Aldercar and Langley Friends

Langley Mill, D3

Aldercar and Langley Friends
A.L.F is a small social and activity group primarily for people in Aldercar, Langley Mill and surrounding areas. Our aim? To improve life a little bit at a time without having to go too far. We're not therapy but we're a good second option. 😊 Feeling down, stressed, isolated, ill or recuperating? You are not on your own. Get to know other local people with regular cheap, often free, easy to attend shorter activities in small friendly groups of four to twelve people. Progress your social life locally with a variety of longer events and social occasions all whilst supporting some of our local businesses. You will get out and about, happier, socialising and talking, if only about the rotten weather! *NB. As a volunteer group, we make every effort to ensure you are looked after, safe and welcomed. We endeavour to provide you with information on specific activity requirements i.e. footwear, timings, stops etc where necessary and as best we can in order to support your attendance. Participation in activities is done under your own liability.* *A cover photo is appreciated but not mandatory. Accounts inactive for 12 months are deleted.* **Note to organisers: Events at ALF are group aim specific, as such we have a smaller window of what we can do and take much planning, whilst imitation is the best form of flattery, copying, cutting and pasting is not. Should you wish to copy or 'bounce off' a Aldercar & Langley Event, please have the courtesy to message us first.**

Walking Friends

Nottingham, J9

Walking Friends
A group with regular organised walks geographically designed to lead you around picturesque landscapes and monumental landmarks. Each walk is described in detail and often includes a map of the route, approximate miles and skill level. The leader offers historical knowledge about your guided route. Country and Urban walks, local and not so local, circular, linear. Coach trips are arranged too which are always a day to remember and add to the variety of the walking events. These coach trips offer you the choice to do the organised walk or you can go off and explore the location and join up with the walkers later. UK seaside resorts and cities are among the many favourites destinations. Please wear suitable clothing as the weather can be changeable. Walking boots, waterproof jacket are a must, layers are good as easier to be comfortable. Sunscreen, a change of socks perhaps, water bottle, snacks, a charged phone. By joining the group you are accepting full responsibility for your own health and safety. The group is a non profit organisation and each person is a part of a group of friends. Please don't attend walks if you do not feel fit and well. Each person is totally responsible for their own actions. If that policy doesn't suit then don't join. Each person joins events at their own risk. There are no qualified staff or First Aiders. The group is merely a group of friends who share a common interest in walking and the great outdoors. You must accept that the group, event organisers and hosts are not liable for your safety and wellbeing. Each person attending the events are equal and take responsibility for themselves. If that policy doesn't suit then don't join. Each member is expected to treat the fellow members with respect and kindness and any distress caused to other members could lead to immediate removal from the group. The group is free to join, there is no expectation to pay anything. Members are welcome to contribute voluntarily a couple of pounds a year which will go towards the running costs of the group. This would be greatly appreciated as meetup isn't free. Any surplus funds will be donated to a Wildlife charity of your choice and spent on savoury treats on occasions for you to enjoy. Profile photo - All members are required to have a name and photo on their profile. Profile photo should be a clear photo of yourself without sunglasses or face coverings. We must be able to recognise you from your photo. Enjoy the events and stay safe.

Nottingham & Derby Young Walking Group

Nottingham, J9

Nottingham & Derby Young Walking Group
Are you interested in **walking** and **socialising** with young (20-40s) like-minded people? Well come and join the Nottingham and Derby Walking Group (www.ndwg.org.uk) on a walk. The Nottingham and Derby Walking Group [[NDWG](https://ndwg.org.uk/)] is an active, reliable group which offers walking, weekends away, social activities and conservation tasks. We offer a walk every Sunday of the year plus regular Saturday walks and Wednesday evening walks in the summer. Walks typically range between 6 and 14 miles with a shorter option on a Wednesday evening. In addition we offer at least six walking weekend breaks every year. Locations range from Scotland to Cornwall and everywhere in between. Founded in 1997, NDWG is the original young person’s walking group for **Derbyshire**, **Nottinghamshire** and **Staffordshire**. As part of the Ramblers Association we do not charge people for coming on our walks and anyone is welcome to come and try out a walk. We do however believe that it is important to support the continued existence of the extensive network of free footpaths which we have in the UK. As such we request that following three walks you join the Ramblers Association. Ramblers membership starts at just £36.60 (£25.60 concessionary) per year. By joining the Ramblers Association you will become a full member of NDWG and have access to all group activities including weekends away. \*Note\* On average there are 20 people who attend each of our walks. We use Meetup as a way of promoting our walks, so don’t be alarmed to see only a few attendees in the walk’s guestlist! The majority of our members find our walks through our website [[NDWG Walks](https://ndwg.org.uk/walks/)] For more information visit [The Ramblers](http://www.ramblers.org.uk/get-involved/become-a-member.aspx) or join us on [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/2588466229/). When joining NDWG, visit the Ramblers Association and use group code "Notts Derby Walking Group" listed under the Nottinghamshire area.
