Anyone joining this group to message members they have not met before will be removed. **Members**  Everyone uses their **real name**, first name will do and secondly, please load a **recent clear head and shoulders** recognisable picture of yourself only (i.e. no one else in the photo and no sunglasses please.) on your profile as this helps us recognise each other at events, anyone without a photo of themselves, using a joke photo, unclear photo or photo deemed inappropriate will be removed. **Location** Must live within 25 mile radius of Derby Derbyshire, UK or if further afield at the organisers discretion. **Participation** We aim to make this **active** group filled with members who want to attend Meetups.  Members will be removed if they have not attended a Meetup within 12 months of joining and have not attended 3+ Meetups in the last 2 years. If you have not visited our group on Meetup for over a year you may be removed without notice.  **Age** Must be over 18 years of age at the time of joining **Membership is FREE** \- However\, if a particular Meetup event incurs a charge\, this charge will be passed on to the members attending on a non\-profit basis\. There will be a **fundraising event each year** to raise funds for the group’s subscription fees.  **All money raised from members will be accounted for and placed in an account solely for Derby Sociable’s in my name (Diane Schofield Organiser).  I run this organisation with transparency and trust.** **EVENTS**  Hosts organise and post events for the benefit of the group giving up their own time, so please respect hosts and other members by following the simple rules regarding events below, we just ask that members be courteous please. **RSVP's -** Meetups are open to all members so if you want to attend please **RSVP "YES"** and just turn up. Please doesn’t turn up without RSVP'ing "YES" as there maybe number restrictions plus the host wants to know in advance who will be attending. There is no need to **RSVP** "**NO"** to an event unless you have previously said "**YES"** and need to change to "**NO**". It is courteous and polite to keep your **RSVP's** updated that includes if you are on the waiting list.  Members who repeatedly do not turn up to Meetups they have "**RSVP'd**" to and do not let the host know otherwise (**No Shows**), maybe removed from the group without notice. **NO SHOWS:** 3 'no-shows' and we will remove you from the group (first time this happens you will have chance to re-join, but if it's persistent we may permanently remove you) - sorry about this, but it's something which frustrates both the hosts and the other people coming out to enjoy themselves. Some events may have a wait list and a **no show** could prevent a member from attending. **Gate crashing**: An event with limited numbers and a waiting list, or at the event hosts discretion will be treated in the same way as a no-show and will be reflected in your profile as a no show. Both are disrespectful to hosts and other members. **Banned Member**: Any member that has been removed from Derby Sociable’s and has been added as a guest to an event, which they attend, will be removed from the event. The person, who brought the guest, will also be removed as a member of Derby Sociable’s **Courtesy**: Be respectful but have fun - remember with lots of people you will naturally form friendships with some more than others, but the group is about getting out, meeting new people and being open and sociable with everyone. **EVENT HOSTS** We encourage as many members as possible to be event hosts as we believe it will make a more vibrant group with a wide and diverse mix of events making the group interesting.  If you would like to be a host for Derby Sociable’s please get in touch with Diane Schofield, Organiser for Derby Sociable’s. We request all hosts to be aware of new members on an event and make them feel comfortable and welcome, as we know it can be quite daunting for some people to join an established group of friends. Event Hosts will not be allowed to put on an event, removing them has a host and replacing themselves with just a member **who has not been accepted as an event host by the Organiser.**  If this happens the event will be removed.  Reoccurrence of this will mean the Event host being removed as a Host. **EVENT PAYMENTS** **In general Event Hosts may have an event were there’s a deposit or payment involved.**  **Please remember only the Organiser Diane Schofield can take collection of all members’ payments regarding any event, unless this has been agreed otherwise.** **DISCLAIMERS** Derby Sociables specifically DISCLAIMS LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES and assumes no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage or financial loss suffered by any person as a result of taking part in events or activities organized by event hosts. Derby Sociable’s assumes or undertakes NO LIABILITY for any loss or damage suffered as a result of participation in events or activities. **PARTICIPATE AT YOUR OWN RISK:** Consult a doctor before performing any physical exercise or activities.  It is your responsibility to evaluate your own medical and physical condition and to independently determine whether to perform, use or adapt any of the exercises or activities at our events. Any exercise program may result in injury. By voluntarily undertaking any exercise or activity at our events, you assume the risk of any resulting injury. **Photography**: Photos can be taken at events and shared under the Meetup Group. If this is unacceptable to you, as a member, it is your responsibility to let the event host know you do not wish to appear in photographs and we ask that event hosts respect the request and ensure your request is honoured. **MEMBERSHIP:** Derby Sociable’s  Group Organiser Diane Schofield reserves the right to deny new members membership to Derby Sociable’s or to terminate an existing membership if it is deemed that continued membership will be detrimental to the wellbeing of the group, or that a member's behaviour has caused offence to any other members or member. The Group's Organiser decision will be final. Attendance of events will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions. Updated: 02/01/2024

Free Meditation & Yoga Derbyshire

Chellaston, D3

Free Meditation & Yoga Derbyshire
Hello there! We'd like to welcome you to our **FREE** weekly Sahaja Yoga meditation meetings hosted by Pat & Chellaston team which take place on **Saturdays @ 11.00am at** Chellaston Bowls Club Entrance Lidl Car Park 27-33 Swarkestone Road Chellaston Derby DE73 5UA With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we normally sit on chairs to achieve yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats and no special clothing required. We are all volunteers of a Charity organisation and have many years of experience in offering free Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes. All across the globe, many are seeking new sources of energy. Meanwhile, the most **transformative energy** of all is hiding in plain sight, within us. It's natural, sustainable, and infinitely renewable. It's called inner kundalini energy. And everyone already has it — everyone!. It is often likened to an inner feminine or motherly energy which automatically knows about us and what is needed to help us **restore balance and harmony** within our subtle being. It works spontaneously, effortlessly, organically and cannot be paid for. The classes are designed to help those attending get into a genuine meditative state, which can be felt tangibly. It is **quite effortless and spontaneous**. The free classes feature introductory talks, video's, practical workshops and general question and answer opportunities, making them perfect for seekers trying to establish a **state of yoga**, and they are available across London most evenings and throughout the UK. The idea is that you don't do yoga - you Achieve Yoga! Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple, time-honored technique. It helps those who enjoy it, **reduce stress and increase wellness and health holistically.** It brings better focus and helps people become more centered and better balanced. Anyone can do it. Founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a world wide movement for **peace and self awakening**. All the meetings and classes are free of any charge. Each week we go through **simple meditation techniques**, often with guided meditations to help **re**duce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation. We share tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and **balancing the subtle body**. The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with **no mental activity or thoughts** about the past or the future. Occasionally there are 1 day retreats to help those interested, deepen their individual experience and hear advice and tips from those who have been practicing for some time. It’s ultimately all about getting into ‘thoughtless awareness’, a **natural state** of being.

20s to 40s Midlands Walking Group

Cannock, M9

20s to 40s Midlands Walking Group
Welcome to the Midlands walking group. Are you passionate about the great outdoors, hiking through picturesque landscapes, and connecting with fellow nature lovers? If so, you've come to the right place! Our community is dedicated to fostering connections among individuals who share a deep appreciation for adventure and exploration. While hiking is at the core of our activities, we also offer an array of other exciting adventures and are always open to your suggestions. We're not an exclusive club, and our leaders are not certified mountain guides; we're simply a group of like-minded individuals coming together to embrace the wonders of nature. Our typical hikes span around 10 miles, so it's essential to arrive well-prepared with suitable footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, and enough provisions for the day ahead. Our walks are categorized based on their level of challenge: 1. Easy: These leisurely-paced walks are perfect for newcomers to hill walking. While they're not overly strenuous, you should still be fit enough to cover the distance within the allocated time. Plus, most of these hikes conclude with a well-deserved stop at a local pub! 2. Moderate: If you're physically fit and can maintain a consistent, moderate pace for around 5 hours, you'll enjoy our moderate-level hikes. Expect some tricky or steep sections, muddy slopes, and the like. This category encompasses the majority of our adventures. 3. Challenging: For those in excellent shape, our challenging hikes involve steady pacing for up to 16 miles, steep climbs, and fewer breaks. You may even encounter some thrilling scrambles and mild peril along the way. 4. Experienced Only: These hikes are designed for seasoned mountaineers who relish a formidable challenge. They're not recommended for first-timers, and participants must be in peak physical condition. Please bear in mind that when you join one of our walks or activities, you assume full responsibility for your actions and participate at your own risk. The routes we plan are typically not pre-walked, so patience with our organizers is appreciated if footpaths aren't precisely where they should be! Our adventure destinations are typically within a 90-minute drive from Birmingham, with occasional trips that venture further afield or even entire weekends away. Don't drive? Some of our hikes are accessible by public transport, and we'll make sure to mention this when applicable. However, due to the remote nature of some of our destinations, we can't always guarantee convenient transportation. If you're interested in joining a walk but lack transportation, feel free to post on the event page to see if any fellow participants from your area are willing to offer a lift in exchange for a fuel contribution. Please note that we reserve the right to remove individuals from the group if they repeatedly fail to show up for events without giving at least 6 hours' notice on 3 separate occasions. We value commitment and a sense of community in our group, and this policy helps ensure a positive experience for all.

Sutton & Lichfield Friends

Sutton Coldfield, 43

Sutton & Lichfield Friends
**If you have been removed from the group because you haven't paid the £2 renewal fee, and you still want to be a member, you will need to re-join and pay the joining fee.** A big, warm welcome from Sutton & Lichfield Friends. Whether you are looking to enjoy a new aspect to your social life, widening your existing social circle, or maybe meeting new friends, then we are definitely for you. We offer a wide range of events where, rest assured, you will be with like minded people. If you are maybe a little hesitant, then just hold onto the thought that we were all new to this once! Our group encompasses people from all walks of life, regardless of any individual's background or circumstances and we are always ready to welcome new members to come and participate in any of the events we offer. As with other Meetup groups, we do have a few guidelines outlining what we expect from our members. * A full face photograph is required in order for us to be able to accept you. This is to enable hosts to recognise you when you attend events. * Our annual membership fee is £3, payable within 10 days of being accepted to the group. Failure to pay within this time will result in your request being rejected. (Applicants that are members of excessive Meetup groups will also be rejected, because we like to keep the group to active members.) * Please check your diaries to make sure you are free and able to attend before adding yourself to an event. It could be that as a result of repeated failure to attend events with little or no notification, you may be removed from the group. * To avoid the above happening, we simply ask that you keep an eye on your RSVPs and make sure you are up-to-date. People on the waitlist will be interested in taking your place so it is important that all responses are current, this takes a matter of seconds to do. * We ask that should you find you are unable to keep your place then you remove yourself from the event at the earliest opportunity and let the host know, thus allowing the next person on the waitlist the chance to take your place. * If you opt to participate in an event that requires a payment direct to the host, these may include events such as meals and parties, etc., please make sure your payment is sent as soon as possible and in accordance with the requirements of the individual event. * In order to participate in 'paid' events you will need to be able to receive private messages from the event organiser to allow bank details to be forwarded to you, and the facility to be able to pay by bank transfer. * As event hosts are required to pay individual venues for allocated places in 'paid events' then any monies you pay are unfortunately non refundable. If you sign up to such an event and find that you are unable to attend, then where there is a person on the waitlist they will be given the opportunity to take your place and therefore a refund could be arranged. If there are no takers for the place, then unfortunately your payment is forfeit. While we already host a wide variety of events we always welcome other suggestions and will encourage and support anyone who is willing to host or to help host events.  If this interests you, contact one of the organisers or event hosts.  Likewise if you have any suggestions or comments about how to do things better we’d like to hear about it. Our full protocol is available on request. Caroline and Erica
