London International Hiking and Outdoor Activities Community

London, 17

London International Hiking and Outdoor Activities Community
This groups is to bring hiking enthusiasts together for glorious days in the beautiful British countryside, usually within easy reach of London. Like a lot of people who live in London, we are bunch of international people and would like to welcome any hiking enthusiast from any national, cultural, ethnic, religious, sexual orientation background to our group. We have plenty of experience in guiding walks in the countryside. In addition to common routes, which are available online, we also design our own routes at times. Everybody is welcome but we have one important criteria to set our group apart from others... and that is **to be able to keep an average (18-20 minutes per mile) to brisk (16-17 minutes per mile) pace\* throughout the walk**. Please see below for guidance on pace. There are groups for fast walkers and groups for slow to average walkers. We are neither. This is a group for average to brisk walking people. In addition to this criteria, we expect the usual civil behavior any social group expects such as being kind, considerate, accountable, ability to take responsibility for yourself. This is mainly a hiking group but we are planning to organise other type of activities at times like cycling, kayaking, paddle boarding, rock climbing, camping, cross country skiing. Looking forward to meet you at one of our walks... Eser & Maria. \*Pace... strolling >30 minutes per mile, slow 20-30 minutes per mile, average 18-20 minutes per mile, brisk 16-17 miles per hour, fast <=15 minutes per mile. This criteria may vary during long climbs or on uneven, muddy surfaces. [Want to be healthier? Pick up the pace of your walk.](https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/wellness/want-to-be-healthier-pick-up-the-pace-of-your-walk/2018/08/16/cc144492-a09f-11e8-8e87-c869fe70a721_story.html)

Guildford Friendly Meetup - Friendships, Events & Activities

Guildford, N7

Guildford Friendly Meetup - Friendships, Events & Activities
A group for people based in and around Guildford, UK to enjoy life and make friends! As we emerge from lockdown, events in this group will be very varied and include Walks, trips to Restaurants, Festivals, Theatre, Cinema, Bowling, Pubs, ice skating and trips to London to name a few examples. We are very open to new ideas, this group will be a collaborative effort and led by the interests of members. If you have a suggestion for something fun to do, don't hesitate to get in touch. We really looking forward to seeing you and to the fun events we'll arrange together 😊 we're always on the look out for event organisers, so drop us a line if you want to help! Rules of this group (which you agree to adhere to having joined this group and on attending any events): 1. Please make sure you have a clear photo of yourself on the app so people know who you are and who to look out for. 2. Please respect all members and organisers. We’re all here to make friends and all event hosts are doing so out of kindness, not as a job! So no unrealistic demands on them please, and remember you are fully responsible for yourself at all of our events. 3. Please keep your RSVP up to date, including if you’re on the waiting list, and especially at events where bookings or payments have been made. We understand that unexpected things happen in life and not everything can be planned. However if you do not update your RSVP in time for someone else to take your place multiple times you may be removed from the group. 4. Please do NOT message or DM anyone without their explicit permission to do so, either via meetup or other platforms such as WhatsApp. Furthermore, we know that dating opportunities may arise but this is predominantly a social group and not for dating, and inappropriate messages to other members who have not given consent are not allowed. Breaches of this rule will be reported. Please familiarise yourself with the rules above. If you believe someone is breaking the meet up rules please politely remind them and if required, remove yourself from the situation. If you have a concern: 1. you can speak to the event host. All of our event hosts are always happy to help and will do their best to do so, seeking advice from other event organisers if necessary, or suggesting you follow one of the other options detailed below if the concern is more serious. Please do be mindful that event organisers are also people with their own personal lives and jobs, and are a part of meetup for the same reasons you are! 2. you can report to the meetup app https://help.meetup.com/hc/en-us/categories/360000089471-Policies-and-Community-Guidelines. Meetup have their own policies which you can read and they will be trained to manage these situations. 3. you can report to other relevant authorities. Particularly important for more serious concerns and concerns which may arise outside of meetup events. As you would in the ‘real world’ (which this is!) police matters should be reported to the police, location matters reported to the location etc. Welcome to the group, and hope to see you soon! **How do you pay for this?! Doesn't running a Meetup cost money?!** There is no charge for this group. However, if you appreciate it and would like to contribute towards it's continuation, we encourage you to donate £1 here: [https://www.buymeacoffee.com/GuildfordMeetup](https://www.buymeacoffee.com/GuildfordMeetup)

Life Coaching Workshops - Outdoors or Online

Wokingham, 03

Life Coaching Workshops - Outdoors or Online

An affordable and sociable way to experience the benefits of life coaching... and give yourself a bit of you time!

 - Are you feeling stuck or frustrated with your career and/or with aspects of your wider life?
 - Would you like to understand more about what you need to feel happy, motivated or fulfilled?
 - Do you feel you never have enough time, you keep putting things off, or you're always doing things for others?
 - Do you want to set yourself goals that you actually feel motivated to work on?

I'll be hosting a series of group coaching workshops, some outdoors (while walking!) and some online, to help you tackle some of these challenges.

Each event will focus on a specific topic, (e.g. goal setting, understanding what really matters to you, procrastination, fear, time management... and more). It will include powerful self-reflection exercises and discussion topics, to enable you to leave with achievable actions you feel motivated to work on.

What is coaching?
Coaching is a powerful way to support you to bring positive change to your life and be more you. A coach doesn't give you advice or tell you what to do. Instead they help you to:
- listen to and understand yourself better
- set yourself meaningful goals
- identify and tackle what's getting in your way
- build confidence and motivation to take action

Who am I?
I am a qualified coach, based in Wokingham. I am passionate about helping people get unstuck and find fulfilment in their career and wider life. I am also a big nature lover and advocate of the power of walking - hence why I host some of my group workshops outdoors!
I also work with clients on a 1 to 1 basis, but love working with groups and bringing life coaching to a wider audience.

Surrey Heath Ramblers Meetup Group

Camberley, N7

Surrey Heath Ramblers Meetup Group
What we're about The Surrey Heath Ramblers ( [https://www.surreyheathramblers.org.uk/](https://www.surreyheathramblers.org.uk/) ) is a walking group based in south west Surrey and is part of The Ramblers organisation. Our walks are mainly based around Surrey and North Hampshire where we explore our wonderful countryside. We offer a variety of walks which vary from 3 miles to more strenuous walks up to 15 miles. The walks are led by experienced walks leaders who are insured. There is no charge to come on our walks, and you are welcome to come on up to 3 walks to 'try' us out. If you decide you want to continue walking with us, all we ask is that you join The Ramblers ( [https://www.ramblers.org.uk/become-a-member.aspx](https://www.ramblers.org.uk/become-a-member.aspx) ), which currently costs £36.60 per year (70p a week). Joining The Ramblers brings all the benefits of being part of the UK's largest walking organisation, with discounts available in many outdoor activity shops (e.g. Cotswold Outdoor, Millets, Mountain Warehouse) as well as the option to join other Rambler groups either locally or nationally when on holiday. Your membership fees also contributes to The Ramblers' efforts to promote walking as a healthy pastime, to campaign for access and to fight for maintained access to our rights of way. Not all our members are on Meetup, so there will be more people on walks than are shown on Meetup. For a general idea, we typically get 10-20 people on our walks. Group members who join the group but do not walk with us will be removed.

Having fun doing sports or activities, whilst perhaps making some friends are the main aims of the group - but please see further details below. Please ensure you have a facial photo of yourself when joining so that we can recognise you and welcome you when attending events (note: photos are only visible to members). Hope to see you soon! *Note: New members are generally expected to live within travelling distance of the area defined above. If not, your membership request may be rejected.* If the group is 'full' you will be put on a waiting list and let in to the group when a place become available. More details: * Golf - organised most weekends - usually over 18 holes (but at least once a month over nine). Note: Golf events are largely for intermediate or more advanced golfers (see \*\* below for extra details), and you will need to have played golf before. * Snooker at Lavender Park, Ascot - held up to once a month during the week or at the weekend. Some experience needed for snooker. * Other sports/activities: Table tennis\* is organised occasionally *(\*see below also)*. Other non-team sports, and events to watch sport (including golf, badminton, and racing at Ascot) may also be organised. 'We' can also do basic badminton coaching - if that is of interest contact myself or David. * Please say on your profile which of our regular and occasional activities you are interested in! * ***Note: If you are interested in cycle rides locally, or table tennis in EGHAM please go to:*** [Cycling and Table Tennis for fun and fitness (meetup.com)](https://www.meetup.com/g/cycling-for-fun-and-fitness/settings/basic/) ***. If you are interested in playing bridge locally and online please go to: [https://www.meetup.com/Ascot-Sunningdale-Bridge-Meetup/](https://www.meetup.com/Ascot-Sunningdale-Bridge-Meetup/) .*** There is roughly equal number of men and women in the group, and members are of various ages (mostly from late 20's to about 65). Temporary local residents or visitors to the area from other parts or the country or from overseas are welcome to join if they regularly come to the area or before a visit. If the group is 'full' there may be a delay in accepting you into the group (but this will be done as soon as possible). If you are interested in organising a certain activity please contact Dave. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- \*: Golf details: Events are organised at Courses to suit experienced, intermediate and improver players mainly. Maidenhead Dining and Social

Maidenhead, B9

Maidenhead Dining and Social
A welcoming and friendly group based in the Maidenhead area that aims to bring together like-minded people for fun social occasions including dining out, theatre, live music, boat trips, wine tasting, National Trust and garden visits. Please see a summary of the group rules below: * This is a non-profit group but members are required to pay a one-off subscription fee of £5.00 which is due within one month of joining. This sum will be applied towards the ongoing Meetup subscription. * Members who have not attended or signed up for events after a period of four months from their joining date will be removed.  They can always re-join at a later date if their circumstances change and find that they are able to participate in the group. * RSVPs should always be kept up-to-date, even when only on a waitlist. If a member is no longer able  to attend an event they should ideally provide at least 48 hours’ notice to allow time for anyone on the waitlist to respond. This is especially important for events such as restaurant meals where a specific number has been confirmed with a venue. * Please note that this is purely a social, non profit making group, run by volunteers and is not to be used as a vehicle for commercial activities. * As a social group we are keen to ensure that all events are harmonious and that members treat each other with respect.  Members who cause friction and/or do not adhere to the above requirements will sadly be removed from the group. * Please can members note that by attending events they are representing the group and the image we project to the wider community. Any feedback they provide to the venue, whether directly or through public online reviews, will reflect on the integrity of the group and its reputation. Please show respect to event organisers by raising any grievances or complaints you may have with them directly, as the point of contact for the venue, so they can follow up any concerns in a fair and balanced manner. *This Meetup Group exists for the sole purpose of enabling its members to connect at social events. All the events are organised by volunteers who cannot take any responsibility for any incidents which may occur at these events. All members take part in all activities solely at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety.  In no event will any of the organisers be liable to any party for any direct, indirect, consequential, or other loss, damage or injury arising from attending an event.*
