HyperActiv in Yorkshire

Woodlesford, 45

HyperActiv in Yorkshire
If, like me, you are full of get up and go, and dislike staying home watching telly, join this group for fitness walks, discos, drinks, eating out, cultural events, movie nights and general shenanigans with a happy-go-lucky crowd. I expect the activities in this group to appeal to men and women aged 35 to 65 but there are no age restrictions per se. No membership fees but each event will incur a £1 charge for attendance to cover MeetUp costs. Any additional fees (entrance fees, eating out etc) will of course be in addition. I welcome any suggestions for events; and if you would like to host something yourself, just drop me a message! **Just a note on health and safety**, you are responsible for yourself and the group / hosts takes no responsibility in that department. Please also, if you feel poorly in any way, do not attend events and update your RSVP. No-one here likes to go home after a MeetUp event feeling like they have caught a cough, cold or covid, so please be mindful of others :) I do not tolerate no shows! If you are in any way flaky, please do not join or sign up for an event to begin with. If you cannot attend, please update your RSVP as soon as possible, and if you are going to be late, let me know! It is only common courtesy and takes only a second to keep your RSVP up to date and add an event to the calendar on your phone :) Make no mistake, I will delete you! Please participate in the chat and real life events as much as you can - be active, be kind, be positive. Thanks! See you out and about in the real world, living your best life!

York Over 30's Socialites

York, J7

York Over 30's Socialites

Welcome Socialites!! This group is for anyone over 30* who wants to join a friendly and inclusive community to make the most of what the city has to offer, for fun days and nights in and around town. The aim is to have events to suit all tastes: nights out at bars, restaurants, live music and cinema; by day, drinking coffee, or visiting local attractions. Or anything else you fancy! The Group was started in April 2015 and is now a well-established group, with over 100 events and 800 member attendances in the first year. New members regularly tell us that they were recommended to join by existing happy members, which is great to hear! So go on.....what's stopping you?

*I've been asked by a number of prospective members to give more of a guide to the age range of the group. Most members are between mid-30's and mid-50's, so prospective members might be more comfortable if they are in that approximate ball-park.....but no birth certificates are checked!!

We have a team of Event Organisers but once you've been an active member for a few months,  if you fancy joining the team and put on events yourself, just let us know! We also actively manage the group's membership to promote an active and enthusiastic group, further details available here:https://www.meetup.com/York-Over-30s-Socialites/pages/20761201/Membership_and_%27No-shows%27

York 20s Social Group

York, J7

York 20s Social Group

Hello everyone!

A Meetup group for young people in York. Are you in or around your twenties? Perhaps you've moved here for work, perhaps you've always been here but your friends have moved elsewhere? Or have you recently graduated and you're just not sure what to do with yourself?

The first step is joining the meetup. All of our events will be posted on the meetup site, so make sure you are a member there and you can see the full range of our events available. Which leads us nicely to...

...The second step! Deciding which of our awesome events you would like to attend!

The third and hardest step is turning up to that first event, but don't worry we have all been there! I promise you all the regulars are just as nervous and excited to meet you as you are them! If you are nervous then feel free to join our facebook group:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/York20sSocial/

On there you can write a message to say hello to our members, or you can simply just have a look and see if you are mutual friends with anyone in the group.

As an organizer group we love newbies, and the best events are always the ones with lots of new faces. If you are nervous about your first event then feel free to post on the event or direct message an organizer and we will do everything we can to help you make the most of the meetup.

We are an active group that thrives on participation, our events are only as fun as you make them! If there is an event or meetup you would like to host then speak to an organizer at one of our regular events and they will happily assist you.

As an organizer group we are committed to providing fun and friendly events for all our members and enabling everyone to feel safe and secure in all of our activities. If you have any concerns about attending any events please email us. We have a zero tolerance policy towards inappropriate behaviour, if at any our events you are made to feel uncomfortable or at risk by another member or if you have received unwarranted direct messages from anyone, please contact us and we will deal with the matter conscientiously and confidentially.

Free Meditation & Yoga York

York, J7

Free Meditation & Yoga York
**York hosts Free Sahaja Yoga Music, Dance & Meditation workshop - All welcome** So join us on Wednesday May 1st 2024 @ 6:30pm to learn how to do it and get connected! Venue: Quaker Meeting House, Friargate, York, Y01 9RL # **Regular Meetings currently are also held in Leeds & Sheffield** With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we normally sit on chairs to achieve yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats and no special clothing required. We are all volunteers of a Charity organisation and have many years of experience in offering free Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes. The classes are designed to help those attending get into a genuine meditative state, which can be felt tangibly. It is quite effortless and spontaneous. The free classes feature introductory talks, video's, practical workshops and general question and answer opportunities, making them perfect for seekers trying to establish a state of yoga, and they are available across London most evenings and throughout the UK. The idea is that you don't do yoga - you Achieve Yoga! Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple, time-honored technique. It helps those who enjoy it, reduce stress and increase wellness. It brings better focus and helps people become more centered and better balanced. Anyone can do it. Founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a world wide movement for peace and self awakening. All the meetings and classes are free of any charge. Each week we go through simple meditation techniques, often with guided meditations to help reduce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation. We share tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and balancing the subtle body. The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with no mental activity or thoughts about the past or the future. Occasionally there are 1 day retreats to help those interested, deepen their individual experience and hear advice and tips from those who have been practicing for some time. It’s ultimately all about getting into ‘thoughtless awareness’, a natural state of being.
