Network of people interested in Whole Food Plant Based Health (WFPB), with no oil (NO).

The focus of this group is networking and meeting new friends who follow a Whole Foods Plant Based diet that excludes oil and refined sugar for the prevention and reversal of diseases, including heart, cancer, diabetes, and others. This Meetup is most fitting for those who are familiar with titles such as China Study, Forks Over Knives, How Not to Die, Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease, Dr. Neal Barnard's Program for Reversing Diabetes, Fed Up, and Food, Inc., as well as those who are familiar with doctors including Doctors Neal Barnard, Colin Campbell, Caldwell Esselstyn, Michael Greger, John McDougall, and Dean Ornish.

Past face-to-face meetups have been informal and conversational, and at a variety of locations. Some of the announcements are about live stream online video presentations. This group is for anyone interested in volunteer trail maintenance and natural resource management on Bull Run Mountains Natural Area Preserve. This group is operated by Virginia Outdoors Foundation Preserve staff with the goal to maximize our volunteer work and volunteer force to maintain the current trail network and increase the community of people coming out to the preserve and working alongside staff!

All skill levels are welcome and our activities have some range such as: trail clearing, constructing, general maintenance, invasive species removal, building and repairing water bars and various special projects occurring on the preserve! We meet once a month (weather and conditions permitting), and generally work for anywhere from two to four hours.

This volunteer group will not be restricted to trail work - we will be posting all volunteer opportunities and events that are occurring on the preserve! So if trail work isn't totally your thing, no worries - there will be other volunteer events posted here that might be more up your alley!
We're looking forward to protecting and preserving our native habitat and trail network with everyone!

I started this group in the hopes of bringing together like-minded individuals with similar goals, challenges, and issues in order to provide a supportive network to one another, and expand our social circle for ourselves and our children. As we expand our friendships, we can enrich our lives through shared experiences with our children, as well as parents-only events.
