Networking With A Purpose

Thiensville, WI

Networking With A Purpose

What we’ll do:

Shake things up!  Think about this for a second.  I want you to think of how you Networked in the past and forget it for a minute.  Let’s do this: Network with a purpose…  Are you someone who promised yourself 2018 would be different?  Did you tell yourself you would network more, meet new people, get out of your comfort zone, volunteer in your community, give back?  Well, look no further.  If you can relate to anything I just said, than this is the group for you.

What is Networking with a purpose, you ask?  It’s exactly what the old saying says: Do what you love and success will follow.  Paying It Back, Pays. Investing in your community is a great way to give back to those who have helped support you or your business.  The problem is, most people think they cannot make a difference as one person. Well, I’m here to tell you they’re wrong.  I’m not “most” people and WE are stronger in numbers.  Your idea, my idea, OUR ideas will make a big impact in the community around us.  Have you ever walked past the tv and stopped in your tracks as the news spotlighted an extraordinary individual who fed the homeless out of the back of the trunk of their car on Thanksgiving Day?  Did it stir up an emotion in you and made you want to BE that helping hand?  The only difference between you and them… they acted on their thoughts, you continue to think them.

So, hit that JOIN THE GROUP button, get involved with this group and I promise you it will be one of the most rewarding steps of your life.  There are so many ways we can give back AND help grow each other’s business while we’re at it.  You see, we will still converse and talk about what it is we do in our 9-5’s.  We will also know people who can use our services that we provide in our 9-5 jobs.  We will get excited about finding a Networking Group that we look forward to attending and I promise you, you will walk away refreshed and seeing opportunities around every corner.  I challenge you to change your way of thinking that Networking doesn't have to just be about handing out a business card, giving your 60 second elevator speech & wondering what you could possibly say to set you apart from any other business person in the room.  Not in this group!  Nope… here, you will arrive and everyone will know your name and welcome you.  You can slide up a chair, grab a coffee or a bite to eat and together we will get to know each other in a comfortable social setting.  You are going to be surprised at how a little outside the box thinking will create so much good in the world, you just might leave with a cheesy smile ya just can’t get rid of.  Not to mention, when you tell all your friends and co-workers about it, they are going to want to join in on the goodness.  And that my friend, is Networking With A Purpose. We’re going to need a bigger space.

What are you waiting for? Join the group and RSVP to our next event.  Please remember, when you RSVP, you mean it.  Looking forward to giving back to our communities... Together, 1 Passion at a time.

Christian Singles of Southeast Wisconsin (50 and UP)
We are a fun and social group that provides opportunities for Christian Singles to connect. We enjoy networking, doing activities, and participating in local events together. WE BELIEVE that your FAITH (or lack thereof) determines so much about the way you view the World and move through your life. When your Faith is at the Core of your Being, you desire someone who will understand you on a Spiritual Level and help you Grow in your Faith.. That being said, Dating (in hopes of possibly finding God's Match for you) is allowed and encouraged. Join us and bring a friend!    As Christians and members of this group, we believe in the Deity of JESUS Christ, in His Virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, and His atoning death through His shed blood on the Cross, in His bodily Resurrection and Ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in  His imminent personal return in Power and Glory.  We BELIEVE that Repentance and Faith in JESUS IS the only way to get to Heaven. We believe in ONE God, eternally existing in three persons. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible is the authoritative and inspired Word of God and is trustworthy and reliable for telling us what to believe and how to live.  We believe that Christianity is not a religion rather a Personal Relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.   When you sign up for the group, please include a recent picture of yourself to help us identify who you are when you come to the events. This is not only a common courtesy but a REQUIREMENT for membership.  Thank you for your cooperation. Milwaukee Deutsch

Milwaukee, WI

Milwaukee Deutsch
We are Milwaukee's German language networking and meetup group. Whether you are from a German speaking country and have moved here recently, have lived in Milwaukee for a couple of years, or you speak German as a second language we invite you to our meetups. If you are interested in practicing your language skill or socializing with other German speakers, the German Language Meetup Group is a great way to meet people and get involved in the community. The German Language Meetup group meets in five different locations each month. We will inform you about the many fun activities and family and cultural events happening in Milwaukee throughout the year. These activities and events appeal to a broad range of members, which includes couples, singles and families. Check out our Activities & Events site for more information. Where we have come from . . .  The Meetup website was started in 2006 to gather in one place the various stammtisch groups in the Milwaukee area. Heiko Zuerker, a German language and culture enthusiast, took the lead and made arrangements for creating the website. He had started and grown a stammtisch at Kegel's Inn on Saturday nights. Zuerker managed and financially supported the site, followed by Elisabeth Sammer-Kohls and John Dienhart. Today the organizer is Sandy Casterline. All the Stammtische are conveniently listed in one place. The earliest German language groups were started via "word of mouth" and with hosts managing email lists to remind attendees of the next Meetup date. Today there are five thriving Stammtische. > Stammtisch Downtown Milwaukee: Petra Theurich and Sabine Schwark organized a Meetup downtown at The Old German Beer Hall when it opened in 2005. The moved to Cafe Brucke and then to the Über Tap Room and Cheese Bar. > Lake Country Stammtisch: Petra started another group at Weissgerber's Gasthaus shortly thereafter which thrived in that one location until Weissgerber's closed and the group moved on to the Delafield Brew Haus and finally to the Thunder Bay Grill. > Germantown Stammtisch: The stammtisch at the Von Rothernburg Vierstube in Germantown was started by Eveline Kehlert in 2013 and is currently next door at the Old Town Bier Hall, complete with a Hunde Bar (your dog will not go thirsty) and live music. > Stammtisch Cafe Bavaria: The Cafe Bavaria Stammtisch was stated in 2015 by Doug Scott, which boasts a Stammtisch Ecke. > Kenosha-Racine Stammtisch: This Stammtisch was organized by John Kiel and Petra Theurich in 2015 and moves between the Mars Cheese Castle and a summer outdoor location. The groups are autonomous with individual hosts. The Meetup website lists further hosts who are involved today and it also occasionally lists other German events in the Greater Milwaukee community. Others, though not listed, have contributed and continue to do so to keep our Milwaukee Deutsch culture alive. The Meetup website is the place for information on the current group locations, dates and times. We invite you to join us in promoting and supporting German language and culture! Your Organizer team!

Each member's privacy and safety will be maintained in all group communications. Messages must be approved by a member of the leadership team before being posted. The leadership team wants to share these group membership guidelines:   The purpose of the group is support, mentoring and empowerment. Persons with autism, PDDNOS and their immediate family, support or guardian are welcome. The Group is not intended for NTs (neuro-typicals) to come ‘observe’, teacher/therapist training or product promotions.   Open, honest, non-judgmental and confidential discussion is essential. We are helpers not hurters. Our group is not therapy. We support and mentor. We do not provide personal therapist services for individuals. Deeply personal content should not be shared in this setting.  All members need the opportunity to share. Turns will be taken in seeking input and offering support. If a member dominates the group leader will ask them to step back for others' turns.  We need to keep content and language PG rated out of respect for the younger members present.  Members need to provide their own transportation and shouldn't ask others to provide rides. Members may offer but not feel obligated.  We will not market products or services to the group members. Members may share recommendations member to member The group provides a social outlet for members to meet each other in real life, in person for social connections. As members get to know each other they may wish to get together outside of the group meetings. The leadership team reminds members to use common sense safety measures if they meet outside the group setting. It is recommended that members do NOT meet someone from the group site outside of the group setting as their first in person meeting.  In order to keep the group comfortable for all anyone who is physically or verbally abusive to others will be immediately removed from the group. Group members are not to stalk or aggressively pursue others in group for dates, relationships or hook-ups. Our meeting space has been provided as a gracious gift to our group. Group members must respect the space we use. No littering inside or outside. Members are to clean up after themselves. We are to use the space we’re assigned and restrooms only. Members are not to wander the building, look into providers space or snoop. If you are curious ask for a tour. Group member health and well-being is important to us. We have members with existing health issues and sensory sensitivity. If a member causes excessive noise, touching without permission, odors or is distracting or disruptive they will be spoken to about the issue.  Group leaders will determine if a member needs to leave a meeting based on these issues. Group members are not welcome at group meetings or functions when under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol or being under or over medicated with prescribed medications. Group members exhibiting disruptive behavior will be asked to leave that meeting/function. While a single incident will not result in the member being banned, repeated occurrences will be reviewed and could result in member being banned from group.  If a member is disruptive they will be asked to leave. If they do not leave police will be called. Group members need to be aware there are mandated reporters within the group. These are people who are required by law to report disclosures of sexual abuse, harassment and/or illegal activity. Some group members may have a legal guardian, meaning they can not legally consent. Serious references to any criminal activity planned, especially violence or illegal drug purchase or use is strictly prohibited.  When joking as part of venting this needs to be clarified.  The group members will not be made complicit to a crime due to member disclosure. Members will be given three warnings before removal from the group for: • Dominating meetings • Inappropriate sharing • Vulgar language • Perpetual crisis mode • Ignoring boundaries as explained above and/or by group leadership **Joining of Wisconsin Autism Empowerment group serves as agreement to the above.**
