This private group is designed around getting hard working like minded Conservatives together for fun outdoor adventures. We are a group of students who decided to create an active outdoor club at the University of Calgary. We go out in the mountains as often as possible and share our love for sport in nature, wilderness, and amazing views. We also promote an active agenda of responsible, sustainable enjoyment of the wild, and environmental consciousness. In order to join, you must be a student or affiliated with the University of Calgary (i.e. staff, alumni) or a current student of other Calgary post secondary institution. When registering we require that you provide your full first name and at least the initial of your last name, as well as a photo of yourself. To come to events, you will need to pay an annual $10 membership fee and complete an event waiver; this waiver will be sent to you by the event organizer. Membership runs from September to September as per the school year and the one time annual fee gives you unlimited access to all of our events. Do you remember attending youth group at church? It’s kind of like that, but for grown-ups. We are a group of Christian singles who love God and enjoy getting together to have fun. Our founder, Debbie, had a vision to start a Meetup group where Christian singles could get to know each other and fellowship through fun activities. The Mosaic Outdoor Chapter of Calgary is a unique non-profit organization dedicated to bringing Jewish people together to enjoy and foster a greater appreciation of the outdoors. This group has been created to organize events around the outdoor activities that I am passionate about: hiking, biking and skiing.

Hiking: I plan on starting weekly Sunday hikes starting in April, depending on the weather with conditioning events being held at the stairs at McHugh Bluff. Remember, conditioning can make the difference between enjoying a hike and surviving a hike!

Biking: I thoroughly enjoy taking advantage of Calgary's bike friendly pathways.
Events will also include circumnavigation of the city via the Calgary Green Belt and biking up Highwood Pass in June!

XC Skiing - I plan on XC skiing every Sunday from January to April, and again from December to January, culminating in an overnight stay at Elk Lake Cabin!

I would also like to explore adventure vacations that involve hiking, biking and skiing. I plan on holding planning meetings to discuss the possibility of Cycling trips to Cuba, hiking in the Central Mexican Plateau and biking in the Kelowna Wine Country,

How many times have you seen hiking clubs where if you're not a super fast uber- hiker they don't want you going on any harder hikes or scrambles. They believe that if you are slower you should only stick to the easier stuff. Boring!! **This is a club for those of us who still wish to do all styles of hiking from easy walks to scrambles.** We just don't feel the need to make a "mad dash" for a summit or to finish a trail in record time. Hiking and being in the outdoors is meant to be an enjoyable activity for all of us. **Slow and Steady is about hiking at a consistent, manageable pace -- which may vary from slow to moderate depending on the organizer -- and finishing the hike or scrambling to a summit together.** If this is more your style and wish to meet like minded hikers please consider joining our club.
