Adventures with Rick

Adventures with Rick
Welcome to Adventures with Rick! We are a group of friendly, inclusive, fun loving sociable types who enjoy getting out and about doing a variety of activities in the company of both old and new friends alike. Games and picnics around a firepit on the beach, cycling, sailing, lunches, dinners, bowling, live music and entertainment events, football golf, pitch and putt and maybe whatever else you might like to suggest...? If you have any ideas about something different that you might like to do, please tell us. We may not have thought of it yet and it might be something we could all enjoy doing together! The founding members are from far flung parts of Cornwall and so events are not limited to one specific area. Our leader Rick, has been a well loved member of several different Meetup groups for many years and is well versed in what’s needed to run a successful group. He’s an upbeat, happy, warm, friendly and sociable character who has the ability to make everybody feel instantly welcome and comfortable. The existing members also look forward to welcoming you, so do come along. We are sure you will be glad you did! In the past we have requested a contribution of £1 per event from all attending members to go towards the costs of running the Meetup page.  There have been many contributions since the start up of the group and we are proud and happy to be able to report that we have made a sizeable donation to Cornwall Air Ambulance during this time.  But going forwards, because there is still so much money in the kitty from past contributions, Rick has decided to give back to the group and make it free to everybody for as long as the funds cover expenses.  We foresee this to be for years to come!  So please come and enjoy all events free of charge! We have just a couple of requests;- \* That you please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to make it to an event you've signed up for. \* That you please not attend if you or anybody in your household has shown symptoms of Covid-19 or has tested positive in the last 10 days. We look forward to meeting up with you soon. May there be many more fun times ahead! Janelle (Co-organiser).

Moochin😊around Cornwall and beyond...

Moochin😊around Cornwall and beyond...
This is a social activity group aimed at having some laughs, meeting up with friends both old and new, whilst enjoying the fabulous Cornish landscape! We are a friendly, welcoming, inclusive group for adults of all ages. With most of the activities: events; dining (including picnics and moonlight feasts); or cultural, based around walks of different lengths and types. So you must be fit enough to walk, but we do so at a relaxed pace and are very laid back. Walks and events are planned for all over Cornwall and beyond, for various days of the week and at different times of day. Some are only for a couple of hours, most are half a day with some a full day, with a swim, meal or gig along the way. Oh and each month we plan a ‘Mystery Day Mooch Around’ with a couple of challenges, a few surprises and a social event to round the day off. The Meetup organisation charges every group a subscription to belong to their website, so there is a contribution fee of £2 per event from all attending members to go towards the costs of running this Meetup page. However, you can pay £6 for 6 months and can attend (within reason), as many of the events organised, without paying any further attendance fees during this time. There will be at least 6 events a month across a broad spectrum of interests. You will be expected to pay for those events where there will be additional costs such as meals, gig tickets, admission charges, hospitality, bus/train fares, car parking and public toilet charges
As a group it is important that every member deserves to be treated with respect and kindness. Any inconsiderate behaviour within the group will not be tolerated and dealt with swiftly. Group sizes for a walk or event are kept to a manageable size, up to 15 at any one time and some are repeated on a regular basis. Due to issues in the past, for those unable to attend a Meetup they have signed up for, it is important to remove yourself off the list as soon as possible, so others can take your place. We are all responsible for our own health and safety when attending events, especially if you bring your pet on a walk. The organisers are hosting walks and social events for members and do not hold any qualifications or liability insurance. It is advisable to always bring good walking footwear and weather appropriate clothing, as some of the paths can get muddy and slippery even in our Summer! Look forward to seeing you😊

Travel Addicts

Coads Green, C6

Travel Addicts

This group is about sharing our travel stories, tips and experiences. Welcome to group travel savings!

As we become acquainted, we make travel plans. You are welcome wherever you live. Membership is free.

Whether you are single or a couple, it's more fun to travel in a group and with people you know! All ages are welcome. We meet regularly and ask for suggestions of destinations group members would like to visit.

The Trips

If you like touring, cruising, adventure, sightseeing holidays, city breaks and activity holidays then this group is for you. You can even be the pilot flying a Boeing 737 Jet in a state-of-the-art simulator on our very popular ‘pilots wanted days’.

It's not just overseas travel. We'll also have days out and weekends in the UK. By traveling together we can access extra group savings to make it more affordable. As a group we can negotiate deals for our members.

Basic Rules

We are a MeetUp group, so please ensure you are familiar with MeetUp's community guidelines - appropriate standards of behaviour are expected both on and offline are expected.

How Travel Addicts works

1.  RSVP to a trip on the MeetUp you like that someone else has chosen and the organiser will be in touch to discuss.  You can also find your own trip with ANY tour operator and we can turn it into a MeetUp. In most cases we can get you a better price if you book the trip through our agency than booking direct.

2. I’ll get in touch to discuss your booking and take a deposit

3. If you are travelling solo, we’ll match you with a room-mate of the same gender or you can choose to pay the single supplement where available. Some tours have zero single supplements and a few of the more adventurous trips may not have a single room option. If we can't match you with someone then sometimes a single supplement may be the only option for a trip.

Is my money safe?

All trips we organise are through a financially protected travel agency. If you book anything with us, you pay the travel agency, not into a personal bank account. You will get an individual receipt and written confirmation of the arrangements from the bonded tour operator. If flights are included, you will get an ATOL certificate. Payments are welcome by bank transfer, credit or debit card. We'll always name the operator and your price will never be more than if you had booked directly with them yourself. It is more likely to be less with our group buying power.

If you are thinking of making an individual booking direct with any adventure or touring company, call us first for the best price. e.g. CostSaver, Explore, Intrepid, G Adventures, Trek America, Cosmos, Travelsphere, Titan, Riviera Travel, Trafalgar, Insight Vacations, Contiki and many more.

Quiet Meet Ups in Cornwall: Flourish as Your True Quiet Self

Redruth, C6

Quiet Meet Ups in Cornwall: Flourish as Your True Quiet Self
**If you consider yourself introverted, sensitive or shy, then we're your people.** Our Meet Ups across Cornwall gently connect quieteers like us in a safe, relaxing space where it's okay to talk and it's okay to be quiet too.   We can't wait to welcome you. **Why we're (quietly) meeting up** We know what it’s like. Meeting new people and going to new places as an introverted, shy or sensitive person can feel daunting. So often it feels like we need to try and push ourselves to match the louder, chattier people in the room to be able to form connections and let our voices be heard. But it shouldn’t have to be that way. We believe that there should be [more inclusion, fairness and equal opportunities](https://quietconnections.co.uk/blog/quiet-voices-matter/) in society for quiet people like us - and our regular Meet Ups are one of the ways that we’re advocating for this change. We’ve created these safe spaces across Cornwall to help you connect with likeminded quiet people, feel more confident and flourish as your true quiet self. Here, your quietness is not only accepted
it’s celebrated. **What to expect from the Meet Ups** **A relaxed, welcoming environment** We’ve carefully chosen our Meet Ups spaces so that they’re calm, cosy and comfortable and we tend to keep our groups small. We have casual, optional activities for you to participate in if you wish. And tea, coffee and biscuits are a given!    **It’s okay to talk and it’s okay to be quiet too** We understand that you may prefer to ease into conversation gradually, or that some days you might like to sit quietly with a good book whilst simply in the company of others. We welcome both quietude and chatter.   **You can go at your own pace** Our intention is to help you connect with others - but there’s absolutely no pressure to participate or set any big goals. You’re invited to step into the space and contribute when you're ready; or you can sit back and quietly observe if that’s what feels right for you.    **A community of understanding** Our gentle-natured group leaders and the quieteers attending our Meet Ups are likely to share similar feelings and experiences with you. So here you can connect with people who truly get you - and feel part of a supportive, welcoming community.    **A space to be yourself** We encourage stretching your comfort zone and trying new things. But ultimately our Meet Ups are designed to help you simply be with other quiet people in a way that feels authentic to your true, quiet, wonderful self. **Find your nearest Meet Up and join the Quieteers Club at [www.quietconnections.co.uk/meetups](http://quietconnections.co.uk/meetups)**
