Beyond the 3 Peaks....

Leamington Spa, P3

Beyond the 3 Peaks....
**We do adventures.  Read on...** The Beyond the 3 Peaks group is for men and women of all ages who like the more challenging walks, scrambling and going 'off piste' across open access land.  ***The purpose of this mixed  group is to train together to undertake a variety of hillwalking  and mountaineering challenges***. **The Group** We are a friendly and sociable group (not a commercial venture) with (usually) a roughly even split between males and females on events. Other principles of our group philosophy and ethos include: * **Novices** are definitely welcome.  Novices (and everyone else) are looked after, supported and never left behind * We **car share** where possible * We are **inclusive** whether that's about race, religion, disability or sexuality * **Training and development is provided**. The purpose of this is to enable people to be do stuff in the hills and mountains and progress in their own area of choice. We have had people who have never navigated learn and be able to complete challenges of their own such as solo long distance walks or mountain challenges * We **leave no trace** in the hills or the huts we use * We expect **everyone to 'muck in'** and do their bit with the group, especially on weekends and cleaning the huts we use before departure We started with the Yorkshire 3 Peaks and National 3 Peaks in 2014 and have come a long way since then.  Completed challenges include the Welsh 3000s, Mourne Seven Sevens and Tour de Trigs. Overseas we have been hillwalking and mountaineering in Ecuador (2023), Corsica (2023), Ireland and Northern Ireland (2023, 2022, 2016), Tour du Mont Blanc (2018), the Alps (2022, 2019) and the Atlas Mountains in Morocco (2016). We are regular visitors to Scotland. Each year we do training weekends, day walks and challenges as well as Scottish Winter Walking, which involves crampons and ice axes (for which training is provided). We discuss and agree as a group what we do each year. **Competence and experience in leading activities** Safety is paramount. Whilst every effort to manage risk is taken, risk in these activities can be reduced to zero (see disclaimer below). The principle Organiser is Phil who is a qualified and experienced Mountain Leader, plus nearing assessment as part of the Winter Mountain Leader scheme. Phil runs the group to Outdoor Industry standards which means: * Adherence to industry ratios in leading activities * Risk assessments before and during all activities * First Aid training renewed every 3 years * Continuous professional development to maintain and improve competence * Provision of information and informed consent on activities * Registration and regulation by the Mountain Training Association and adherence to other National Governing bodies and standards Phil is also a qualified and experienced Fitness Instructor and Certified Adult Teacher. There are other Organisers of events such as daywalks, weekends away and overseas adventures. All are experienced event organisers and events are risk assessed and agreed with Phil. **Costs** Daywalks are free. There is a RSVP fee of £25 (plus £2.18 PayPal fee) for weekends and other events to cover the range of costs associated with running these activities and the group itself. This includes Meetup costs, recce's, group box, group kit, insurance and registrations the etc.  *This is not a business and the group is not run to make a profit.* **Disclaimer** ***Hillwalking, scrambling, Challenge events and other outdoor pursuits are activities with a danger of personal injury or even death.  By participating in this group you are acknowledging and accepting this risk and the personal responsibility for your own actions and involvement in the group*** (adapted from the British Mountaineering Council participation statement). **Other events and activities we've done** \*  Cullin Ridge on Skye (2020) - Guided by Tom Furey Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor \* Spanish Winter Walking (2019)- Guided by Tom Furey Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor \* Mera Peak in Nepal  (2018)- Guided by Tom Furey Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor \*  The Welsh 3000s over 3 days (2015), over 2 days (2016) and in 24 hours (2016, 2017, 2018) \*  Scottish Winter Walking (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022) \*  The Mourne Wall Challenge (2016) and Mourne Seven Sevens (2018, 2023) in Northern Ireland \*  The Tour de Trigs, a 50 mile 24 hour event at the beginning of December (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019) \*  Shropshire Long Mynd, a 50 mile 24 hour event in October (2015, 2016, 2017) \*  Yorkshire 3 Peaks in both directions (2014, 2015, 2019)

FITNESS ADVENTURES MIDLANDS

Knowle, 43

FITNESS ADVENTURES MIDLANDS
Creating great value innovative and bespoke adventures; at home and abroad. FITNESS ADVENTURES MIDLANDS is for those who enjoy the great outdoors; all of our adventures are within the compass of someone with an average level of fitness. But, above all, the Group is for those who embrace fellowship, inclusiveness and fun in the company of like minded people. At FITNESS ADVENTURES MIDLANDS, there will be something for everyone, ranging from country walks, to weekends away, to adventure activities.  Since the Group formed in March 2017, we have canoed, climbed, cycled, hiked, scrambled, run, swum, walked ... and, socialised; of course. We hope the Group is a platform where you can meet others who might encourage you to pursue that elusive personal goal; maybe to achieve something on that 'bucket list' that requires other, like-minded people.  Obviously, the success and longevity of the Group depends upon members embracing the adventures; please become an active member of the Group. Some of our programmes may well be challenging but all should be within reach of those with an average level of fitness; fellowship and fun is at the centre of all we do. The Group is about personal well-being; about being comfortable, healthy and happy; embracing the outdoors.  Whilst fitness may well be a core value, we are absolutely not a Group of fitness fanatics.   Please do not be put off from joining our activities with the 'excuse' you are not fit enough; we hope you will join us, try new activities, visit new places and make new friends. Our goal is to create programmes where you can enhance your wellbeing in a fun and friendly environment.  Our trips will often utilise either expert local guides or specialist instructors in their field; when travelling abroad, this will allow us to explore with local people gaining an insight into the customs, culture and traditions of that country, visiting places 'off the beaten track' and away from the more usual attractions. FITNESS ADVENTURES MIDLANDS is, above all, about fellowship and fun, exploring new places and enhancing personal well-being.  We look forward to welcoming you to our Group. **TERMS AND DISCLAIMER** In becoming a member of Fitness Adventures Midlands (“the Group”), you agree and acknowledge that the Group, the Group organiser(s) or any host of the Group’s events or activities (be they other members of the Group or guest hosts), either individually or collectively, do not have a legal duty of care to Group members and/or guests of the Group and that the Group organiser(s), including event hosts accept no liability for any accident howsoever caused occurring from, or for any injuries or loss arising out of, participation in any organised events or Group activities, including any travel to and from events. The purpose of the Group is to arrange social activities for the members of Fitness Adventures Midlands (“the Group”).  Members of the Group and any guests participate in events entirely at their own risk.  It is not the responsibility of the Group's organising team or event hosts to check the suitability of individuals to take part in any event; it is the specific and sole responsibility of the individual participating in any Group event to ensure that they are in a fit medical state to do so.  Further, it is not the responsibility of the Group’s organiser(s) or event hosts for the actions of any individual Group member or their/any guest. Group members are expected to be respectful towards others, be they Group members or members of the public and to property.  Any behaviour, physical or verbal, thought to be inappropriate, abusive, threatening or offensive in any way will not be tolerated.  The Group organiser(s) reserve the right to exclude any Group member and/or any guest where behaviour is deemed to be unacceptable; the Group organiser(s) decision will be final and binding; no discussion or correspondence will be entered into. It is a condition of joining the Group that you acknowledge that the Group organiser(s) including event hosts of any Group activities do not necessarily hold any professional qualifications and that they may not have attended any formal training in relation to any of the events organised by the Group.  The organising team and event hosts merely volunteer to organise and host events; the organising team of any event and any event hosts thereof accept no liability for any accident, injury or loss howsoever arising. Friendly Faces of Warwickshire

Leamington Spa, P3

Friendly Faces of Warwickshire
Are you aged between 25 and 50 and any of the following?.. \- Looking to meet more people / make new friends; \- New to the area; \- Recently become single; \- Wanting more fun activities in your diary to look forward to; \- Haven't got your social life back to how it was before lockdown; \- Noticing your existing friends all settling down; ....or are you just plain bored / looking for sociable activities to get involved in... Then why not take a bold (but easy) step towards doing something about it, and attend one of the many social events with members of the super-sociable group, the **Friendly Faces of Warwickshire**. We enjoy a variety of scheduled events in Leamington, Warwick and the surrounding area, where new and regular members meet as a group to network and partake in sociable / enjoyable activities. The events to choose from usually take place at the weekend, and can include countryside walks and hikes, gathering in bars, coffee shops or restaurants, going to indoor / outdoor cinemas, pool halls, festivals, tribute bands, stage shows… the list goes on. There is no financial commitment because our events are **free to attend** and you can add yourself to whichever ones you like the look of. At each of these events, you’ll meet the members - potential new friends from all walks of life and just like you in wanting to improve their social lives. They will make you feel very welcome as another valued contributor to what makes our events into special occasions to remember for all involved. It's normal to feel a little bit of apprehension about your first meeting, which is something we all have to go through, but after you've broken the ice for the first time, you’ll wonder what all the fuss was about and be eager to put your name down for another event! If you keep attending, you'll recognise people you met at past events and start to grow commonalities and friendships with the people you like. Attending a FFW event by yourself is perfectly fine and it's what many people do. The attendees at events are never the same, and each event consists of a combination of first-timers, seasoned members and everything in between, so there will be other new attendees just like you, and like-minded whatever your situation. We're all like you and looking for opportunities to be sociable, and genuinely hope that you decide to get involved. When you do, we will look forward to meeting you. Months from now you’ll look back on this moment that you took action with a smile, and be really glad you did! It wont cost you anything to join, and there is no commitment to stay on if you attend an event and then decide its not for you. So ask yourself out loud: "What have I got to lose?" And then hit that join button. 😊 Current Events Schedule: \- Saturday October 26th : Leamington Brunch/Coffee/Chat ☕ \- Saturday October 26th : Leamington Halloween Fancy\-Dress Social 🎃 \- Sunday November 17th : \*\* Placeholder for a 7\-mile hike \*\* TBD \- Sunday November 24th : Kenilworth Parks and the Castle \(6/7\-mile loop hike\) 🚶 \- Thursday November 28th : Warwick Victorian Evening & Festival \- Friday November 29th : Leamington Pizza and Social 🍕 \- Friday December 6th : Warwick Town Centre Social "Flash Mob" \- Sunday December 8th : \*\* Placeholder for a 7\-mile hike \*\* TBD \- Saturday December 14th : Leamington All\-Skills Pool and Social \- Sunday December 15th : Leamington Santas Hike for Charity \(7\-mile hike\) 🚶 \- Friday December 20th : Leamington Christmas Jumpers Drinks and Social \- Thursday December 26th : Boxing Day walk through the parks \(2\-to\-3\-mile stroll\) 🚶

Greater Social Life Union of Coventry

Coventry, 43

Greater Social Life Union of Coventry

The Thumoslang Network is an association of groups whose members use Thumoslang, the nomenclature for social clarity, as their basic strategy for greater social life. Part of the network is the Greater Social Life Union (GSLU). Its mission is long-lasting joy for its members through faster actualization of their personal ideals.

There are many steps on your journey to greater social life. Here are the first steps for members of GSLU. After reading the rest of this introduction, you should read the 2021 book The Guide to Thumoslang. Many of our members put this new knowledge into practice as suggested by The GSLU Handbook.

When you spend more time in damage control mode and less time benefiting from your various relations, you waste a great deal of effort in your social life. Such a cost of opportunity keeps you from going at high speed towards your ideals, in creating your ideal self, and in actualizing what you truly want to become. This is likely due to a lack of social clarity, which is essential for internal conversations and vital for meaningful relationships.

Unintentionally created in 2017, accidentally discovered in 2018, and first taught in 2019, Thumoslang is the nomenclature for social clarity. It is used as a language for faster communication, be it in complex collaboration or difficult conversation. The first widespread use of social clarity has been predicted by Thumoslang pioneers to be just as important as the first widespread control of fire. All is explained by The Guide to Thumoslang, which is backed by The Dictionary of Thumoslang.

Again, the Thumoslang Network is an association of groups whose members use Thumoslang, the nomenclature for social clarity, as their basic strategy for greater social life. Part of the network is the Greater Social Life Union (GSLU). Its mission is long-lasting joy for its members through faster actualization of their personal ideals.

Your ideals are the same as your ideal self, which means what you truly want to become. "Everything else is secondary," said Steve Jobs. Our group activities involve you with the first practical steps in the further development of your ideals, in keeping others from interfering with your life, and in building a group of in-person friends who keep on encouraging you and nurturing your ideals. To be sure, if you lack social clarity in your internal conversations, face unwanted drama too often, are not sure of your social life or your path into the future, or have no friends and no groups available on a regular basis to help create your ideal self, this group is for you.

*** MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS ***

Our group activities bring you the following benefits:

Benefit 1 - Mastery of Relationships

As new GSLU members participate in the union's activities, they will quickly find themselves having noticeable enhancements in their social lives. The further they participate in GSLU activities, the faster they naturally acquire the mastery of relationships.

Benefit 2 - Best Friends for Your Ideals

Our group activities include practical steps in building a group of in-person friends who keep on encouraging you and nurturing your ideals.

Benefit 3 - Internal Dialogues More Effective

Thumoslang is a set of terminology whose use is intended to benefit one's clarity in social situations. Consequently, Thumoslang allows you to have clearer communication with yourself in your mind.

Benefit 4 - Meaningful Relationships Much Stronger

Our members use Thumoslang to mend or strengthen their existing relationships, build new relations, and achieve greater social life.

Benefit 5 - Faster Actualization of Your Ideals

The actualization of your ideals goes faster when it regularly involves your best group, which is the small group of in-person, second-mind friends who are the best for the nurturing of your ideals. Our activities help you speed up the actualization of your ideals by reducing social roadblocks and increasing social shortcuts in your life.
