Connect Singles a Social and Walking Group 40+

Redditch, Q4

Connect Singles a Social and Walking Group 40+
Connect is an established group with members in Worcestershire, Warwickshire and The West Midlands. We meet in different locations every Sunday morning for a walk of 4 to 5 miles finishing with a drink in a pub. We also have a monthly evening pub meal and other social events. We are all volunteers and ALL ACTIVITIES ARE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Organisers and Event hosts are not responsible for any injuries however caused. Connect is a friendship group for single people. It is not a dating or introduction agency. Connect is an association which gives single people the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of activity with others .It is a successor to the nationwide group Nexus whose aspirations were to share with friends a rich, varied and rewarding life. Members suggest and organise activities voluntarily. We have enjoyed meals, cinema, theatre, days out, National Trust visits, weekends away, boat trips and other varied activities. New members must be single but those who become established in relationships remain members. We are always welcoming to new members. Most of our members live alone and guard their privacy so we respect their concerns and do not make telephone numbers, addresses etc. openly available. We are also sensitive that photos of members should not appear openly on social networking without their permission. Our walks are mostly in the countryside. Between 4 and 6 miles in length led by different members each week. It is a great way to exercise, chat, make new friends and enjoy lovely scenery. Afterwards most of us relax with a drink in a local pub or an outdoor picnic. We do not charge to join our group but we do have to pay to use the Meet up site. Occasionally we will ask for voluntary donations of £10 towards these costs. .

Evesham Over 45's Meetup

Evesham, Q4

Evesham Over 45's Meetup
Thank you for taking a look at our Group. We have been going since 2014 and we differ from a lot of other Meetup groups in that our ethos is all about making friends and enjoying activities together. For that reason, we ask members to attend an event at least once every 6 to 8 weeks, so that everybody in the group is an 'active' member. We normally meet for coffee/drink and a chat twice month to discuss what we would like to do at future events, and we now have a really varied selection of things to choose from. Nobody is expected to come to everything - that's not realistic - but the more events you can come to, the better. As our members come from Pershore, Redditch, Tewkesbury and Evesham we put events on in these areas so there is always somewhere new to go, and we try to encourage members to 'host' events, although this isn't as daunting as you might think - (not much more than a head-count really) and we are always happy to do that for you if you don't want to! Anybody who is 45 or over is very welcome. If you feel this group is for you, please join us, and start visiting places that just aren't any fun on your own, with your new friends. We look forward to meeting you soon. At our first AGM in 2015 it was decided that all members must put a photo of themselves on the site, together with your first and surnames on your profile - this is a closed group, so non-members will not be able to see names or photos. If you have a strong objection to putting your full surname on, an initial may be acceptable under certain circumstances. Without both of these, you will be asked to add them before joining. You may also like to know that we all pay a £12.00 subs fee annually – payable after your second event/meeting where you can decide if the group is for you or not. Members that don't attend meetings for a period of 2 months or more will be taken off the active list but can re-join (space permitting) at a later date if they find they have more time to devote to the group. And finally... All activities are undertaken at the member's risk. No responsibility will be accepted by the group or its members for mishaps of any kind!

Vale of Evesham Coworking Group

Evesham, Q4

Vale of Evesham Coworking Group
A small number of us in the local area have been meeting up to work remotely together and finding it helpful for productivity and use it as an opportunity to change things up from always working at the same few locations. This Meetup group is being set up to help test the water on bringing together other like minded individuals in the Vale of Evesham and surrounding areas who might like to get involved in something similar to the above. We imagine this group will be suited to anyone who would like to work alongside others that is not currently getting to as much as they might like. It could also be suited to individuals who are open minded enough to try something new that might be an improvement to their working day or working environment in some way. We are intending to arrange meet up events of usually around a couple of hours or so in locations where people will be able to meet, catch up and have a focused effort on something work related that they need to get done. The types of location you can expect events to be held at are coffee shops, coworking spaces, community centres or other business premises. There may also be some events that are run remotely and depending on the group that forms there could also be social activities that fit in to a lunch time or after work slot. All events could be an opportunity for anyone to network and find others they might be able to collaborate with if they are interested in that. The group is free to join but it's worth being aware that there is a monthly cost to setting up and running a Meetup group. Depending on how things go we might invite donations, look for sponsorship or see what members think to contributing in some way. The areas we've mainly worked in so far have been Evesham, Pershore and Droitwich but some of us have also met up with others in areas such as Cheltenham and Worcester. Other locations further afield may be of interest and we'll always be open to suggestions.

Hike West Midlands & Warwickshire Walking

Shirley, Q4

Hike West Midlands & Warwickshire Walking
Often copied but never bettered. We've been running events for many years and whilst other groups copy our walks and weekends, the original is always the best. Our goal is to provide day walking activities for those who like to challenge themselves with walks that are slightly longer and quicker than similar groups. Our walks are typically between 10 and 14 miles long and we walk at a pace of around 3.2 miles per hour, which is faster than similar groups in the area. We like to think of ourselves as a walking group that is does social; rather than a social group that does walks. To this end, we have a few common-sense rules designed to keep us all safe and happy. We love to see new members and we'll always try and make you feel welcome. We can all remember what it was like turning up to our very first event. Our group is run in a professional way with trained leaders, group insurance and a dedicated outdoor first aider. We carry out risk assessment and always ensure you're in good hands. There's no charge to join the group and your first couple of walks are free. After that, we ask that you pay £5 per year to help us cover our Meetup and insurance costs. All our day walks are posted on this group. These are mostly on a Sunday and the occasional Saturday. Our weekend getaways are not listed here but listed on a separate Meetup group, which is available to regular walkers by invitation. There is an extra £5 annual fee to join this group. Any applications for the weekend group are subject to approval.

FITNESS ADVENTURES MIDLANDS
Creating great value innovative and bespoke adventures; at home and abroad. FITNESS ADVENTURES MIDLANDS is for those who enjoy the great outdoors; all of our adventures are within the compass of someone with an average level of fitness. But, above all, the Group is for those who embrace fellowship, inclusiveness and fun in the company of like minded people. At FITNESS ADVENTURES MIDLANDS, there will be something for everyone, ranging from country walks, to weekends away, to adventure activities.  Since the Group formed in March 2017, we have canoed, climbed, cycled, hiked, scrambled, run, swum, walked ... and, socialised; of course. We hope the Group is a platform where you can meet others who might encourage you to pursue that elusive personal goal; maybe to achieve something on that 'bucket list' that requires other, like-minded people.  Obviously, the success and longevity of the Group depends upon members embracing the adventures; please become an active member of the Group. Some of our programmes may well be challenging but all should be within reach of those with an average level of fitness; fellowship and fun is at the centre of all we do. The Group is about personal well-being; about being comfortable, healthy and happy; embracing the outdoors.  Whilst fitness may well be a core value, we are absolutely not a Group of fitness fanatics.   Please do not be put off from joining our activities with the 'excuse' you are not fit enough; we hope you will join us, try new activities, visit new places and make new friends. Our goal is to create programmes where you can enhance your wellbeing in a fun and friendly environment.  Our trips will often utilise either expert local guides or specialist instructors in their field; when travelling abroad, this will allow us to explore with local people gaining an insight into the customs, culture and traditions of that country, visiting places 'off the beaten track' and away from the more usual attractions. FITNESS ADVENTURES MIDLANDS is, above all, about fellowship and fun, exploring new places and enhancing personal well-being.  We look forward to welcoming you to our Group. **TERMS AND DISCLAIMER** In becoming a member of Fitness Adventures Midlands (“the Group”), you agree and acknowledge that the Group, the Group organiser(s) or any host of the Group’s events or activities (be they other members of the Group or guest hosts), either individually or collectively, do not have a legal duty of care to Group members and/or guests of the Group and that the Group organiser(s), including event hosts accept no liability for any accident howsoever caused occurring from, or for any injuries or loss arising out of, participation in any organised events or Group activities, including any travel to and from events. The purpose of the Group is to arrange social activities for the members of Fitness Adventures Midlands (“the Group”).  Members of the Group and any guests participate in events entirely at their own risk.  It is not the responsibility of the Group's organising team or event hosts to check the suitability of individuals to take part in any event; it is the specific and sole responsibility of the individual participating in any Group event to ensure that they are in a fit medical state to do so.  Further, it is not the responsibility of the Group’s organiser(s) or event hosts for the actions of any individual Group member or their/any guest. Group members are expected to be respectful towards others, be they Group members or members of the public and to property.  Any behaviour, physical or verbal, thought to be inappropriate, abusive, threatening or offensive in any way will not be tolerated.  The Group organiser(s) reserve the right to exclude any Group member and/or any guest where behaviour is deemed to be unacceptable; the Group organiser(s) decision will be final and binding; no discussion or correspondence will be entered into. It is a condition of joining the Group that you acknowledge that the Group organiser(s) including event hosts of any Group activities do not necessarily hold any professional qualifications and that they may not have attended any formal training in relation to any of the events organised by the Group.  The organising team and event hosts merely volunteer to organise and host events; the organising team of any event and any event hosts thereof accept no liability for any accident, injury or loss howsoever arising.
