Please be respectful to hosts and their voluntary time by changing rsvp if you can not attend events to allow others to attend. We have a small team of hosts who arrange and manage all the events. As you can imagine this would not be a successful group without those individuals putting in some time and effort to arrange all the varied events. If there’s something you would like to do that is not listed feel free to discuss it and we would be happy for you to join the hosting team. We look forward to meeting you and sharing in the joy of new experiences Please note this is not a dating site. Over 18s only. Members are responsible for their own safety at all events. Paid events If an advance payment is required through NHBT or organiser/host account, payment remains non refundable as the payment would have been paid to secure the event. Unless someone else moves into the vacant waitlist spot and pays then it is obvious that a refund is not applicable. However, if an event is cancelled by the organiser, host or third party then a full refund will be paid if reimbursed in full by the organising company Please note if you are disrespectful to another member you will be removed from group.

Please be aware that there is an annual subscription of £15 We usually have some larger events each year like our Summer BBQ, Christmas party and NYE party. We are always keen to welcome new people, especially those who like to get involved and that's the reason why the club has remained busy during its successful existence! We like smiley faces and people who like to socialise and have some fun. Please do join with us each Wednesday at 8.30 pm at a pub as advertised in the Meetup listing. Do 'RSVP' so the organiser knows you are coming. We do have a few rules for the club which can be summed up as 'respect'. A full copy can be found here: [https://www.meetup.com/solentsocial/about/](https://www.meetup.com/solentsocial/about/) For GDPR purposes we will only keep records as necessary to meet regulatory and financial requirements. Any Meetup member will only be contacted for invitation to club events only. On leaving the group we will no longer contact you. The club reserves the right to remove persons from the Meetup Group. Any Full Member(s) will have their details removed from our records on notification of intention to leave the club, subject to the requirements detailed above.

Goodwood Culture Kitchen

Goodwood, P6

Goodwood Culture Kitchen

Culture Kitchen is a relaxed, easy going communal outdoor social/cooking event in our garden in Goodwood. We cook over fire pits, ground ovens and gas hobs where we share food, culture, recipes, language and art. This is a space where everybody has something to offer each other - it does not matter if you can't cook, you can come and hang out, draw, play music, do yoga, something else or just help out! You do not need to speak English, we find other ways to communicate! We want to learn new languages, cultures, food, techniques, recipes, songs, art, dance and celebrate difference in Sussex!! Musicians and artists welcome!!

People bring what they can, which makes for a natural way to distribute wealth - those who are able, tend to bring meat, fish, olive oil, drinks, etc. Others bring flour, beans, lentils, veg, etc. We, as the hosts provide a basic staple of oils, spices, veg from our garden, cooking equipment, soft drinks and often a large piece of organic meat to share. But basically anything you can bring that we can pool together and cook with is welcome!!

To give you a flavour, so far we have taught each other and learned many different recipes including Syrian flat breads, Syrian poached chicken with cashew, Syrian Freekeh, Nigerian pounded yam with goat stew, Moroccan round bread, Nigerian bean stew, Nigerian fried beef, Nigerian Egusi (ground melon seed) prawn stew, French ratatouille, homemade pesto, Thai chicken, Polish potato cake, steamed chard and green beans and pine nuts, coconut coleslaw, outdoor apple crumble, chocolate cake cooked in oranges over the fire pit, a range of teas from the garden including mint and fennel, apple and chilly, African Basil and pear, also pressed apple juice from our fruit trees, and much more.

If you want to come and do cooking demo's please get in touch! if you want to share other skills, then also get in touch!

If you want to donate things such as plates, glasses, outdoor furniture, wood to burn on the fire, etc please contact us and we can arrange - we are very grateful for any donations!!!!

It is important to let us know whether you are coming and who with so we have an idea of numbers. This is an event based in our home, so please be very careful to take care of everything and to help us keep it tidy! Please take responsibility for your own safety and wellbeing and that of any children you bring you.
