Exeter and South Coast 20s - 30s Socials and Adventures
Hey everyone, This is a group for likeminded people in their 20's and 30's, but if that strays a bit, we are not checking. Our values are what is most important (see further below). The area we organise activities within stretches from Exmouth, up to Exeter, and back along the coast to Torbay. Our organisers are located throughout these areas to take advantage of local knowledge and to help build a local presence. Sometimes, we may venture outside our home area however for daytrips further afield! The types of activities we do typically include: walking, cycling, water based, picnics, beach days, and more. It will continually evolve, in part based on seasonal preferences, but also the ideas and input from organisers and others. Sometimes we are spontaneous with activities, organising them at short notice, sometimes we plan a bit ahead for everyone's convenience! We are most active, for now at least, at the weekend. If you want to know more, share your ideas, or even take a more active role in helping to run the group, please reach out to the organisers to make this known! This group will be most successful with as many contributions from everyone as possible! SOCIAL MEDIA We are on Facebook and Instagram to help people find us, who may not be aware of Meetup. Its also a place where we can be a bit more interactive with all members, so do join the groups. Links are here: * [https://www.facebook.com/share/MGhE6V4LVvssi8Au/?mibextid=K3](https://www.facebook.com/share/MGhE6V4LVvssi8Au/?mibextid=K3) * [https://www.instagram.com/exmouthexetermeetupsocial?igsh=NTM](https://www.instagram.com/exmouthexetermeetupsocial?igsh=NTM) OUR VALUES: This platform / group, plus our events staying true to these values, we believe is an AMPLIFIER for enabling people to create meaningful new connections, and perhaps even long term new friendships. * **A**ccessible (public transport is available) * **M**eaningful (help build a community of friends) * **P**eople focused (help people get to know each other) * **L**earning opportunities (enable people to try new things) * **I**nexpensive (zero or low cost focused) * **F**un (give people a reason to smile) * **I**nclusive (offer a range of activities for different interests / locations) * **E**ngaging (promote group wide interactions) * **R**elaxed (create a comfortable and safe place for everyone) **No one should be lonely when there are so many likeminded people out there to spend time with.**

Newton Abbot 20's & 30's Meetup Group

Newton Abbot, D4

Newton Abbot 20's & 30's Meetup Group
This is a group for those in their 20's & 30's based in Newton Abbot and the surrounding area (Bovey Tracey, Teignmouth, Dawlish, Ashburton, Buckfastleigh etc.) to meet new people, enjoy fun activities and experience more of what their area has to offer. Newton Abbot 20's and 30's hosted their first event in 2018 and has since put on events ranging from pub quizzes and walks to drinks events - and even goat yoga... The COVID pandemic saw things slow down for a couple of years, but the group is now looking forward once more, searching for a diverse range of activities to offer and aiming to serve the local community to its fullest potential. The majority of our events are held in and around the Newton Abbot area (including the neighbouring towns mentioned above), but we also look to make use of the wider Teignbridge area, and further afield where possible, to be able to offer new and exciting events. Typical events we host, and might look to put on in the future, include; * Walks * Drinks events * Meals out * Movies / shows * Seasonal events (e.g. Easter parades, Christmas events) * Music festivals / concerts * Something a bit different! You name it - from crazy golf to night pottery, we're willing to give it a go... * And more, we're always up for suggestions... **Group values** Finally, we aim to operate on a set of 'common sense' values that define who we are and the type of experience we want to provide to members; **Kindness & respect** \- It goes without saying\, treat others how you would like to be treated\. The recipe for any successful event is for all involved to feel safe\, respected and comfortable\. We reserve the right to take action against anyone displaying threatening\, harassing or hostile behaviour against others\, in order to ensure a positive & inviting environment for all\. **Openness & inclusion** \- On a similar note\, we want this to be a group serving all the local community\. Everyone should feel welcomed and able to express themselves at our events\. With this being said\, 'family' events are difficult for us to cater for and we would therefore advise that the group is realistically best served for single entities \(or couples\) looking to meet new people and enjoy a good time\. **Honesty & creativity** \- We are always looking to hear the views of our members and their ideas for new and exciting events\. The weirder the better \(well\, within reason\.\.\.\)\. Everyone's contribution makes the group a richer place to be\. By the same card\, we also welcome suggestions regarding what the group doesn't do so well\, or how we could improve\.\.\. Whether you're a Newton native or just arrived here last week and are wondering what's on, we look forward to seeing you soon...

B A G ~ Devon & Beyond
Welcome to BAG (Black & Brown Adventure Group) \~ Devon & Beyond! This is a Hiking and Adventure Group for those who identify has being from a racialised minority aka global majority. Back in 2012 whilst living in Cardiff, I decided to take up hiking. I moved to Devon in 2016, so I could continue to hike and reap the benefits of nature in this wonderous part of the UK. I grew up believing that it would be another space that lacked diversity, and I was right. I very rarely ever see black or brown faces hiking and I’m surprised and delighted when I do. I have found while discovering the countryside is that almost everyone is welcoming, and happy to see you there. So it makes it all the more disheartening that some racialised minorities feel that they are not welcome. My many positive experiences whilst adventuring and hiking around Devon and the South West have inspired me to create this group specifically for underrepresented communities like ours, who also want to reap the benefits of Devon and the South West Countryside. Safe spaces are important for marginalised people, to come together free from judgement, unsolicited opinions and prejudice, where we feel supported and respected. Because barriers to accessing rural spaces are just the tip of the iceberg Come Join Us on Our Next Adventure! We embrace inclusivity and diversity alongside all 'minority groups', including LGBTQIA+, all religions, races and etc. We have zero tolerance towards prejudice and discrimination in all its forms. We often focus on having smallish meet ups (predominantly 6 to 16 people) which makes it easier to get to know others within the activity... Repeated no-shows will be subject to our three-strike rule. * Direct messaging to other members is only allowed if you have met that person at an event and have their consent to contact them. We operate on a three-strike rule and any member that gets three strikes will be removed. For serious incidents we reserve the right to remove members immediately. ChangeMakers - Events and Socials for People and Planet

Exeter, D4

ChangeMakers - Events and Socials for People and Planet
We're changing the group slightly to bring you a lot more, and varied, events and activities. This meetup group is now run as ChangeMakers and we're opening it up to other organisations and groups that work in different areas of sustainability. So Green Drinks will post its events here as usual, but you'll start seeing a lot more from other groups too. **Green Drinks Exeter** \- Social Meetups for Nature Lovers Green Drinks is a relaxed and fun social for anyone that loves the environment, nature, or wildlife. We're a very friendly bunch and **the event is hosted, so you will be greeted and introduced to others**, so **please don't worry be put off if you’re coming on your own.** And there’s no need to RSVP (although that does help me, Vipul, identify you) you'll very quickly make new friends and settle in. 😊 **Please note, you don't need to register or be a part of this group - it's open to all.** The main event is an evening social, every third Friday, where you can join fellow lovers of nature and wildlife for a friendly, agenda free, relaxed evening of drinks (food if you like) and free-flowing conversation with new friends. You can pop in any time after 19:00, officially we will end at 22:00 but many of us stay on until 23:00 and some, of the hardier, venture on to another venue afterward. We'd love to meet you and do encourage your friends, family, or colleagues to join us. We have a second event, a Green Drinks Walk, on the fourth weekend of every month – a fabulous way to meet new people and enjoy some of the beautiful sights and sounds of Devon. We try to make these accessible by public transport, for the obvious green reasons, and also not too major a hike so it should be suitable for most people. P.S. Green Drinks is not part of any political Party and, more importantly, there are no actual green drinks
