Greater Social Life Union of Worcester

Worcester, MA

Greater Social Life Union of Worcester

The Thumoslang Network is an association of groups whose members use Thumoslang, the nomenclature for social clarity, as their basic strategy for greater social life. Part of the network is the Greater Social Life Union (GSLU). Its mission is long-lasting joy for its members through faster actualization of their personal ideals.

There are many steps on your journey to greater social life. Here are the first steps for members of GSLU. After reading the rest of this introduction, you should read the 2021 book The Guide to Thumoslang. Many of our members put this new knowledge into practice as suggested by The GSLU Handbook.

When you spend more time in damage control mode and less time benefiting from your various relations, you waste a great deal of effort in your social life. Such a cost of opportunity keeps you from going at high speed towards your ideals, in creating your ideal self, and in actualizing what you truly want to become. This is likely due to a lack of social clarity, which is essential for internal conversations and vital for meaningful relationships.

Unintentionally created in 2017, accidentally discovered in 2018, and first taught in 2019, Thumoslang is the nomenclature for social clarity. It is used as a language for faster communication, be it in complex collaboration or difficult conversation. The first widespread use of social clarity has been predicted by Thumoslang pioneers to be just as important as the first widespread control of fire. All is explained by The Guide to Thumoslang, which is backed by The Dictionary of Thumoslang.

Again, the Thumoslang Network is an association of groups whose members use Thumoslang, the nomenclature for social clarity, as their basic strategy for greater social life. Part of the network is the Greater Social Life Union (GSLU). Its mission is long-lasting joy for its members through faster actualization of their personal ideals.

Your ideals are the same as your ideal self, which means what you truly want to become. "Everything else is secondary," said Steve Jobs. Our group activities involve you with the first practical steps in the further development of your ideals, in keeping others from interfering with your life, and in building a group of in-person friends who keep on encouraging you and nurturing your ideals. To be sure, if you lack social clarity in your internal conversations, face unwanted drama too often, are not sure of your social life or your path into the future, or have no friends and no groups available on a regular basis to help create your ideal self, this group is for you.

*** MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS ***

Our group activities bring you the following benefits:

Benefit 1 - Mastery of Relationships

As new GSLU members participate in the union's activities, they will quickly find themselves having noticeable enhancements in their social lives. The further they participate in GSLU activities, the faster they naturally acquire the mastery of relationships.

Benefit 2 - Best Friends for Your Ideals

Our group activities include practical steps in building a group of in-person friends who keep on encouraging you and nurturing your ideals.

Benefit 3 - Internal Dialogues More Effective

Thumoslang is a set of terminology whose use is intended to benefit one's clarity in social situations. Consequently, Thumoslang allows you to have clearer communication with yourself in your mind.

Benefit 4 - Meaningful Relationships Much Stronger

Our members use Thumoslang to mend or strengthen their existing relationships, build new relations, and achieve greater social life.

Benefit 5 - Faster Actualization of Your Ideals

The actualization of your ideals goes faster when it regularly involves your best group, which is the small group of in-person, second-mind friends who are the best for the nurturing of your ideals. Our activities help you speed up the actualization of your ideals by reducing social roadblocks and increasing social shortcuts in your life.

Metrowest Older Moms Network

Hopkinton, MA

Metrowest Older Moms Network

Are you a "mature" mother of a pre-school child who wants to connect with other moms? Would you like to make new friends for yourself and find playmates for your kids? Then join us!

Did you come of age during the Cold War and scandals like the Iran Contra affair? Did you spend hours watching MTV when all it showed were 24-hour music videos? Did you play with a Rubik's Cube or try to clear the last level of Pac Man? Did you ever have the hallmark "big hair?" Do you remember the original Pop Rocks and the "New Coke?" Can you do all the "arm moves" for Y.M.C.A.? And did you truly get tired of hearing your doctor refer to you as a "mother of advanced maternal aged?" (I did!)

If yes... then...

You should join other like-minded moms for playdates, coffee, lunch, free activities at local libraries (like story time, music shows, magicians) and other kid-friendly activities. We plan Moms' Night Out once each month for some grown-up conversation. Our calendar is bursting with fun activities that include kid-friendly outings, playground playdates, and library events. We welcome all suggestions for activities.

Our group is designed primarily for stay-at-home mothers of children from newborns to kindergarten who are able to take part in daytime events, but working mothers are certainly welcome. We plan some weekend events to accommodate those who can't meet during the day.

We welcome diversity and differing opinions, and hope that we can cultivate a close-knit group of mothers connecting around their kids. Moms who share an interest in attachment parenting, breastfeeding, eating healthy and organic, co-sleeping, the "no-cry sleep solution," baby wearing, cloth diapering, green living, recycling, alternative or holistic medicine, or natural parenting are especially encouraged to join. But ALL are welcome!

Expectant mothers and stay-at-home dads welcome, too!

We hope this group can be a great source of support and friendship. If this sounds like a good fit for you and you live in the MetroWest Area or just beyond, we hope you decide to join us!

*This group has been listed as "private" in order to protect ourselves and our children from internet predators. We have a full calendar that is private until you join.

Westborough Walks

Westborough, MA

Westborough Walks

This group is operated by Westborough Community Land Trust (4/18/2021)

Discover the many outdoor charms of Westborough through hikes and activities guided by volunteers from the Westborough Community Land Trust (WCLT). Each event description will include a meeting location, estimated distance, duration, and level of difficulty. All are welcome.

WCLT acts as stewards for over 400 acres of land in Westborough including the Charm Bracelet trail system -- a community-wide network of over 50 miles of trails. https://westboroughlandtrust.org

The fine print: Although hiking is generally a very safe activity, there are small risks of mosquito or tick-borne disease, exposure to poison ivy, and injury (e.g., twisted ankle). We will do our very best to minimize those risks, but participation in these activities is at your own personal risk. WCLT will require that each adult participant sign a "Release and Waiver" for each event on behalf of themselves and any accompanying minor children.

WorkingMom Social Club

Franklin, MA

WorkingMom Social Club
WorkingMom Social Club is a fun, welcoming community of local working moms residing in the Southwestern suburbs of Boston & Northern RI that like to work hard (in or out of the home), but play harder - both with and without our kids! Let's be honest, it can be hard to find time for socialization and friendship when you're balancing a work schedule (and potential commute!) and a never-ending list of chores to accomplish.  But building a solid social support network can be one of the best things you can do for yourself (and your children!) in this crazy journey called motherhood.  Other moms always just seem to "get it" and can be there to help support you through the highs and lows of #parenthood.  That is why the WorkingMom Social Club was founded.  To help facilitate social activities geared towards working moms' schedules - weekends and evenings - to make it as easy as possible for them to meet, mingle, and form lasting social bonds with each other. Our events are geographically concentrated along the I-495 belt from Milford to Taunton including the following surrounding towns: Franklin, Bellingham, Medway, Milford, Millis, Holliston, Mendon, Hopedale, Blackstone, Plainville, Wrentham, Norfolk, Foxboro, Mansfield, North Attleboro, Attleboro, Norton, Taunton, and Northern RI Our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is supported exclusively through member volunteer efforts and funded primarily by our annual $25 membership fee which will give you access to our social calendar of events including playgroups, Mom's nights out, family-friendly activities, and other WMSC sponsored (free to members) events and activities. Participation is key to the success of our socially-based organization.  Therefore, we have a requirement for all members to host at least one event per membership year.  We also encourage regular attendance at our events and engagement in our social media channels to get the most of being a part of our social network PLEASE NOTE that because we are committed to forming in-person social bonds in a safe and friendly environment, all new members requesting to join our social organization will be required to: 1. Make your Meetup username reflect the name you want our members to call you at events 2. Ensure your Meetup profile includes a photo of YOU - and not just your child(ren) so that we all feel comfortable seeing the face behind the name. This will also help members recognize each other at events 3. Fill out and submit our membership waiver form that is linked in the automated email you receive upon submitting your Meetup membership request
