presentations. Business networking / creating contacts, collaborations and friendships. Having a good time together. We are committed to creating a healthy community of support for all our members for their wellbeing and business. We will learn from experience what specific kinds of events to do in order to pursue these goals, but there will probably always be some educational content, some related discussion, and some social and business networking aspects. All events of the group are provided free of charge. There are no costs or fees charged to members. We all benefit most from our interactions when events are well-attended, without the hassle of fees getting in the way. Who should join the group: Christian Small Business Owners, widely interpreted. Besides well-established businesses, it’s also quite ok if your business is only a side hustle or even still a dream transitioning to the planning phase. All who consider themselves Christians, or even just curious about the Christian faith, are welcome. While we discuss the application of what the Bible says to today’s business realities, differences of theology and faith practices between different faith traditions are not what we’re concerned with in this group. The group and all events are intended to be a friendly and totally discrimination-free environment. If someone says something that you consider to be incompatible with the Christian faith, please treat them as an honored guest. The organizer of this group is himself a Christian solopreneur, self-employed as a business coach. The group is not affiliated with any religious or business organization beyond this group and a couple of similar groups run by the same organizer, each with a different geographical focus; online events can be shared across groups in order to bring a good number of like-minded people together.

The mission of the group is to engage and increase access to the outdoors and outdoors activities like hiking, cycling, kayaking, snowshoeing and others for all members of the LGBTQIA community and their families - while at the same time creating new friendships and bonds within the community at large. We have been running another Gikers: Gay Hikers & Bikers- LGBTQ & Friends group in another city now for several years and have enjoyed it and met some great people while enjoying some great hiking, biking, snowshoeing and fun social events. The group started small and it is now over 1,500, but we find ourselves spending increasingly more time in CT/NYC/TriState Area, and we love the outdoors - so we decided to start one here this summer to explore all the incredible trails this great state offers. Most of the events are free to participate in, but some of the parks and their parking areas may have fees and we will do our best to post those upfront on the event. We also love dogs, and whenever possible, we will post if the park/trail permits dogs, but in all cases - only people/pet friendly non-aggressive dogs that are up to date in all vaccinations; are kept on leash, and owners are responsible for picking up after them at all times. Looking to do mainly weekend hikes, snowshoeing & bike rides around Connecticut, and at our first event - we put together a work in progress list of about 50 hikes suggested by group members that is now posted on our message board, but we always welcome new suggestions & will continue adding to this initial list. "If life were to come with a manual, this in my opinion would be it! If we all applied the Inner Engineering technology, our world would instantly transform to exist from a foundation of peace, joy, and compassion for all beings." -Evita Ochel

For all of the strides we have made in science and technology with standards of living unimaginable a century ago, most human beings still remain in search of wholeness and purpose in their lives. Inner Engineering is scientifically-structured to offer powerful processes from the ancient tradition of yoga to transcend the limitations of who you are and bring you to higher levels of consciousness. Inner Engineering was designed by Sadhguru, a yogi, visionary, and one the foremost authorities on yoga as a powerful tool to create your life the way you want it.

Sadhguru & Deepak Chopra— Creating Inner Peace, Joy and Fulfillment in a Hectic Modern World

"The word 'yoga' means union, that means you experience the entire universe as yourself...by working with the body, by working with the mind, by working with your emotion and energy, you can setup a step-by- step system within yourself where your energies are kept at such a level of exuberance that your sensory body is as large as the universe...Once you experience everybody around you as yourself... your goodness is a consequence, not an effort."

About Sadhguru—Sadhguru is a realized yogi and mystic – a man whose passion spills into everything he encounters. With a keen mind, balanced by a heart that knows no boundary, his presence and powerful yoga programs create an extraordinary opportunity to break through limitations into one’s natural state of freedom, love and joy.

Sadhguru has a unique ability to make the ancient science of yoga relevant to contemporary minds. Sadhguru serves as a bridge to the deeper dimensions of life. His approach does not ascribe to any belief system, but offers methods for self-transformation that are both proven and powerful.

An author, poet and internationally renowned speaker, Sadhguru’s wit and piercing logic provoke and broaden our thoughts and perception of the meaning of life, the very purpose of life. Sadhguru has been an influential voice at major global forums including the UN, MIT, TED, and the World Economic Forum.

Sadhguru established Isha Foundation, a non-profit organization supported by over two million volunteers worldwide. From powerful yoga programs and meditation practices to large-scale humanitarian projects, the foundation’s activities are designed to create an inclusive culture and establish global harmony, earning a special consultative status with the United Nations.

Alternatives to Suicide Connecticut

Hartford, CT

Alternatives to Suicide Connecticut
Welcome to Connecticut's **Alternatives to Suicide** network. ***Alt2su Middletown group has been cancelled due to inclement weather: 1/9/24. Please check out our other groups, in-person and online options. Or please join us next week. Thank you for understanding!*** This is a network of mutual Peer Support groups. [Alternatives to Suicide (also called: Alt2Su)](https://toivocenter.org/alternatives-to-suicide/) is a network of peer-run support groups for people dealing with suicidal thoughts, urges, and/or previous attempts. [[If you are interested in attending one of our virtual Alt2su groups, please email the contact person for that group, listed on our [webpage](https://toivocenter.org/alternatives-to-suicide/).]] These groups are safe places to talk about topics directly related to struggles with suicidal urges, Depression, or whatever else needs to be expressed. Our Facilitators are trained to listen and use their own lived experience in support of others. In these groups, we encourage the notion of **responsibility *to* one another, not *for* one another.** In lieu of this value, people can openly express their experiences without fear of someone calling crisis intervention or psychiatric hospitalization. We will only involve these services with the person's clear consent and group members will never be pressured to do so at any time. These groups are for adults, 18+. People are encouraged to come during times of crisis, as well as during times of strength. You do not need a referral to join us. Participation is completely voluntary. No attendance is taken. Your attendance will be totally confidential. **We do ask that attendees come with an open mind, free of judgement - ready to receive emotional support as well as lend it to others.** This network is brought to you by Toivo Center and Advocacy Unlimited, a Peer-run organization serving Connecticut. For more information about our approach and values, please take a look at the [Alternatives to Suicide group charter](https://wildfloweralliance.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/CHARTER_alt2su_August-edits.pdf?msclkid=2316f6dad09711ec96b75f6ee67b4894) - *as originally developed by the Wildflower Alliance, a peer-run organization in western Massachusetts.*
