Greater Social Life Union of Leicester

Leicester, H5

Greater Social Life Union of Leicester

The Thumoslang Network is an association of groups whose members use Thumoslang, the nomenclature for social clarity, as their basic strategy for greater social life. Part of the network is the Greater Social Life Union (GSLU). Its mission is long-lasting joy for its members through faster actualization of their personal ideals.

There are many steps on your journey to greater social life. Here are the first steps for members of GSLU. After reading the rest of this introduction, you should read the 2021 book The Guide to Thumoslang. Many of our members put this new knowledge into practice as suggested by The GSLU Handbook.

When you spend more time in damage control mode and less time benefiting from your various relations, you waste a great deal of effort in your social life. Such a cost of opportunity keeps you from going at high speed towards your ideals, in creating your ideal self, and in actualizing what you truly want to become. This is likely due to a lack of social clarity, which is essential for internal conversations and vital for meaningful relationships.

Unintentionally created in 2017, accidentally discovered in 2018, and first taught in 2019, Thumoslang is the nomenclature for social clarity. It is used as a language for faster communication, be it in complex collaboration or difficult conversation. The first widespread use of social clarity has been predicted by Thumoslang pioneers to be just as important as the first widespread control of fire. All is explained by The Guide to Thumoslang, which is backed by The Dictionary of Thumoslang.

Again, the Thumoslang Network is an association of groups whose members use Thumoslang, the nomenclature for social clarity, as their basic strategy for greater social life. Part of the network is the Greater Social Life Union (GSLU). Its mission is long-lasting joy for its members through faster actualization of their personal ideals.

Your ideals are the same as your ideal self, which means what you truly want to become. "Everything else is secondary," said Steve Jobs. Our group activities involve you with the first practical steps in the further development of your ideals, in keeping others from interfering with your life, and in building a group of in-person friends who keep on encouraging you and nurturing your ideals. To be sure, if you lack social clarity in your internal conversations, face unwanted drama too often, are not sure of your social life or your path into the future, or have no friends and no groups available on a regular basis to help create your ideal self, this group is for you.

*** MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS ***

Our group activities bring you the following benefits:

Benefit 1 - Mastery of Relationships

As new GSLU members participate in the union's activities, they will quickly find themselves having noticeable enhancements in their social lives. The further they participate in GSLU activities, the faster they naturally acquire the mastery of relationships.

Benefit 2 - Best Friends for Your Ideals

Our group activities include practical steps in building a group of in-person friends who keep on encouraging you and nurturing your ideals.

Benefit 3 - Internal Dialogues More Effective

Thumoslang is a set of terminology whose use is intended to benefit one's clarity in social situations. Consequently, Thumoslang allows you to have clearer communication with yourself in your mind.

Benefit 4 - Meaningful Relationships Much Stronger

Our members use Thumoslang to mend or strengthen their existing relationships, build new relations, and achieve greater social life.

Benefit 5 - Faster Actualization of Your Ideals

The actualization of your ideals goes faster when it regularly involves your best group, which is the small group of in-person, second-mind friends who are the best for the nurturing of your ideals. Our activities help you speed up the actualization of your ideals by reducing social roadblocks and increasing social shortcuts in your life.

Fabulous Females 40's +

Enderby, H5

Fabulous Females 40's +
**(Updated 09/08/2023)** ***Introduction...*** This group was set up in May 2018 with the aim of being a relaxed, friendly & fun group for women to connect, generally have a bit of a giggle but most importantly form new friendships. For many of our long-standing members this group has proved life-changing and provided a new lease for life. Take a look at our past events for an idea of the sorts of things we do: walks, meals/drinks out, afternoon tea, Panto, Christmas events, quiz nights, theatre, Sunday roast, outdoor cinema, concerts, Tribute nights; the list goes on and all ideas are always welcome. ***Who the group is for…*** We’re from all walks of life and membership is open to ladies age 40+ ‘years young’ that live in Leicestershire or the surrounding counties. We’re not about having as many members as possible. Our focus is on encouraging and energising fellow members and generally ‘being there’, as generally ‘girls’ do for new found friends. ***How to join...*** We ask please that you satisfy the following criteria before a request to join is approved: * **Answer the profile questions** – this includes a commitment to pay up to £5 annually by bank transfer towards the Meetup costs of running the group (a reminder will be sent out when payment is due). * **Upload a head & shoulders picture of yourself** – this is so members recognise one other at events and can welcome new members. ***IMPORTANT NOTE:* The organisers give their time freely in the interests of the success and existence of this group with no financial gain, so please, always be kind, courteous and respectful to them and all our members. ❤️ Any member, or guest of a member, that’s reported as disregarding the above shall be removed immediately. We are here to build people up not tear them down.** ***Finances...*** For members’ information and for transparency, the subscription payment goes towards: * Meetup subscription costs - we currently subscribe every 6 months and around the time it is due we will send a request for payment to all current members. * Compensating organisers on the rare occasion they’re left out of pocket if there are no-shows to an event/a member fails to pay. (Within reason if/when this happens, the member will be removed from the group if they fail to cover the out-of-pocket cost as a result of non-attendance). * For milestone birthdays for long-standing members, we may sometimes pay for a cake/flowers/ card. * Small gestures of thanks to the regular organisers of events as a sign of appreciation. * Booking fees at some events. * Other small sundry items. Where there’s a cost/deposit for an event please make payment as advised by the organiser in the event information section before the deadline specified OR within 72 hours of making your RSVP. For payments NOT made within these timescales your RSVP will be cancelled by the host and where applicable your place offered to a member on the ‘waiting list’. This is to assist with the smooth running of events and the group. ***RSVP’s to events...*** Please only RSVP ‘yes’ if you’re sure you’re able to make it. We appreciate other commitments and unforeseen events crop up out of the blue, but if a member is frequently a ‘no show’ or changes their RSVP very last minute, then as organisers we reserve the right to cancel that person’s membership & remove them at our discretion. ***Guests/Plus 1’s...*** Members can bring guests to an event if the organiser allows this functionality. A member’s plus 1 can attend 2 events without charge but after that they’ll be asked to either become a paid member themselves (via their group member) or to pay £1.00 per event thereafter to the organiser of the event they’re attending. ***Dietary requirements...*** If you have any specific dietary requirements, to be 100% certain your needs are catered for we advise you to personally contact and the venue so that your needs aren’t accidentally overlooked.

Over 50’s Travel Buddies (Leicestershire)

Birstall, H5

Over 50’s Travel Buddies (Leicestershire)
A non-commercial meetup group for over 50’s (with a passion for travel) looking to find compatible companions to share experiences (& expenses) around the world. The aim is to give members the opportunity to meet, interact and share their travel aspirations with potential companions in a social setting prior to making any travel arrangements (in order to establish shared interests and compatibility). The meetup may organise short trips (abroad or at home, for a few days) open to all on a first come first served basis but the main aim will be to provide a forum to encourage and assist with helping members organising their own longer duration trips abroad where compatibility becomes very important. To be clear from the outset This meetup is non-commercial, so everyone (including the trip instigator/organiser) pays their way in full. No one is getting a free trip or making a profit. Joining the group and attending meetups does not guarantee finding compatible travelling companions and no one would be expected to arrange anything with anyone they don’t feel comfortable with (finding suitable travel buddies will be down to pure luck!) Open honesty is expected between members with regard to any mobility or health issues that may affect travel plans (or any lifestyle choices such as smoking or dietary restrictions etc that may impact on a potential travel companion). Integrity & reliability would be handy too! The organiser(s) of this group accept no liability for any injury or loss resulting from participation in the group activities and anyone attending any event or trip organised directly or indirectly by the group or its members will be expected to have their own suitable personal insurance cover in place.

Free Meditation Yoga Leicester

Free Meditation Yoga Leicester
Hello there! Hello there! We'd like to welcome you to our FREE community based weekly Sahaja Yoga meditation meetings hosted by Ilan and Nigel which take place every Thursday 7:30-9:00 pm at:  **Eastgate Therapies Centre, 19-23 Humberstone Road, Leicester LE1 1SR**  **- Please note building entrance is on Ann Street LE1 1SR** Free parking at front and side of building. We are situated close to the roundabout junction of the Central Ring Road (A594) with the A47, by St. George's Retail Park. Go a short distance towards the city centre along Humberstone Road, past Lidl, taking the first left into Ann Street.  With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we normally sit on chairs to achieve yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats and no special clothing required. We are all volunteers of a Charity organisation and have many years of experience in offering free Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes. The classes are designed to help those attending get into a genuine meditative state, which can be felt tangibly. It is quite effortless and spontaneous. The free classes feature introductory talks, video's, practical workshops and general question and answer opportunities, making them perfect for seekers trying to establish a state of yoga, and they are available across London most evenings and throughout the UK. The idea is that you don't do yoga - you Achieve Yoga! Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple, time-honored technique. It helps those who enjoy it, reduce stress and increase wellness. It brings better focus and helps people become more centered and better balanced. Anyone can do it. Founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a world wide movement for peace and self awakening. All the meetings and classes are free of any charge. Each week we go through simple meditation techniques, often with guided meditations to help reduce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation. We share tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and balancing the subtle body. The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with no mental activity or thoughts about the past or the future. Occasionally there are 1 day retreats to help those interested, deepen their individual experience and hear advice and tips from those who have been practicing for some time. It’s ultimately all about getting into ‘thoughtless awareness’, a natural state of being.
