Childfree Women Oxfordshire

Bicester, K2

Childfree Women Oxfordshire
This is a group for women who have chosen not to have children, where you can connect, share experiences and make real friends. It's about celebrating our freedom and the choices we have made whilst respecting the choices of others. Women of all ages are welcome. We meet at least monthly and often several times a month, with the meet-ups planned by different members of the group each time. We organise everything through our WhatsApp group, which is very active, so please don't join if that's not a good fit for you and what you're after at the moment. **Why join us:** You may be new to Oxfordshire... You may have just heard that the last of your core friends is pregnant... You may be finding that your friends are less available or completely preoccupied with their kids. You may be exhausted with justifying to everyone who wants to know why you're not having babies! In this group, you can be yourself, safe in the knowledge that we are childfree and 'get it'. The paths that bring us to childfree are many and varied but we are united by positively embracing it. Please note this is not a platform for bashing parents or to be anti-babies/children. Let's also be respectful of those who may be child-less not through choice. **The WhatsApp Community** Because different members organise different events, all of our chat and organisation takes place on our WhatsApp community (rather than on this Meetup page). We use WhatsApp to get to know each other and share childfree content, and with 100 of us on there so far, it can be pretty active! We currently have 30 subgroups within our community including ones for: * Abingdon, Didcot & Wantage * Banburyshire Ladies * Book club * Cat Appreciation * Climbing/bouldering * Childfree couples * Dog walking * Endometriosis * Events & Meetups * Farm Shops * General childfree chat * Hiking * Horseriding * Ice Skating * Jiu Jitsu * Oxford * Murder mystery * Newbies * Paddleboarding * Salsa * Tabletop gaming * Thirsty Meeples * Unfortunate - The Musical Parody * Weight loss, exercise & nutrition accountability * Wild swimming Of course, you can turn your notifications off and catch up with the chat when you can, but if you're not interested in joining the WhatsApp community and getting involved with us on there, then we're probably not the right fit for you right now. If you'd love to join a friendly and active community, then pop me a message with your name and mobile number and I'll add you to our WhatsApp group. Get involved! Come to events, bring your ideas for what you want to do and contribute to the organisation of events. **RSVP etiquette:** Life can get in the way. Plans can change. We get that. A 'no show' can leave other members in an awkward position at a half empty table and your organiser spending half the night looking out for people who may never come. It's just manners - so please give as much notice as possible if you can no longer attend an event. **Sarah** **Group Organiser**

Friendly Faces of Warwickshire

Leamington Spa, P3

Friendly Faces of Warwickshire
Are you aged between 25 and 50 and any of the following?.. \- Looking to meet more people / make new friends; \- New to the area; \- Recently become single; \- Wanting more fun activities in your diary to look forward to; \- Haven't got your social life back to how it was before lockdown; \- Noticing your existing friends all settling down; ....or are you just plain bored / looking for sociable activities to get involved in... Then why not take a bold (but easy) step towards doing something about it, and attend one of the many social events with members of the super-sociable group, the **Friendly Faces of Warwickshire**. We enjoy a variety of scheduled events in Leamington, Warwick and the surrounding area, where new and regular members meet as a group to network and partake in sociable / enjoyable activities. The events to choose from usually take place at the weekend, and can include countryside walks and hikes, gathering in bars, coffee shops or restaurants, going to indoor / outdoor cinemas, pool halls, festivals, tribute bands, stage shows… the list goes on. There is no financial commitment because our events are **free to attend** and you can add yourself to whichever ones you like the look of. At each of these events, you’ll meet the members - potential new friends from all walks of life and just like you in wanting to improve their social lives. They will make you feel very welcome as another valued contributor to what makes our events into special occasions to remember for all involved. It's normal to feel a little bit of apprehension about your first meeting, which is something we all have to go through, but after you've broken the ice for the first time, you’ll wonder what all the fuss was about and be eager to put your name down for another event! If you keep attending, you'll recognise people you met at past events and start to grow commonalities and friendships with the people you like. Attending a FFW event by yourself is perfectly fine and it's what many people do. The attendees at events are never the same, and each event consists of a combination of first-timers, seasoned members and everything in between, so there will be other new attendees just like you, and like-minded whatever your situation. We're all like you and looking for opportunities to be sociable, and genuinely hope that you decide to get involved. When you do, we will look forward to meeting you. Months from now you’ll look back on this moment that you took action with a smile, and be really glad you did! It wont cost you anything to join, and there is no commitment to stay on if you attend an event and then decide its not for you. So ask yourself out loud: "What have I got to lose?" And then hit that join button. 😊 Current Events Schedule: \- Saturday October 26th : Leamington Brunch/Coffee/Chat ☕ \- Saturday October 26th : Leamington Halloween Fancy\-Dress Social 🎃 \- Sunday November 17th : \*\* Placeholder for a 7\-mile hike \*\* TBD \- Sunday November 24th : Kenilworth Parks and the Castle \(6/7\-mile loop hike\) 🚶 \- Thursday November 28th : Warwick Victorian Evening & Festival \- Friday November 29th : Leamington Pizza and Social 🍕 \- Friday December 6th : Warwick Town Centre Social "Flash Mob" \- Sunday December 8th : \*\* Placeholder for a 7\-mile hike \*\* TBD \- Saturday December 14th : Leamington All\-Skills Pool and Social \- Sunday December 15th : Leamington Santas Hike for Charity \(7\-mile hike\) 🚶 \- Friday December 20th : Leamington Christmas Jumpers Drinks and Social \- Thursday December 26th : Boxing Day walk through the parks \(2\-to\-3\-mile stroll\) 🚶

Free Meditation Yoga - Leamington Spa & Warwick - Wellbeing
This community group was started in Leamington Spa to invite all those who might be interested in learning to meditate and for those who actually want to achieve Yoga. Many are curious as to what meditation or yoga actually is and what's it all about?  The meetings aim to provide that insight and know how. Yoga is a great way to underpin Health & Wellbeing. The charity offers free bespoke classes that are designed to help those attending get into a genuine meditative state, which can be felt tangibly. It is quite effortless and spontaneous. The free classes feature introductory talks, video's, practical workshops and general question and answer opportunities, making them perfect for seekers trying to establish a state of yoga, and they are available across London most evenings and throughout the UK. Sahaja Yoga free meditation classes help attendees to achieve a deep state of peace and spiritual awareness in life. Try Sahaja Yoga meditation classes and see for yourself the improvement to your mental, physical and emotional state. Learn and experience…- Simple meditation techniques. Guided meditations to help reduce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation. Tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and balancing the subtle body. The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with no mental activity or thoughts about the past or the future. Occasionally there are 1 day retreats to help those interested, deepen their individual experience and hear advice and tips from those who have been practicing for some time. It’s ultimately all about getting into ‘thoughtless awareness’, a natural state of being.Through Sahaja Yoga Meditation we all have a way to experience something uniquely blissful inside of us. We provide free tuition and guidance to anyone who is willing to learn and apply techniques of the subtle system: awakening of the kundalini, self realisation, cleaning and balancing chakras. At our meetings everyone can experience the joy of truly deep collective meditation. This is an eternal knowledge for which one cannot pay money. The ultimate goal is to give seekers of truth the knowledge of the self and become their own master through knowing themselves at the deepest level.
