RfR - Manchester, UK (Active)

Manchester, 18

RfR - Manchester, UK (Active)
NOTE: *This local group is back! Previously it was located in North Yorkshire Moors, it's now been moved to Manchester.* **What Recovering from Religion is about:** Doubt your beliefs? Have questions about changing or leaving your faith? You are not alone, and we are here to help each other through this journey. Learning how to live after questions, doubts, and changing beliefs is a journey. We at Recovering from Religion are intimately familiar with this path and are here to help you to cross that bridge. Our mission is connecting others with support, resources, community, and most of all, hope. The primary focus of a Recovering From Religion support group is to provide ongoing and personal support to individuals as they let go of their religious beliefs. This transitional period is an ongoing process that can result in a range of emotions, as well as a ripple effect of consequences throughout an individual’s life. As such the support meetings are safe and anonymous places to express these doubts, fears, and experiences without biased feedback or proselytizing. RfR has an immense collection of well-curated resources available as you go through your journey. The page includes resources for mental and physical crises, working with relationships, for issues stemming from specific religions, coming out stories, and much more. Head to www.recoveringfromreligion.org/resources for these helpful resources. If you find you need to talk with someone before the meeting date, RfR has a hotline and online chat for that express purpose. Call (844) 368-2848 to speak with someone or go to www.recoveringfromreligion.org to chat online. If you’re seeking professional help, we can offer the Secular Therapy Project to provide options to connect with a professional therapist. All therapists have been thoroughly vetted by our organization and offer only evidence-based and non-religious treatment. Connect with them at www.seculartherapy.org.

The Hale and Altrincham Women's Social Meetup Group

Altrincham, C5

The Hale and Altrincham Women's Social Meetup Group
This group is for women who are looking for new friendships living in the Altrincham, Hale and surrounding areas such as Bowdon, Timperley, Sale, Knutsford, Warrington etc. Generally our members are 50+ but young at heart. The group is about making new friends - our regular monthly meeting provides a chance for members to meet each other and we organise a variety of activities such as cinema trips, shopping, dinner, theatre nights, coffee and chats, or walks. Any member can 'champion' an activity or suggest a Meet Up and all ideas are welcomed. The emphasis is on local activities that are ideally free or accessible to all but if you've got an idea feel free to suggest it.  You can message the organisers and one of them will set up the event.  Please note that if none of the organisers wish to attend you may have to host the event yourself on the day. Now the boring stuff - We do charge a small fee of £5.00 per year to belong to our group which covers the costs of belonging to the Meet Up website and shows that you are committed to membership - but you are welcome to join for a while and see if you like us first. Please note that you must add a photo of yourself (not the cat!!) when applying to join. In order to keep our membership manageable if you do not attend a meetup event within 4 months of joining your membership will be cancelled. We also operate a three no shows and you are out rule as most other groups. We look forward to meeting you! Brenda (Organiser)

Mental Health Support Group (Merseyside & North West)
**NEW ORGANISER -** **If you want this group to be active, please support me - drop a comment or a HI in the discussion / message me - I've paid to keep the group open - need to hear from you.** I'm happy to run some free mental health Zoom and maybe face-to-face sessions. If people are supportive / get involved, I'll organise more activities too. Hi all I'm Glen. I've just taken over the group as organiser, to stop it from closing. I'm planning to arrange some zoom meets, and maybe combine some events from my other group (Saturday evening meals, Sunday walks maybe) with this one. Please message / add comments and ideas in the discussion page, or contact me directly. I am a qualified clinical hypnotherapist and RTT therapist, and work with clients to get fast results (most - even major - issues resolved within 30 days) Previous Organiser's message: Ok so I've decided to change this group into something I am more interested in doing with it. this group will be for anybody who is struggling with their mental health and feelings of anxiety, depression, loneliness, panic attacks and many other conditions! This group is hopefully gonna be a group that can get together and discuss our thoughts and difficulties we are experiencing and support each other through them, hopefully making friends In the process! Meetup places and ideas will probably be random like coffee events, Meals, walks or whatever we fancy doing and think is a good space to do it in, cheers guys :)
