Herts outdoors

This is an initiative for happier and healthier people.

We were walking, hiking and spending time outdoors as part of various meetup groups. We were acutely aware of how being outdoors makes one feel calmer, at peace and also bestows a sense of achievement. As a person, when you experience something so enriching, you want to pass it on to your others too.

The crispness of the air, the clarity of the water, the vastness of the space, the sheer beauty of the landscape - we wanted these to be part of our life. We knew with personal experience that being with nature will aid them to find a joy within - a precious life skill that will help make their lives happier in the long run.

If you are a parent, professional, or individual, and are looking to rekindle yourself with nature and have great fun whilst at it, then you have come to the right place.

If you are already an outdoor-focused person, brimming with ideas of things to do outdoors and would love to pass the bug on to others, you have come to the right place. We are always looking for people like you to join the team.

If you are an outdoor professional in any outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, sailing, kayaking, biking, etc. and think, your values and mission resonates with ours, and would like to team up with us in creating more outdoor opportunities, then if you have come to the right place.

We:

- organise fun, outdoor days out, and wild weekends away with or without family

- encourage and provide support to our members to arrange similar meetups in their area

- Support outdoor professionals around the UK and why not abroad.

Chiltern Explorers - Hikes, Walking Weekends, Socials

High Wycombe, B9

Chiltern Explorers - Hikes, Walking Weekends, Socials

Welcome to Chiltern Explorers a walking social group aiming to do a wide range of guided walks across the Chilterns and further afield exploring other fantastic British countryside.

Most of our walks start at a convenient tube or railway station and aim to get the best deals on any group save tickets for trains and try when possible to look for free car parking giving you as many travel options as possible.

All our walks are well researched, leaving you free to relax and enjoy the lovely scenery or urban views in the company of other like-minded individuals and of course you will be keeping fit. Most walks end with a well-deserved pub stop with a strong social ethos.

The walks are very varied with a relaxed feel, mainly around ten miles and at the weekend but some short walks from seven miles to longer faster paced walks of up to 20 miles and some mid-week walks. We are enthusiastic about photography and encourage sightseeing.

We are twined with a more city urban walking group London Explorers and often do events together. Chiltern explorers is based to the west of London in the gorgeous Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and also does a wide range of weekends away to other UK National Parks and other AONBs.

Chiltern Explorers is unusual for many outdoor meetup groups in that it currently only arranges the walks and leaves the accommodation up to the members giving members the option to go on the days they want and stay according to their budget, many members also car share for trips away. The weekends have a good social atmosphere and comradery.

The country walks have covered the Chiltern and Surrey hills, the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head and the Lake District amongst many others.

IN LIGHT OF THE CURRENT WORLD HEALTH CRISIS I AM HOSTING SOME LIVE VIDEO EVENTS ON LONDON EXPLORERS & CHILTERN EXPLORERS MEETUP GROUPS.

I hope you decide to join us!

Free Meditation & Yoga Buckinghamshire

High Wycombe, B9

Free Meditation & Yoga Buckinghamshire
This community group was started in High Wycombe to invite all those who might be interested in learning to meditate and for those who actually want to achieve Yoga.  Currently the nearest meetings are in Ealing, @ Ealing Town Hall or online every Tuesday @ 7:00pm Many are curious as to what meditation or yoga actually is and what's it all about? The meetings aim to provide that insight and know how. The charity offers free bespoke classes that are designed to help those attending get into a genuine meditative state, which can be felt tangibly. It is quite effortless and spontaneous. The free classes feature introductory talks, video's, practical workshops and general question and answer opportunities, making them perfect for seekers trying to establish a state of yoga, and they are available across London most evenings and throughout the UK. Sahaja Yoga free meditation classes help attendees to achieve a deep state of peace and spiritual awareness in life. Try Sahaja Yoga meditation classes and see for yourself the improvement to your mental, physical and emotional state. Learn and experience…- Simple meditation techniques. Guided meditations to help reduce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation. Tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and balancing the subtle body. The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with no mental activity or thoughts about the past or the future. Occasionally there are 1 day retreats to help those interested, deepen their individual experience and hear advice and tips from those who have been practicing for some time. It’s ultimately all about getting into ‘thoughtless awareness’, a natural state of being.

The Crone's Hearth

Amersham, B9

The Crone's Hearth
The membership of the Crone's Hearth is at full capacity at the moment - with a waiting list of those wanting to join. I am sorry for any disappointment caused but our participant maximum is 25 and our events are now getting fully booked weeks in advance. Obviously, if that situation changes, we will welcome new members again. We now automatically lapse members who have not attended a meeting for 6 months in order to create space for those already on the waiting list. If you would like to follow us, we have a face book page of the same name where we post on a fairly regular basis. The Crone's Hearth is a warm and friendly group who meets eight times a year to celebrate the cycle of the seasons. At our meetings we explore the meaning, traditions and activities associated with each of the major festivals of the pagan year. We aim to provide an overview of our ethics, beliefs and practices to those who feel drawn to a Wiccan or old craft spiritual path and want to learn more. We also want to create an opportunity for solitary practitioners in the area to meet others of a like mind in order to exchange knowledge and experiences.  While we are a public group and welcome newcomers, we do ask that members exercise discretion and respect that other members of the group may wish to keep their involvement in the Craft private.  We are all on first name terms at the gatherings, but it is up to the individual to decide whether they wish to use their full name.   This is why we **do not** allow members of the media or academia to attend our meetings in a professional capacity or to permit anyone to take photographs, screenshots or reproduce the information shared without express permission,
